DidEinsteinsMum · 28/10/2010 23:58

Welcome to the November Fledgling Flying thread.

From the 1st of the month we shall be decluttering and taming the chaos using baby steps, missions and zones. A great big thank you to MrsDinky who looked after us last month.

We are not strict followers of the fat fairy and take some of the babysteps wearing shoes indoors with a pinch of salt. Also advise against signing up for the fairy's emails.

All are welcome, jump on board for one of our three methods of chaos attack:

  1. Baby steps
  2. Baby steps and 15mins decluttering in current zone
  3. Re-inforce the baby steps and daily mission

This month the fat fairy is gearing up for the feastive period. So I shall also post the christmas mission for those who wish are brave enough to look.

In here the motto is:

*"No perfection! Do what you can, but be realistic about what you can do."

Happy flying.

Aaahh reached our destinations. been fighting with dc trying to get them to bed for an hour and half. all usual sanctions used to no avail!!

started my flying, desperately need some cleaning materials though Hmm. so far tried to clean sink? how do i do it again. as i have a granite/composite something sink i never really shine my sink but they have old fashioned s/s sink. Blush after 9 months flying i should know Blush have also wiped down two kitchen unit doors but really need a scourer!

ill try and do some more tomorrow.

bob hope fingers better. sorry to hear dd is not well. take it easy and look after you too. thank heavens for f1. xx
pa huge thinking of you vibes for today.
loosinas welcome well done on your good start. stick with us we will get there.
linzer i saw a linzer biscuit today at a coffee shop.

toffee not surproised you are feeling stretched.hope you get some time to chill and take some time to yourself.
did hope you got over your ex being an eeejit!! i waved in what i believed to be roughly the right area. which probably means i waved to someone entirely different. Blush

huge waves to everyone. gonna go and watch x-factor. if i can see if through dparents smoking fog. (cough) (cough) Grin

swanriver · 13/11/2010 21:34

Nettie I too have been struggling to get one child at least to bed. Plaintive moans about Moshi Monsters - never being allowed on computer etc (which is true enough Hmm
We have been reading "Hetty Feather" by JW - she can't bear to wait for next instalment either.

Dh has done washing up - very kind Smile

DancingIceDragons · 13/11/2010 21:40

Bob glad to hear DD is better this evening. I hope she doesnt try keeping you on your toes tonight so you can get some much earnt rest.

PA sending kind and healing thoughts your way. Hope all went well today. thinking of you!

Nettie, If you were on the M6 in the NW it'll be close enough. Grin

Am being busy. not done what i posted i was going to do. head up own ass atm will try to pull it out long enough to round up and link later. But as i have broken the fat fairy rule about only pulling out what will take a max of an hour to put away I am afraid the roundup might have to wait til tomo night when i will be officially on strike flying wise. Hmm

swanriver · 13/11/2010 21:42

toffee good luck with tomorrow! Remember whatever happens they just love all being in the same house together and being "at a Party"!
And as for tidying, as long as you can find the party bags, the Parcel, and the table and the oven I don't think kids will notice Hmm
I remember a party when ds was five and my (not ery close) friend had tidied her house so thoroughly that there was no toys to play with(out, I mean) Ds was terribly disappointed.

systemsaddict · 13/11/2010 22:17

House completely trashed last night and I sloped off to bed without doing a thing - fortunately dp did stay up and at least ran dishwasher, and kids slept in after being menaces all evening, so this morning:

  • emptied dw
  • shined sink
  • tidied kitchen (took forever)
  • wiped surfaces and have been fitting in ongoing tidying throughout the day - alternting between feeling overwhelmed and progress. Oh and following Flylady advice that washing is all one job till put away, I focused on putting all the clean stuff away not putting a new load on, and was amazed that we nearly had a week's clean clothes handing around the house!

Tomorrow'a plan:

  • empty dw
  • laundry
  • tidy
  • order something for Christmas
  • do some work

toffee I take my hat off to you, what with MIL and party too! hope all goes wonderfully well.

Bob glad dd more settled hope you get some sleep.

DEM / DID sounds like a lot on your plate hope you're not feeling too overwhelmed and the meds are keeping your injuries under control.

