Morning all

Sorry been absent all weekend
Swan Glad biopsy over and done with, sure you'll manage to occupy yourself for three weeks til the result (not so sure your DH will manage so well, sounds like a worrier like me! Smile)
dyls don't forget to go to after school club to book dd in!
Prof Xmas pressies sound great, glad nits are banished!!
Nutty I admire your Xmas magic! I can never find the time or money to make Xmas magical, I do try but find it all a bit tiresome which is a shame
scatty really big Grin at your female dishwasher gift!!!
everyone hi

Had a funny weekend, busy but bad tempered by all - DH ploughing his way through loads of things I can't manage, like hedge cutting, fixing conservatory roof, jet washing slimy decking etc. Me being tired and achey with the pelvis thing (though not the agony of last week) and sore throat. DC being absolutely HORRID particularly DS and me not reacting terribly patiently. All very depressing really!

I AM going to clean the house this morning!!! Have banned going out this morning, supposed to be gently doing the house bless. Whenever I go out on errands I come home in pelvic agony and absolutely exhausted. I am finding being pregnant much harder with two older children, being a SAHM and not working than I did with one toddler, working part time or the blissful first time round, working full time and no children! i guess my house was always clean and tidy when I worked as I wasn't in to mess it up, make dishes etc etc.

Right enough philosophising, BBL

Homebless here! just an hour..I'll be back

Are you going to read this "Freedom" thing Wendy? I need to get a proper Autumn bookpile by my bedside.

swanriver · 04/10/2010 09:45

x-post..sounds like our weekend I'm afraid dcwise. I do get fed up with dd, it is a temperamental thing. She doesn't want to DO anything except impossible things (go swimming at 7pm - go shopping on Sunday Eve at 6pm, visit the loft before school, climb on the shed,)
I can see WHY she wants to do these things, I just get frustrated at her inability to relax and potter Blush read a book have her own little projects...Possibly too much sleepover fun - anyway, her friends seem to love her and the cat adores her, so it must be me Blush

Jas · 04/10/2010 10:03

Good morningSmile

Wendy - I found being pregnant the third time much harder, too. Fitting around school runs, homework and after school clubs was not easy.
I found I had to lower my expectations and just do what I could. I seemed to either have happy children, or a tidy house, so opted for the happy children as much as possible!
I didn't have SPD, either, which is obviously making things much harder for you. Don't be too hard on yourself, and take care.

SwanI hope the next three weeks pass quickly for you and dh,and you get a good result...

I have managed to cobble together some kind of list over the weekend to work from, and will try and achieve as much as I can over the next two days so I can have Wednesday to do fun things!

swanriver · 04/10/2010 10:22

kitchen nearly tidy Smile

swanriver · 04/10/2010 10:51

I think this is going to take three hours!
dh(he and ds2 spend all their time making amazing lego cities) has told me to throw away all the lego boxes and keep instruction manuals - it's heaven - a whole wall of playroom cleared (even if I can't ever sell sets on ebay Blush - don't think I would ever have got round to it anyway)

swanriver · 04/10/2010 10:52

homebless I mean, not the lego...

Jas · 04/10/2010 13:25

I've decided to clean floors today. This is forcing me to tidy as wellSmile

I've done my best to scrub the once-cream carpet in dd1s room, and done the bathroom floor in all the corners and round the back of the toilet.
I've got coffee drips all over my bedroom floor, too (thankfully not carpet, so that is up next, then I will hoover everywhere else.

swanriver · 04/10/2010 13:30

I think I'm not going to get to the floor bit till Friday..
have assembled 4 enormous black bin bags outside the front door and I'm having to keep closing my eyes and not noticing the general scuzziness of skirtings, paintwork, just to keep going with this wretched homebless...

