The other thread is nearly full so I took the liberty of starting a new one...

Oh, and your DS, hadn't read to the end of the thread!

beeswain · 06/07/2024 15:19

Wonderful news from both dd and ds @pivoinerose many congratulations!

DahliaMacNamara · 06/07/2024 18:10

Excellent news, @pivoinerose . Well done to both your DC.
DD, a bit like your DS, would have me tarred and feathered if I was too specific about anything, but I'm probably safe to say that her dire predictions about her finals were unfounded, and we're all very pleased for her. Like others on this thread, the papers she thought most problematic were the ones she did best in. Very strange.

mutterphore · 06/07/2024 21:33

@pivoinerose very well done to your DS too!

@DahliaMacNamara it sounds like your DD has also had some brilliant news and I hope she's celebrating tonight!

LaundryFairy · 06/07/2024 22:18

Congratulations to your DD, @DahliaMacNamara . I’m so glad it went well for her.

I’ve long been a follower (and occasional poster) on this thread and the Oxbridge applicants one, and it is hard to explain how heartening it is to read everyone’s stories about their DCs’ perseverance and achievements (often in truly difficult circumstances). Also the support and advice I have found here has been invaluable at times.

pivoinerose · 06/07/2024 23:31

More thanks to people and many many congratulations to your DD DahliaMacNamara - so good to hear of all these young people leaving this particular chapter on a high.

LaundryFairy · 09/07/2024 09:20

Results through for DS this morning and greatly relieved that he’s got what he needs to carry on to his masters. He’s just managed a first - there are a couple of high 2:1s in there, but he got a good solid first on his dissertation. It’s been quite a difficult few months for him, and we’re just so pleased that he gets to carry on working in subject that he loves.

mutterphore · 09/07/2024 10:51

Congratulations to your DS @LaundryFairy ! That's excellent news!

pivoinerose · 09/07/2024 11:20

Fantastic news LaundryFairy!

PettsWoodParadise · 09/07/2024 12:24

Panicmode1 · 09/07/2024 12:30

Thanks very much for the congratulations. We’ve been for a celebratory lunch and it was so nice to be able to talk about DS’ next year with certainty.

That's lovely news, @LaundryFairy .

Hi, hope it’s ok to join this thread as DD starting at C in October. She will need a new coat and so trying to to understand if the college puffer is ubiquitous or naff??!! If the former then with or without initials? Thanks

HoneyMobster · 15/07/2024 11:17

Both my two have / had college puffers with initials. They are fans of college stash!

TravellingLightToday · 15/07/2024 12:25

Everyone in DC's circle have college puffers with initials and those get worn literally all the time.

Panicmode1 · 15/07/2024 12:40

Mine "wouldn't be seen dead in one" so I guess it's horses for courses 😂.

Congratulations to your DC @Cremebrulee45
