Well.done loosing the plot ds!

Dd had a nottingham interview invite too.

Ib1234567 · 13/12/2023 18:00

Congratulation to all who got interviews , and good luck for everyone waiting . We are waiting for Southampton , they are taking their time !

speedyhedgehog · 13/12/2023 18:05

We're waiting on Southampton (and st andrews) too. It's on the Southampton website that interviews will be late Jan / early Feb so I won't be surprised if we don't hear for a while.

OwlMother · 13/12/2023 19:23

Glasgow has started to send out offers. Ds got his this evening, friends heard earlier today. He's very pleased although it's not his first choice.

OwlMother · 13/12/2023 20:26

I've realised that sounds very dismissive, when of course he's delighted and lucky to get any offer at all.

losingtheplot999 · 13/12/2023 20:32

@speedyhedgehog well done to DD on interview at Nottingham and to everyone else who has received interviews this week. Hopefully January interviews will be informed before the Christmas break.

It doesn't sound dismissive at all obviously all DC are going to have their first choice but as long as they get one offer that is all that matters.

Sybill · 13/12/2023 21:27

Congrats to him @OwlMother , lovely news to get this side of Christmas! And good luck for all the new interviews coming through.

DD had first interview today and thought it was ok (which is as good as it will ever be from her so I’m happy with that 😂) Next 2 are in January and then the wait continues…

ipredictariot5 · 13/12/2023 21:48

@OwlMother when did your DS interview? My DD had hers today for Glasgow

OwlMother · 13/12/2023 21:59

@ipredictariot5 Two weeks ago. I think he was one of the first. Fingers crossed for your Dd. How did she think she'd done?

Groundhogday2021 · 13/12/2023 22:16

Congrats to your son @OwlMother! Good to hear of offers coming out before Christmas for some. Hope others waiting to hear about interviews have some luck in the New Year too 🤞

speedyhedgehog · 13/12/2023 23:20

Congrats OwlMothers DS! What a lovely Christmas present!

Habbibu · 14/12/2023 00:12

Congratulations, Owlmother's DS!

OwlMother · 14/12/2023 05:02

Thank you all. He's heading off to interview three today with a serious spying in his step!

Good luck to everyone with interviews coming up, and those still waiting to hear. I do think, like others have said, that there has to be a better way of doing this. Ds has his last interview on Monday while some Unis are yet to start the process. And then all the waiting while they should be focused on the all important exams. Horrible process.

losingtheplot999 · 14/12/2023 06:41

@OwlMother I totally agree re the interview process. DS2 had one interview 2 weeks ago, two interviews this week and then one in January. Some of his friends haven't heard back from any unis yet so they could theoretically get four interviews in January. Medicine application is all new to me but it really could be done so much better than this.

Africa2go · 14/12/2023 11:10

I think Scotland does it better than England in general - as evidenced by the early offers. They seem to get interviews done much quicker, offers are processed much quicker - it was the same last year. But I agree that the whole system needs overhaul.

speedyhedgehog · 14/12/2023 15:53

My Dd has got an interview date through for St. Andrew's today. Its for January so she has 3 confirmed for January now waiting on Southampton who have said theirs will be late Jan/ early Feb. She's very happy.

mumsneedwine · 14/12/2023 17:22

Huge congratulations on all the interviews and lovely early offers. It's a tough process, but will be worth it in the end. And gets them ready for what's to come once they qualify !
Things seem nicely back to normal again. Which after the last few years is very welcome. I know it's hard to imagine but this year is nice compared to the last 2 !
Hopefully everyone will have heard from everywhere by March. Not July like last year. So far seem less waiting lists too.

That's great news @speedyhedgehog! Very busy January for you, are they all in person?

In person is great but does eat up a lot of time. We are still waiting for ds to return from his interview, he left the house at 0520 this morning- very long day. Quite hard to keep focussed on school and studying when this year is so fragmented.

Notcontent · 15/12/2023 17:28

DD finally got an invitation from QMUL today but still waiting for UCL.

ipredictariot5 · 15/12/2023 18:31

my DD has done Sunderland Glasgow and Manchester this week. Sunderland very friendly but most formal. The other two were relaxed friendly and chatty ( though a few tough questions) She forgot herself though at the start of the third interview when she walked in and told the interviewer that she loved her Christmas jumper and wasted time talking about Christmas jumpers generally 😂

Notcontent · 15/12/2023 18:44

@ipredictariot5 wow, that’s quite a gruelling week! But really good to get it out of the way. DD’s interviews are very spread out - one today and two in January (two weeks apart)

losingtheplot999 · 15/12/2023 18:51

DS2 had interview at Leicester today and just one more left which is UCL end of January.

Notcontent · 15/12/2023 19:24

If TSR is to be trusted then dd should get one from UCL but no news yet… 😟

Mumofboys2006 · 15/12/2023 20:44

Well done on the QMUL interview @Notcontent !

we still haven’t heard. Can I ask what your DD’s UCAT was? I’m keeping my fingers crossed!🤞🏼
