Happy new year to all 2024 St Andrews hopefuls!

Gearing up for a few months worrying about DS’s UCAS Uni offers. His first choice is St Andrews, then Exeter, Durham, Glasgow and he has had an offer from Newcastle. All for Classical Studies (always small cohorts). He’s at an independent school in Scotland on a scholarship, and predicted 3 As. He’s also contextual as a young carer, helping to look after me (I have MS and, this year, breast cancer). I desperately want him to get some good offers as I am feeling terribly guilty about the level of impact the caring has had on him and his studying both practically and emotionally.

Hoping St Andrews might give us an early ish offer as a home contextual, but nothing yet, though they have been in touch late Dec to say his carer status has been verified. There are so many applying with A star grades though, so not sure how his application will go.

Would love to hear of any St As offers coming through.

Still waiting although ds has decided he doesn't want to go there now so it's not really important

That’s always the risk of processing the majority of offers fairly late in the timetable, I bet there’s a fair few students get fed up waiting and firm elsewhere or just go off the university.

Ds is a RUK waiting on History. Obviously this is one of the popular courses. He has Warwick, York and Nottingham offers.

We are also still waiting for history. He has 4 other decent offers but will wait it out and see.

DS3 didn't get his History offer until 21st of March ( home student).

DD still waiting to hear back for history. Has offers for 4 other unis but this is her first choice. Reading the thread I’m not hopeful for St Andrews but at least she has 4 other decent offers.

It's a very good history department, very wide range of modules, DS3 liked it so much he stayed on to do a Masters.

Has anyone had a response for History at St Andrews yet?

There are some on the spreadsheet, though not many. Mainly international and Home students. Wish they’d hurry up with the Classics home offers/decisions!

We are waiting on Classical Studies here as well. Only know of one Classics offer for someone in DC’s class, which they received on Friday afternoon. Fingers crossed this is the start but definitely trickling out. DC only knows of around 12 offers from St Andrews across the subjects so far and 2 rejections.

It’s classical studies we are waiting for too. Are you home status? DS is home and contextual. Really would just like an answer one way or another at this stage! Good luck to your DC!

Any RUK received an offer or rejection for Computer Science? Like everyone else, just want to know either way now.

@Innisfree Yes, we are Scottish non contextual. We have had replied from the other 4 choices and it would be good to have everything in and choices firmed before Easter and exam cycle starts. Have you heard back from Durham ? Good luck to your DS - it’s always nice to see another student looking at Classics.

Thankyou, we are still waiting for Durham and St Andrews. Have contextual offers from Exeter and Glasgow, and a non contextual offer from Newcastle.

DS was very impressed by the classics offering at Exeter and St Andrews, but also likes the collegiate approach at Durham. Just got to be patient, which DS seems to be ok with. I’m the impatient one! Let me know if you hear anything - keeping fingers crossed for your DC.

Dd is RUK and has a nice low AAB offer for Arabic & Persian which she will likely reject as it is not her first choice, which is also an AAB offer…

DS is RUK and got a Maths offer few weeks ago. Still waiting on Edinburgh.

Still waiting for international relations.
The offer holder day is creeping up- would like to plan for it but can't.

Waiting for an Economics offer here. Anyone else received theirs yet?
