Parents of Warwick freshers 2026

I can see some of the other Universities have a thread so thought I'd set one up for Warwick too :). DC is looking forward to starting in September and will be studying History BA.

Hope everyone’s drop offs went smoothly! Very impressed with the process - no queues into the Kirby Corner car park and only waited a couple of minutes for the key and ID. The Cryfield Townhouses accommodation is lovely, bright and spacious, and plenty of storage for the very full car load we brought. Glorious sunshine and we said hello to the housemates we met. Fingers crossed they all settle well now 🤞

If anyone is dropping off tomorrow, the rooms are very warm so do bring a fan if you have one!

No queues for us either. All smooth and lots of nice helpful folk around. Gorgeous weather too. Glad we took a fan! All the best for anyone moving in tomorrow and here’s to a happy freshers week…

@ComingInByAnsiblei just saw you post on the fledglings thread and funnily enough we took younger ds with us and he was like your DD, more upset than expected to say goodbye. I think they’re very attuned to the change esp having always had their older brother around. Mine are best mates so it will be hard for ds2 not having him here. but sure it will do both of them good too. And they can always play online together which never used to be a thing. Hope your DD is doing okay - and your DS too!

Glad to hear it went well yesterday! We also found it really smooth and DC liked his room and flatmates. The only issue was that his bathroom smelt of damp (he has mild asthma). I couldn't see any evidence of mould or anything 'bad' though so hoping it will be ok...The kitchen was spotless even if DC was one of the last to arrive so they are either a clean bunch or they haven't cooked anything yet! He texted later on to say he had been hanging out with flatmates most of the evening and was going to the SU party with his friend from college so it all sounded like a pretty great start to uni life!
