Not sure if there is already a thread on this? My son is hoping to apply to Cambridge for Computer Science for October 2023 start.

@Azure my DS is also applying for classics but at Cambridge. What other unis are options for your DS?

He's put down Durham, Warwick, Exeter and Nottingham. What about your DS?

DeadDonkey · 24/09/2022 16:04

DS (PPE) Manchester, York, Lancaster and Aberdeen. Other than Oxford he doesn’t want to go south. Manchester is his second choice.

juicy0 · 24/09/2022 16:36

@Azure Durham, Exeter, St Andrews and Edinburgh I think

Lostinabba · 24/09/2022 16:53

How soon do Oxford applicants hear if they've been offered an interview? Does it differ by course?
DD is making her early application and then adding her other choices in later.

DahliaMacNamara · 24/09/2022 16:58

I think it differs by subject. I have a memory of being the last one standing on this kind of thread two years ago, when everyone around me had either interviews or rejections.

Here is the provisional interview timetable

Thank you

Physing · 25/09/2022 21:12

Thanks for that provisional interview timetable. Does anyone know when they might hear if they are invited for interview. There seems to be a long gap between the test and the potential interviews. What has happened previous years?

Revengeofthepangolins · 25/09/2022 22:02

You hear late. As I recall it can be as tight as a week before

Can anyone recommend an Italian in Oxford? Am having a half term visit down south with an overnight stop there and taking all my DC, so need something to keep them all happy.

HewasH20 · 28/09/2022 20:14

DD's Italian BF takes her to Gino's.

OnePlusOneEquals · 28/09/2022 20:23

Thanks @HewasH2O

balzamico · 28/09/2022 22:06

Is anyone doing applying for history? Dd has made a really last minute decision to apply to Oxford and done her application, we've not visited yet and I'm wondering if there are past papers for the HAT exam 🙏

Several on here, as well as other advice on preparation for the test.

Purpleheadgirl · 29/09/2022 10:51

How's everyone's LNAT been going?

OnePlusOneEquals · 30/09/2022 20:50

Well, personal statement finished, UCAS form submitted and I glad it’s all sorted. Just need 6th form to do their bit now. So that gives him just over 4 weeks to finish the past PAT papers and brush up on where he’s letting points slip.

fUNNYfACE36 · 03/10/2022 05:22

UCAS done.Tomorrow she goes yo the head teacher's office to check the reference and predicted grades are correct, then they ceremoniously press the button together and send it off to UCAS.Final choices are Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, Bath and Newcastle.

juicy0 · 03/10/2022 10:22

Good luck to your DC @fUNNYfACE36 @OnePlusOneEquals and everyone else who is pressing the submit button this week.
DS sent his on Friday and feels pleased the process is underway although he did change his mind last minute on one of his choices and opted for KCL over Durham.

buckleten · 03/10/2022 17:43

Everything done here, just waiting for the school's reference and then for the submit button to be pressed! BMAT looming...

Incrediblebuttrue · 03/10/2022 17:51

Just checking - the deadline is 15th October, isnt it?? Everyone seems very organized....

OnePlusOneEquals · 03/10/2022 18:13

It is yes @Incrediblebuttrue but some schools and sixth forms have their own internal deadlines so they can check them and add references etc and submit before the actual deadline to make sure all is ok.
