Continuing as thread 1 has filled up.

Kings College London and Cranfield have announced they will merge today. Or as one one commentator described it, "rather like Jonah merged with the whale, Cranfield has merged with Kings College London".

Cranfield was on my list of wobbly universities, hopefully this will protect their areas of excellence and dilute the issues they are facing.

Cranfield is a very niche institution though. It's only postgrads isn't it? Largely overseas , too.

I don't think Jonah and the whale is a very fair analogy.