Jas · 04/10/2010 13:49

lol. I'm not looking as high as the skirting boards!

swanriver · 04/10/2010 14:29

only 3/4 hr left to hoover 5 rooms, or all my work will be undone, the minute the children step into this house..vast amounts of sediment will spread around again

Jas · 04/10/2010 14:33

I've only got 20 mins,and I still haven't hoovered downstairs....I'll race you!

swanriver · 04/10/2010 14:56

upstairs hoovered, tho' not our room
15 mins left to do downstairs

swanriver · 04/10/2010 15:16

downstairs hoovered
house still looks like tornado hit it Angry

but done loads of decluttering
possibly only needs 20 concentrated mins of beautification now, if the dcs let me..Grin
also have put back out - now hobbling to school, hotsweaty and decrepid

Wendy You need a wife to do it for you Grin

MNTotoro · 04/10/2010 20:50

Hi everyone. It's been a while. EV here :)

DH is away this week so I'm going to try and get back on top of things in the house. It's already a bit tidier :)

How is everyone

SimplySparkling · 04/10/2010 20:54

Sorry all. I'm finding settling back into MN after quite a long break quite hard. That's on top of being rather addicted to a solitare game on the pc and having other vices such as family history research. Blush

Nuttybear I've told dh several times that if I was to marry a second time it would be to a woman!

I'd better keep this short as I'm worn out and am ready for bed! I want to post a done list, though.
~ hoovered and mopped kitchen floor
~ cut lawn and took cuttings, bottles, recycling etc to recycling centre
~ put fuel in car
~ bought stuff in Halfords. One item was fine but the car mats don't fit so they'll have to be returned
~ did food shopping
~ gave dd a lift home
~ hoovered out my car and half of the other one. I wanted to show ds how clean it could get by just doing one half!

Right. Bye all. See you tomorrow.

swanriver · 04/10/2010 21:46

wendy hey, you are allowed to be grumpy, and for what it's worth I felt foul for the last few weeks of pregnancy and seriously like collapsing despite having only one toddler to look after and a dh who put that toddler to bed every night.

Simply Angry hoovering the car - that is not fair

a lovely afternoon,
made scones, spareribs,
everyone did their homework without being badgered Smile
dcs pottered,
old friend dropped by,

Ds1 to Cubs...
passed on two bags of children's books to good homes
read Finn Family Moomintroll to dd - she loves it Smiledespite initial resistance
went on tidying - changed one and half beds
more washing done
dh has unloaded dw

wendyhappysmile · 04/10/2010 22:29

Nutty Grin

Thanks all for your advice. I love my Flylady friends you are all so wise!!

swan and jas you two made me laugh with your mammoth house blessing - it never takes me an hour either! I managed about a fifth of it I think!

Prof you are a hero doing all of that and have made me feel like I am doing ok after all!

Managed to do some house blessing, cook lentil spag bol for tea, and a double batch and put some in the freezer (which is just full of tomato sauce for pasta, from greenhouse tomatoes, think we'll be living on it!),and all the usual things as well, oh and two loads of washing and ironing. So I am doing OK!

BB tomorrow

I am hugely impressed by anyone who can manage 3 pregnancies, esp while being a full time carer or double pregnancies (swan). I was an absolute prgenancy wimp (both times) Blush.

DH brought my dishwasher home in the back of his car yest. Sadly not an efficient woman in curlers and marigolds but a big white box. Just waiting to be plumbed in now.

Must go things are starting to unravel.

MNTotoro · 05/10/2010 08:17

Do I need to change back to be EV to get your attention? ;)

Wendy - being pregnant sucks. I hated nearly every minute of mine from start to 4 months and then 4.5 - 9 months Grin. You'll feel fab when the baby is born though!

swanriver · 05/10/2010 10:13

LOL Scatty! curlers!

meanwhile..dd is at home, claiming to have a sore throat, and is drawing cartoons and writing a diary Shock Has she been reading my messages?Shock
ds2 has earned 100 stars and keeps sidling up to me and saying can I do anything to help Mummy? (one of star categories is Help Mum) Ds1 has become extremely loud and lolloping

I am continuing in the kitchen today - routines are done - sorting cupboards and shelves and trying to meal plan for this week when veg box comes.

Jas · 05/10/2010 11:36

Aww, EV , not ignoring you! You are one of the people on here I recognise no matter what the name says!

I have dps uncle visiting from NZ this afternoon....I was kindly let know this fact late last night!!

So as a result this is likely to be my only post. I've shopped so I can feed everyone, but despite all my work yesterday, downstairs looks like it hasn't been cleaned for a month, so I will be busy tidying and hiding piles of junkBlush

Wish me luck.
