Hi everyone, here's the new thread!

Hello. Glad to hear lots of lovely offers. It's unusual to get all 4 so some rejections to be expected. You only need one 🤞

Hey everyone! So pleased to hear of everyone's offers, we are still waiting - none of our choices have released any offers post interviews so I guess it's a case of just waiting!! (and of course, another interview to do in 2 weeks).

Curlyshabtree · 30/01/2026 14:54

Thank you for your kind thoughts. DD is waiting to hear from 3 others so all is not lost (yet). And as many posters have said you only need one offer.
Lovely to see all the offers coming in, hang in there everyone!

@Curlyshabtree My DD also got a rejection from Leeds. She’s really sad as it’s her second rejection. I really wish the rejection hadn’t come so close to her final interview as I think it’s really knocked her. I’m so sad for her. She has worked so hard and completely smashed her UCAT.

rockstuckhardplace · 30/01/2026 17:39

Thanks for the new thread! Still nervously waiting here. DD had two pre-interview rejections and is waiting on interview outcomes from the other two: Dundee and Leicester. It looks like Dundee have started sending out a few offers to home Scottish students, but nothing RUK. Also just seen a couple of reports of Leicester offers. It's awful when offers are dripfed.

monkeytennismum · 30/01/2026 17:47

Hi there. Been meaning to post for a while, but life keeps getting in the way. Thank goodness it's Friday (again!).

I am so sorry to hear about the rejections, it's just never easy is it? My YP was so angry about their rejection from Manchester.

An update from us in case it's helpful to anyone: YP had online interviews at Lancaster and Plymouth in recent weeks. Both said they'd hear late March, but actually Plymouth offered a couple of days later. I think YP was much more at ease as it was their 2nd interview. It's not 1st choice, but sooo good to have an offer - they'll go anywhere for med! We have Liverpool next week and that is 1st choice and last interview, so keeping everything crossed.

Wishing all your YP lots of luck and also sending thanks for all the info on this thread; it is so helpful to give some perspective.

FruAashild · 30/01/2026 17:53

Rejections are hard, DD was in tears after her second pre-interview one. She's keen to accept the Sunderland offer now even though we've not heard from Keele yet. Still not heard from her fifth option (she applied over Christmas so much later than the others), I'd like to know she has a safety net, although it was in clearing last year so probably nothing to worry about.

bluefineliner · 30/01/2026 19:38

Hi all,

Just checking in on the shiny new thread!

I can only say to those waiting on offers to keep on hanging on, it honestly filled a lot of my thoughts these past few days waiting but now we know I can't tell you the relief. The patience required for this whole process is ridiculous.

Last interview next Weds at Liverpool for DD. She did really like it on the open day so will try her best.

Almost out of the dreaded January now.

My son has just got an e mail from Dundee offering him a place, which is great news. However, the email says for 2027 entry, which isn’t correct as he applied for this year. He’s checked both Dundee portal and UCAS and they both show 2026 year of entry. Do we think this is just an email mistake?

Oh that’s disconcerting… but almost certainly an admin error surely? Congratulations and hope your mind is put at rest soon!

Congratulations! I would email them but I think it would be for deferred entry. Ie they like him but there’s no space. If he wants to go there it’ll be for the following year.

I think if 2026 is on UCAS which is the system of record, they have to honour that offer. Hope you get it resolved.

Itsallstressstressstress · 31/01/2026 05:19

Thanks. Unfortunate that it’s the weekend but he’s away for a school competition this morning so told him we will sort it out when he gets back and w mail them. Hopefully hear Monday.

CarpetDiem · 01/02/2026 23:32

Hello all, we’re 🙏 for an offer, YP had two interviews, Leicester (mid Dec) & Liverpool (last wk).
Liverpool didn’t go as well as hoped, but we’ll keep our 🤞
It’s such a difficult process, time to get head down & study for A-levels.
Looking forward to everyone getting offers, just one each would be fab 😊

bluefineliner · 02/02/2026 06:16

Fingers crossed for an offer @CarpetDiem , are you all done with interviews now? DD has Liverpool on Weds, her last interview thank goodness. I think the general view had always been Liverpool was a harder interview so DD is prepared for it to be challenging, not looking forward to it though.

At least we are in February at last, lets hope the offers continue to come more readily this month 🍀.

CarpetDiem · 02/02/2026 07:22

@bluefinelinerYes, all done, YP was rejected from Manchester & Sheffield. 🍀 to your YP at Liverpool, the crypt was really cool apparently!

Itsallstressstressstress · 02/02/2026 19:53

So after the confusing Dundee e mail on Friday we got a new e mail today with a conditional offer. Very happy son as Dundee was his second choice, so he has first and second choice.

Just one more waiting to hear back from.
Hope others young people have had good news today too.

that's great to hear! what a relief!

Still no offers but the schools we've applied to haven't started offering post-interviews (I think). Prepping for last interview in a week.

It was, I think he had convinced himself it was a no.
I hope you hear soon, and the last one goes well too.

The Liverpool interview wasn’t too bad according to my DD - just what you would normally expect. A few were a bit stony faced l, but not all. It was cold in the waiting areas of the crypt though but warm in the actual MMI rooms, so tell your DD to wrap up. Wishing her all the best.

inae · 03/02/2026 20:31

What a relief @Itsallstressstressstress! Good luck to those still interviewing this and next week and fingers crossed for more/first offers for all!

We're traveling to Southampton tomorrow for a Thursday morning interview. I'm enjoying these little trips, despite the weather (and the expense!)

We're in the 'waiting eagerly for an offer (any offer!)' camp as well @MyGreyBiscuit! DD is coping well with it, as she has mocks starting next week and has no time for anything anymore 😁

You’re my waiting buddy @inae! Where have you decided to stay in Southampton? And enjoy it! :) I hung about the student union near the cinema - they have comfy chairs and sockets. We have mocks after half term - and next week’s his last interview…

inae · 03/02/2026 20:47

Thanks for the tips, we're staying at the Premier Inn as well! DD has mocks both next week and the week after half term.

As for endless waiting, we are also STILL waiting for a UCL invite and, as it stands right now, DD will either make their last interview date (3rd of March) or will narrowly miss the ranking cut-off by 10 points. I'm hoping she gets it as it's her aspirational choice and we took a high risk with it.
