Annual thread for those with dc about to embark on the rollercoaster of audition season. This is my second time round as my ds did it a couple of years ago. These threads are always really supportive and full of great advice as it’s often hard to explain to others how tough and competitive this process is. Good luck everyone!!

Hi we got an email from Trinity with an offer for the MT foundation rather than a phone call, not sure if it’s different for the BA course? came as a massive relief as my DD had received 7/8 rejections before that & still waiting on Mountview …. This auditioning malarkey is BRUTAL!!! But at least we will be prepared for it next year after this!! And won’t (hopefully) have Glandular Fever to contend with during audition season next time.

Hi Congratulations that is fabulous news. We are still waiting..agree it's agonising. When did your DD audition? Two of my DD's friends auditioned w/c 9/2 and both got offers on UCAS for Foundation on 11/3.

It really is super stressful isn't it...such a tough process. I've heard really positive things about TL's Foundation course 😊

She loved it when she went to the open day & then the audition day. And was her 1st choice. I am so relieved she got it as we were looking at a gap year before yesterday 😅

thank you ☺️ He doesn’t mind having waited this long now he’s had a positive outcome funnily enough 😂🤪 Now after this hiatus just needs to psyche himself up for his second rounds!

My DS had lost the will to live after self tapes and waits, but was really fired up and motivated again after his first recall, the waiting is hard! Very best of luck!

Finally heard back from Royal Central and dd is recalled!! Yippee!! What a roller coaster!! Does anyone know if you need additional monologues for the next round? Keeping fingers crossed for the other DC waiting from 4 Feb deadline

We had our recall invite early hours of this morning and have to submit availability, have you worked out what is required yet? From my research previously I found on their website that it's just the monologues they already have but I don't like to 100% assume until we have that email which won't be until next week now.

Reklats · 13/03/2026 15:06

Has anyone heard back yet from the first round Mountview Acting in person auditions 3 weeks ago?

That’s great news! According to one of the other mums on here, you stick with the same monologues. We haven’t heard yet, which course/s they are considering my dd for

My DD did the 2nd round in person and they only asked for the monologues & songs from the self tape submission. Good luck

After receiving a rejection for Trinity Laban BA MT, DD then received an email to consider Foundation dance course - can add choice on UCAS, then will be offered a place or reserve, depending on availability

Hi everyone! Has anyone had a recall from Rose Bruford ? My daughter had a recall just over 2 weeks ago now but still not heard anything yet. The waiting is awful !

For Rose Bruford a lot of people i’d spoken to got recalls or no’s the Tuesday after there audition but I actually got a 3rd round invite 3 weeks after my recall and I spoke with a few other people in my audition group - they also heard both yes and no’s 3 weeks after our audition.

They clearly discuss these things for a long time don’t they!
For acting my son got a 3rd round recall 3 days after attending 2nd round and for actor musician he got a rejection for a place 3 weeks after attending (for which you can understand that this decision would take longer to arrive at)

SparklyUmberExpert · 14/03/2026 18:04

Hi just wondering with ba acting gsa we have gotten a second round but it’s on may 10th which seems really late . Are second rounds all late ?

theatrekidmum · 14/03/2026 18:48

My son's GSA audition is in May too. I thought it was very late but apparently quite common for them too.

WishITookLifeSeriously · 14/03/2026 18:49

My daughters is at the end of April. I have only discovered today that there’s 3 rounds at GSA!!

Hi no that’s the next available date. Auctions started months ago but they had 2700+ people apply which apparently is the highest ever so I guess there maybe doing more late auditions.

Truetoself · 14/03/2026 20:01

@WishITookLifeSeriouslyGSA only self tape and in person audition. There are three rounds for Mountview.

Hi there’s 3 rounds the interview stage is classed as a final recall.

WishITookLifeSeriously · 14/03/2026 20:27

@warwickdrama@Truetoself thank you! I shouldn’t have trusted a google search! It seemed like the workshop was round 3 on another day! Don’t think I could handle 3 days never mind DD!

Po249 · 14/03/2026 22:36

Hi all who have GSA recall for BA Acting my daughter had hers 2 weeks ago. This is how it ran they had a movement/ voice workshop and then they were asked to do their Shakespeare monologue and were redirected on it. They then broke for lunch for half an hour then went back in for a Q and A with the students then the panel came back and asked 5 of them to stay of which she was one. She then had to do her contemporary monologue and was redirected then she had an interview. Ultimately she was rejected 2 weeks later but hope this info is helpful