Welcome loosinas and hi to everyone else!

systemsaddict · 13/11/2010 22:18

ooh and I forgot, the other thing I did - an online ASDA order in 3 minutes, just got it in under the wire with 20 seconds to spare - can't work out whether to be proud of myself or annoyed to have left it so late! but at least it's done and we'll have food in the house tomorrow!

pushmepullyou · 13/11/2010 22:23

Helllooo everyone Smile

Sorry I have been so absent this week. Combination of a mammoth week at work and collapsing in the evening has meant that not much flying or mning has been done!

I have moreorless kept on top of the washing and dishwasher, but I definitely need a good surfaces and floor clean tomorrow.

Had a lovely day today at a friends DS's birthday party. I've hardly seen DD all week and it was so lovely to spend a day just hanging out with her and playing. I have even spent over an hour playing with playdough and almost enjoying it Grin.

I haven't caught p with the last few days of the thread yet, but hope everyone is well. Off to have a read now.

Thinking of PA. Hope the surgery went well x.

DidEinsteinsMumDoSanta · 13/11/2010 23:20

Grin
DancingIceDragons · 14/11/2010 01:06

Right now to the serious bits. There are no new missions today because it is the weekend

Sunday reminders here

babystep here, but it is a bit fat fairy indoctrine so feel free to ignore.

NettieSnowBalls · 14/11/2010 07:20

Love the twirling swirling did Grin

NettieSnowBalls · 14/11/2010 07:22

Oo Oo and the Xmas name love it!! Grin

I'm working on mine....

SylviaPankhurst · 14/11/2010 07:50

Still feels a little early for Christmas for me. I like to start in December.

Having said that going out for a day to take DD to a ballet day all day for Central school and so using the time to go Christmas shopping! :)

Glad to hear DD better bob hope you all have a great day.

BobLoblaw · 14/11/2010 08:41

DD spent all night vomiting and has diarrhoea too, I feel horribly sick but I don't know if that's psychological Confused At least dp will be back soon.

Have a lovely party Toffee

Flying away from home Nettie ? Very impressive.

How's your knee DiD ?

Very true swan My dp often reminds me of that.

I did my quickest ever online shop today systems so it would get delivered today but 3 minutes Shock

I love playdough PMPY ds ruins my creations though Wink

Christmas shopping without dc Sylvia ? Enjoy, I think FlyLady would encourage you to take time out for a quiet coffee and cake, renewing spiirts and all that!

I've already had to disinfect the bathroom and do two loads of washing, also my online shop is coming soon. I don't think I will achieve much else apart from getting ds' school things ready.

Have a lovely day everyone :) Thank heavens for F1 indeed Nettie ds has his Lewis Hamilton clothes on and has been designing tracks all morning :)

highlighterpen · 14/11/2010 10:07

Oh Bob Sad sorry to hear about DD. Hang in there! Hope she recovers very soon.

Must be very quick as DH has taken DTs out so I can get work done and so far all I've done is cleaning

Washing on done
Clean kitchen done
Wash kitchen / hall/ dining room floors done
Hoover living room done
Put stuff in car to lend/take to charity shop/return to toy library done

Must now do work work!

Hoping that DH will put blackout blind up in DTs room today. They don't need it so much now it's winter but the box with it in is annoying me in the hall!

Is the idea not to FLY at the weekend, just to do the 'home blessing' hour? I see there are no new missions at the weekend. Can someone fill me in please?

Thanks Smile

DancingIceDragons · 14/11/2010 11:01

highlighter at the weeekend there are not missions because the fly lady encourages family fun time

Basically at the weekend it is a case of doing the basic routines that are built up in the babysteps. The fat fairy is realistic to realise that 1. kids need attention 2. we get bored of cleaning 3. erm

actually thinking i am starting to ramble nonsense so am going to go get up. I have opticians in an hojur and its a 45min drive up there.

swanriver · 14/11/2010 11:17

Home blessing is Monday Highlighter Hmm
today is meant to revive the spirit HmmHmm although I think sometimes tidying does that too Smile

Off Xmas shopping with dd to buy presents for other people (don't think she has quite got this concept) as I feel desperate to get out of house after a week in with ds1. And cannot master internet browsing.

House is in chaos again Sad except kitchen which is justabout surviving.
Lunch is made, that's something.

