Drama school auditions 2026 entry- Acting/MT

Annual thread for those with dc about to embark on the rollercoaster of audition season. This is my second time round as my ds did it a couple of years ago. These threads are always really supportive and full of great advice as it’s often hard to explain to others how tough and competitive this process is. Good luck everyone!!

That sounds so frustrating. I just wish there was some consistency. Ill get him to follow up with them next week although it sounds like that may not really get him much further. It's the waiting and not knowing where you stand that's almost as hard as just getting a no.

Still nothing for us from Performers! Have you had any luck? Dd said the results from the audition the week before we only sent out at the end of this week.
Nothing back from Bird yet either even though they said it would be the next day.

Has anyone ever known results come through on a weekend?

Still nothing from Performers. She did tell me it would be Friday ( yesterday) but nothing. Our response from bird was updated on Saturday night so it can be delayed. Very frustrating.

We know of people who found out on the day and also the next day that they were accepted at bird. Hope that helps

Just to add, we heard back from Bird within 2 days via email. Then it was updated on UCAS last Saturday which was over 2 weeks later. Heard from Brighton via email after 2 days also but that hasn’t been updated on ucas yet. Bit of a mixed bag.

Thanks. We weren’t sure if we’d be waiting until Monday for Bird so it’s good to know we might hear later today. She has her heart set on going there (we’re Welsh and it’s one of the few that she can access full funding for, plus she did a summer school there and fell in love with the place)

Well the seemed to send the rejection within a day and probably the acceptances take a lot more work so I’d be hopeful for you there. If

@Sop2 how many times have RCS viewed your tapes on YouTube?

My dd was delighted go get the offer box from Emil Dale on Friday night. Can’t quite believe it and the realisation that she’ll be off in September is setting in. This is my second time going through this as my other child is also at drama school- if didn’t feel any less stressful second time round that’s for sure!

How long was she waiting to hear? Dd is there next Monday.

Acting and singing twice and dance 5 so far.

She auditioned on the Saturday and the box came on Friday evening. Her friends who were there and didn’t get a place got a no by email on Thursday morning. I hope your daughter has a great day.

@sopthat’s interesting is your dc stronger at dance or equal at all 3?

she's an actor singer first - can dance quite well but is a latecomer to it so not as technically proficient - it was the same for Urdang tapes - lots of dance views - I guess they aren't as sure about her dance so look a few more times?!

She hadn’t really allowed herself to think of a top choice as she knows how uncertain and competitive the whole process is so didn’t want get her hopes up for anything. This was her first audition. I think I’d be happy to just stop now lol but she’s got to have a think about it.

My DD's first audition for Emil Dale isn't until 14 March! I hope there will still be places available by then!
