Wendy that's amazing! Knife is a very good touch -one can never find the cake knife!

Nutty sounds like a perfect party to me, I think the best parties I've given have been just the kids playing unsupervised in the garden on climbing frame. An art to get them into the right frame(no pun intended) of mind though Grin

exhausting chaotic Wed is over tg, and now into boring "what am I meant to catch up with? Thursday Blush waiting to hear if ds1has got off reserve list and into a footballtournament, in which case I will need to rustle up packed lunch

have done food shop so far today

Nuttybear · 07/10/2010 11:35

Wendy Wendy Wendy You are a beacon that I must follow > I think it's a bigger cheat to get Grannies to make the food Envy(Only since my Mum has gone JW I can't ask her)Grin
I am getting better, had a habit of losing the candles I only bought the week before.
I have a party box now which is very useful
Party bags, ballons etc..

funtimewincies · 07/10/2010 16:37

Pleased to hear that the party went well nutty Smile.

I took ds2 to playgroup this a.m. so haven't got much done, just keeping on top of the worst of the mess Confused.

Ds1 is tired and foul today and ds2 is tired and teething, so CBeebies has now been deployed!

Nuttybear · 07/10/2010 17:08

Funtime I know the expert think that telly is a bad thing but so is a Mummy losing her sanity. My Ds is watching a bit of telly now and I haven't had him around all day!!Blush I remember when my Ds was a baby and having almost tumble weed of dust on our floors Blush I have just cleaned the glass cupboard which I'm sure I haven't done in maybe 5 years Blush as it doesn't habour germs who really cares (some adult guest might do but they shouldn't be so nosey!) fly has helped me fit these little bits in!

Nuttybear · 07/10/2010 17:12

Swan well done re playroom. I hated that job as a teenager! Plasticine with bits of grime and hair yukky! Barbie doll with no clothes and matted hair yukky too! No wonder I turned into a bad tempered Big sister!

scattyspice · 07/10/2010 17:41

nutty party sounds absolutely fine. I am rubbish at parties and just buy everything (from Lidl). Haven't had any complaints yet Smile.

My house is a shocking tip! I haven't really got into the swing of it since they went back to school (4 wks ago!!).

Dad coming for the weekend so need to do emergency clean up of whole house and children.

MNTotoro · 07/10/2010 17:52

cbeebies is an essential parenting tool Grin

Those of you who know me on FB - I insist you go and see the cutest photo of my DD2 ever :)

swanriver · 07/10/2010 18:27

My friends used to tidy up our playroom when I was a child/teenager. I used to watch wide-eyed as they put puzzles back in the right boxes, picked up applecores etc. I don't think my poor mother dared go in there Blush My brothers of course Grin

afternoon spent playing in park -football etc. Ds was not selected for tournament, so no tears that he lost the match Hmmwhich is sometimes what happens... Friend over for dd, and spag bol. Everyone calm and happy.

Scatty Nutty I think you both have some excuse if your houses are not Stepford!

Nuttybear · 07/10/2010 20:49

Day going well until bedtime Sad Ds's God father came over and gave his present to Ds during story time. Fab Hotwheels thing Ds very happy then he opened the card and as a joke God father gave him a pink girl's card Shock Big tears that he didn't want a pink card!!!! I explained he had a lovely present and don't make a big deal of it. He carried on crying..... I tried to tell him he should be grateful....more tears I thought I heared the front door go as the two men went to the pub. So I told DS to tear up the card and I'll hide it from Daddy so don't worry (thinking this would stop the tears) Big mistake Dh caught me!!! and told ds off! More tears.... Now I think DH is going to tell me off when he gets back from the quiz night I think I'm going to be in detention tommorow and have to do lines Hmm Sad

MNTotoro · 07/10/2010 21:13

Oh dear Nutty :(

dylsmum1998 · 08/10/2010 09:32

nutty little dcs don't get irony or sarcasm, only burlesque - it's dh being used to the secondary schoolers isn't it.?my ds2 would think if funny if godfather dressed up in fluffy pink, but not funny to get the wrong card. Esp when you are a little boy who wants to be cool/grownup. Dyls idea excellent - people are v. touchy about age-ing Grin

Piano tuner has turned up unexpectedly! What a blessing playroom tidy. I did not even look in the diary, (appt was in there) and was about to force myself to go out again, which would have been big mistake. I need to be more organised [sob]

Have been for a brisk walk already today Smile

Dyls glad placement is not scarey.

Nuttybear · 08/10/2010 11:25

Swan DH & GF are also over 52 yrs so very grumpy old men! I think a photo of GF in a pink Tutu would be funny!

dylsmum1998 · 08/10/2010 12:03

Nutty I am terrible for plotting jokes on people, though I don't tend to do them on children til they are old enough to understand. I once gave ds nan one of those old lady head scarf things as a joke birthday present on the first birthday she had after becoming a nan. I put lots of glittery spakly things in my nephews card because he told me not to buy him anything messy for his birthday as his mum would moan. I felt Sad that he said this as he was only 4/5 at the time. So I made she she had mess (and I was there when he opened it so he didn't get told off! LOL)

Swan hehe I'd find a grown man in pink tutu v. amusing.

So far today I've walked with ds' reception class to the library, made the class teddy bear a dress (very pretty) and updated the Christmas FLY thread.

Obviously my house is perfectly tidy and clean so there is nothing more important to do!!

SimplySparkling · 08/10/2010 16:33

Good afternoon all. Sorry I've been missing for a day or two. Yesterday was basically shopping and laundry. Today has been catching up on rest (I don't sleep very well and once in a while I need to just take it easy) and doing bits and bobs. See you all on the w/e! Smile

swanriver · 08/10/2010 17:54

I have washed floors downstairs
had some ladies to lunch Grin
done lots of walking with the twins

now it's Race Night at school - so off to help (dcs staying here with dh so that I can actually ^help - although I fear dd may accompany me Hmm she usually gets very overtired by these events but desperate to attend)

Nuttybear · 09/10/2010 09:30

Morning DH has gone to help a mate out with some building work (not happy)
Ds is watching telly Blush
Swan did you enoy your lunch? Must do that with the neighbours sometime.

Hi all
Up all night with stomach ache, had cancel trip away to see friends. Sent DC to my Mum's for the afternoon and sleepover! Thank goodness for my mum, I moan about her but she always comes up trumps in times of need.

Still feel rotten, had two hours sleep this morning/afternoon.