Bob Could you ring a relative to help with ds? Are there any near? You must be feeling completely exhausted.

swanriver · 14/11/2010 11:21

Bob re-reading your post I see that your ds is doing brilliantly Smile

highlighterpen · 14/11/2010 12:39

Ah, Monday, thanks swan - I saw it on the reminders page and wondered if I'd missed it.

If I'm supposed to be reviving my spirit, then I am going to stop working and go and do something less boring instead!

See you all tomorrow!

MiniMarmite · 14/11/2010 13:49

Afternoon Ladies,

Sorry I went AWOL again. I had a really good excuse this time - DS2 decided to make an early appearance.

My waters broke on Monday and he finally arrived on Thursday Shock following an augmentation. We had to spend a couple of days in hospital but we are both fine and very glad to be home. It seems you might have had a premonition about this DID!

Pictures, stats etc on FB for those of you in contact with me on there Smile.

I had a very quick scan of the thread just now and hoping Bobloblaw's DD makes a good recovery.

Thanks for the cook info OM. It will be the 4 portion then - seeing DH and DS1 eat is truly something to behold (as well as our groceries bill)!

Stillconfounded · 14/11/2010 14:46

OOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!! Mini-Marmite CONGRATULATIONS!!! What completely fabulous news - that's made my day!!!! I am so delighted for you and all your family!! (Don't do FB so have sent you a private message through Inbox thingy at top of screen above) Now forget about Flying and go and take it easy and cuddle up with your little gorgeous son!! xxxx

Bob oh poor you. I hope you are OK and don't catch the bug and that your dd recovers soon. Hope your dh has arrived back by now too! You deserve a bit of help!

Highlighter this might help here!

Take it steady PushmePullyou you have a good excuse!

Hope party went/goes well Toffee and that you are not too stretched with mil and everything else on your plate at the mo

PA hope you are recovering well and don't feel guilty about staying in hospital for a rest if you want to!

DID thanks for links!!

Waves to Swan Nettie Sylvia and everyone else!

Barely light here. Atrocious weather still (as if someone is throwing buckets of rain at the window). No excuse though as riding was cancelled owing to the bad weather this morning and dd has had two parties this weekend so I've had loads of time to get organised. Finding the motivation is a bit more tricky however. Must get going ...can't see master bedroom floor again!!

highlighterpen · 14/11/2010 15:56

Congratulations MiniMarmite and BabyMarmite!! What fabulous news! Grin

MrsDinky · 14/11/2010 16:09

Ooh, congrats MiniM, just seen him on FB, looks gorgeous!

Listen Everybody except PA, I was going to PM you all about this but CBA. PA please avert your eyes if you are lurking. I was going to send a get well card to PA tomorrow and thought it would be nice if it was from all on Fledgling Flyers, would that be OK?

Have spent the afternoon conquering the ironing mountain, flying had slipped somewhat here the last few days but have picked up again today. Will pop back on later, need to go and make dinner.

DancingIceDragons · 14/11/2010 16:15

Sounds fabulous MrsD. Thankyou.

Congratulations MM!!!!! lovely squishy newborn with newborn smell. Enough to make a girl broody. Not enought to make this one want to be pregnant though Grin

PA should STILL BE IN HOSPITAL being a GOOD PATIENT!

Must go collect ds. will catch up later.

swanriver · 14/11/2010 16:34

miserable autumnal weather too, think sludgy leaves and packed grimy buses, rail replacement services etc etc
HOWEVER, have managed to escape to shops with dd,avoid major whinging, and we bought

a BuildaBear Wardrobe or BearArmoire with her money,
two winter coats for me ("that looks fine Mum, just buy them!")and
3 Xmas presents, so that's all good! Aqua bag for Grandma and a seagreen dangly necklace for godchild, and a Darth Vader Buildabear outfit for ds2 from dd. Except she gave that to him straightaway Hmm

Congratulations MiniMarmite great weather for snuggling too!

LinzerTorte · 14/11/2010 17:13

Just back from ILs so (for once) have had a good excuse for not doing any flying this weekend. No school tomorrow and DH is off work too, so we're thinking of going to Bratislava to stock up on M&S goodies in time for Christmas.

Haven't had time to catch up with the thread properly, but just wanted to say congratulations to MiniM - your new DS looks just adorable on the photos. I love the name too - it's DS's second name, but I already knew from your DS1's name that you have excellent taste. Wink
