@Tortiemiaw and @loobylou44 my DD will need this as well. In fact I’m really worried how she’ll cope. DD is 21 soon; she’s been more or less housebound due to severe anxiety since she was 15. She’s determined to get to uni and is ploughing through an Access to HE course online. Based on that shes received 2 conditional offers and 2 portfolio requests (fashion). But I’m thinking how in the holy fuck is this even going to be feasible?!

It's so stressful, isn't it? Even without additional needs, we worry - ds, with no issues, went in 2018, and that was hard enough! I'm hopeful and believe that universities have improved their pastoral care and offer much more support than in my day, though. Your dd sounds amazing - she clearly has the determination!

Tortiemiaw · 17/02/2024 15:30

On another note - has anyone had Bristol offers yet? Dd and her schoolmates haven't heard. She already has her first choice but it would be good to know!

Fringeundecided · 17/02/2024 15:59

@Tortiemiaw DS has had an offer from Bristol (maths) but still heard nothing from Bath or Warwick...

Headingto18 · 17/02/2024 16:16

@Tortiemiaw DD was v lucky to get her Bristol offer in October - def a special place in her heart for them for that!

Tortiemiaw · 17/02/2024 16:47

Thanks!! Maybe it's because she applied later.

PumpkinKnitter · 17/02/2024 20:12

@Tortiemiaw It probably depends on the subject. DD also got an offer from Bristol in October, but I think that for some subjects they put everyone on hold until after the UCAS deadline.

PatriciaHolm · 17/02/2024 20:37

DS hasn't heard from Bristol or Bath yet - other than a hold from Bristol ages ago (engineering)

WombatChocolate · 18/02/2024 18:04

I’ve heard of a few more people getting offers from some of the places that are slower to offer, such as Durham, LSE and Imperial. Hoping the flurry of applications which must come in close to the deadline are working their way through the system so universities can see the total amount of applicants for each course and get processing if they’ve been waiting for that complete picture.

DD has now received a Bath offer which is great news and hopefully means others will hear from Bath soon.

We haven’t heard from Leeds for politics. Have others? Are they known to be slow normally.

Delphigirl · 18/02/2024 21:54

@tabmctat we haven’t heard from Leeds for Arabic which is hardly the worlds most popular course. It’s in clearing every single year. My dd has Astar Astar A predictions for an ABB course. I think it is just delaying to give the impression of being in demand…!

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 18/02/2024 22:00

@TabMcTat

Had offer from Leeds but not Bath. Natural Science.

Cantonet · 18/02/2024 22:29

Ds is still waiting to hear from Bristol, Bath & UCL for Psychology. Anyone else waiting? He has offers from loughborough & Sheffield so far.

MerchSwyddEfrog · 19/02/2024 09:35

We are waiting for UCL and Durham for Natural Sciences. My ds has offers from Bath and Leeds. Leeds came the quickest.

stoneysongs · 19/02/2024 09:38

DD waiting for Warwick and UCL.. more than 4 months since the application went in but I know they have a while yet before the deadline. I hope they come soon enough for an offer holder day because she really needs them. She hasn't even been to a subject talk for the UCL course due to last minute mind changing Hmm

TippingPointing · 19/02/2024 10:18

DD is still waiting on Edinburgh, St Andrews and Strathclyde. I suspect we will be waiting until at least April which is tough.

Hapagirl48 · 19/02/2024 10:36

DD is waiting for Edinburgh and Heriot Watt still. I’m also concerned about offer holders day because like PP my daughter had a last minute change of heart of course though we have been to the Edinburgh general open day. Are the Scottish ones taking longer? Maybe for Scottish students because of quotas? It’s a hard waiting game!

shearwater2 · 19/02/2024 10:58

DD1 has just had unconditional offers for Sheffield and Plymouth (has grades in hand from last year) - absolutely delighted and so excited for her. Still hasn't heard from Newcastle or Edinburgh. You snooze, you lose, is basically what I think about those institutions!

Hapagirl48 · 19/02/2024 11:03

I went to Sheffield and my DSIS went to Plymouth (a million years ago). Well done!

Umbilicate · 19/02/2024 11:28

Someone asked me on DM ages ago when my older dc heard from Edinburgh (where she now is and v happy). I said April but someone else asked me at the weekend so I double checked and it was March 20. Which is obviously still ages away and the wait was interminable but keep the faith, the offers will come! Scottish unis mainly do take longer, as (often) do Durham, UCL, Imperial - it's frustrating but worth the wait.

GMH1974 · 19/02/2024 13:04

@Cantonet We're also waiting for UCL for Psychology. We've had offers from everywhere else she applied.

Wronginformation · 19/02/2024 13:45

MerchSwyddEfrog, funny, dd got bath nat science offer before Xmas but Durham only last week

legobrickseverywhere · 19/02/2024 15:47

Waiting for Warwick, Edinburgh, and St A. Have a Durham and Bristol offer.
Like sitting in a waiting room and waiting for your name to be called…

MerchSwyddEfrog · 19/02/2024 16:12

@Wronginformation my ds got Bath in early Jan so hoping we hear from Durham soon. Leeds was in October!

Cx5 · 19/02/2024 16:34

Final offer from St.A has just came in for one of my DSs. Just waiting for Imperial now for other DS. They both have offers from Warwick, Durham and Edinburgh.

Cantonet · 19/02/2024 16:36

GMH1974 · 19/02/2024 13:04

@Cantonet We're also waiting for UCL for Psychology. We've had offers from everywhere else she applied.

Did you apply to Bath & Bristol ?
To be fair he did apply in January, so things might be a little later.
