@Revengeofthepangolins Huge congrats on the offer! What a fabby way to start the weekend. As you say, I hope it gives your DS a boost.

@Revengeofthepangolins that's such great news. The first offer just feels like such a relief

DS got an email from Kings asking him to send proof of his Maths A Level certificate. Turns out they haven't even been sent out yet. They only have the transcript of the result and Kings wanted the certificate that doesn't exist.

He still hasn't heard back again from Kings and then the Warwick offer came thank god because all his friends were getting offers from places like Bristol and York for other courses so he was a bit on edge

It is hard when everyone is talking about offers. Even though they know that subjects differ in timing, it is hard to be that rational when in the flow of it all.

Ha yes same.

Kings have a portal you're meant to check with directly

So their request for the Maths A Level cert was in the this portal

His friend told him about the Kings portal which DS them checked

Def not Warwick or Oxford

Luckily DS2 doesn't seem to be tuning in to the chat, which is good for him, but not for my nosiness

In fact when DS checked his Kings Portal he had missed their deadline to send them the non existent certificate by

DD3 just about got her history essay submitted to Oxford today (last day!). Faffing about what to put on the cover sheet till the last minute fgs.

But then she got an offer from St Andrews and very pleased with that. Takes the pressure off the Oxford application as she’d really like to go there!

Congratulations on DS’s Kings offer @Revengeofthepangolins. Funny that he hadn’t noticed it sitting there. These kids are here to try us! 😂

DD had her Warwick offer today for chemistry!

Yay that's such good news

DD got an email about a remote interview workshop from the Oxford outreach team today, if she gets shortlisted she can attend the workshop which I'm sure will be very helpful.

@catmomof3 that sounds to me like they're very interested in having her and therefore want her to do her very best to secure her place

I hope so but I think it's because she is contextual, either way just have to hope she gets shortlisted so she can attend the workshop because atm she's been so busy with her NEA work she's not done any interview practice. Her school has an interview evening next week which will also come in handy.

We were surprised because we thought the Scottish unis worked through the Scottish applicants first, so didn’t really expect to hear till next year. Maybe it’s because she applied for Ancient & Medieval history, which is a much smaller subject.

She also got that email from UCAS that tells you something has changed today with regard to Edinburgh, but it was just an email saying they’d received her application (which was submitted weeks ago!) and would consider it.

Managed finally to get hold of my son's MAT reg number for the resit next week. He really wants to do it as us super keen on Oxford, but is feeling very happy he has three offers from Sheffield, York and Durham.

At last ds has a first offer from Warwick. He seems relieved.
