That's our first (only need one!) offer from Aberdeen come through...she was actually crying....so stressful! Good luck everyone!!!

Great news. Well done!

mumsneedwine · 24/01/2023 16:08

@Pip4764 Fantastic news. Can relax a bit now. Hope everyone else doing ok. It will be over soon 😊

opoponax · 24/01/2023 17:30

We are three interviews down and one to go this week. Mocks nearly done too. Roll on half term! 😴

@Pip4764
That's lovely to hear - I can well imagine tears of relief, great news.

DD had the Cardiff online interview this afternoon which seemed to go ok. She got cut off mid flow a couple of times ( once on quite a funny place to stop) as there was no timer on screen and we didn’t think to put a clock nearby. Would like to hear either way now from Southampton so she can just get on with A levels. Sounds like she is lucky with timings in that her mocks don’t start for another few days but I know interview prep has impacted her revision. On a brighter note she has made some nice plans for the summer so that’s lifted her mood.

UnclearNuclear · 24/01/2023 18:53

RUK Glasgow offer for dd today! She is delighted - so am I as I virtually grew up at Glasgow Uni (mum worked there).

kackle · 24/01/2023 19:22

Great news! Well done

Africa2go · 24/01/2023 19:54

@UnclearNuclear Brilliant!

opoponax · 24/01/2023 19:55

Big congratulations to your DD @UnclearNuclear . Is she also waiting for Cambridge tomorrow or have I mixed you up with another poster?

OP posts:
UnclearNuclear · 24/01/2023 20:27

Yes, that's me. She's not expecting a C offer as interview was not great and her BMAT was middling. But only needed one offer Smile

opoponax · 24/01/2023 20:30

@UnclearNuclear well it's fantastic that the Glasgow one came in today. You absolutely only need one offer and she has it!

OP posts:
Monkey2001 · 24/01/2023 21:20

Congrats @UnclearNuclear what a relief to have one in the bag!

kk10 · 24/01/2023 22:13

@Pip4764 great news! Congratulations 👏🏽👏🏽 Must be such a huge relief

justjuggling · 24/01/2023 23:53

Congrats to your DDs @UnclearNuclear and @Pip4764 - lovely news!

Pip4764 · 25/01/2023 06:18

@UnclearNuclear congratulations as well!!

Thethingswedoforlove · 25/01/2023 07:48

@Pip4764 @UnclearNuclear genuinely so happy to hear your news. Well done those dcs. And all best for today too @UnclearNuclear

coffeeandbiscuittime · 25/01/2023 09:15

Congratulations to those with offers.
One more interview to do and then it's just the wait.
Its horrendous this wait - at least for most job interviews you get the result on the same day ( in Nursing at least😂) .
It certainly tests their commitment and resilience.

Monkey2001 · 25/01/2023 12:52

Thinking of the Cambridge people. I hated this day!

Cratos · 25/01/2023 13:53

Congratulations to those with offers. Well done. What a relief.
My DS is about to have his first face to face interview.

Lottsbiffandsmudge · 25/01/2023 15:15

DS rejected by Cambridge. Not a great surprise. Not great to find out on the way to Sheffield interview. But he thinks it went OK. One more to go on 7th Feb then just a wait and hope one of his 3 says yes...

MerchSwyddEfrog · 25/01/2023 16:01

@Lottsbiffandsmudge Really sorry to hear that but hoping that he gets a place from his other Universities.

opoponax · 25/01/2023 16:19

@Lottsbiffandsmudge sorry about Cambridge but good for your DS not letting it affect his Sheffield interview.

I've only really recently found this thread and I so wish I'd found it sooner. Congratulations to all those with interviews and offers.

DS has had an email to say he is 'on hold'. Could someone explain what this means for me?

opoponax · 25/01/2023 17:23

Which uni is the hold for @IGoWalkingAfterMidnight ?

OP posts:
NoNotHimTheOtherOne · 25/01/2023 17:32

@IGoWalkingAfterMidnight - If the message says "on hold", the most likely explanation is that the final threshold for invitation to interview hasn't been set yet. If you tell us which university it is, someone will probably know how they select for interview.

Monkey2001 · 25/01/2023 18:01

@IGoWalkingAfterMidnight it is usually Bristol which tells people they are on hold. It means the cut off is not finalised and the applicant is not at the top or bottom of the cohort.
