Will they make the grades? How will grades be awarded anyway? What the hell are Cambridge up to with that nasty little clause?

That's interesting to know @goodbyestranger, thanks. I think I am getting more anxious than DS (or he is just good at hiding it)!

Jalfrezi · 06/08/2021 11:54

I'm pretty sure DD will still be dead to the world at 7.30am! She doesn't normally surface till midday. She's also expecting to meet her offer and I don't think has looked beyond not doing so. In fact, she doesn't want to go to her insurance at all (not least because it is for a different course) and only put it down as it was the only offer lower than Oxford. Up till now I had been feeling pretty confident she would be fine but those horrible doubts are starting to creep in that something strange will happen on results day.

JulesJules · 06/08/2021 17:36

Last year D1 couldn't get onto Track in the morning, it wouldn't load due to the amount of traffic. In the end she left us still refreshing the page while she ran (literally) to school. She got the email from her (Oxford) college just as she got to school so she knew she'd got in before she knew what her grades were. She texted us - and we still hadn't been able to get onto Track, I think it was another half an hour or so.

I'm feeling lucky that my DS mostly did Scottish exams so not only was his offer on last years results, but this year the school's recommendations were accepted so we got the results at the end of term. I really feel for everyone waiting, and I'm crossing my fingers that students will have got the results and recommendations predicted/recommended by the schools.

The only result we are still waiting for is one Pre-U exam. Does that come Tuesday as well?

DeRigueurMortis · 07/08/2021 23:10

DS (after exam issues posted upthread) is sure he's going to his insurance so he's pretty non-invested in results day other than to get it over with.

Truth is we won't know until the 10th but I feel lucky that he's got a great insurance.

Good luck to to everyone.

I genuinely hope after this stressful journey and very supportive thread that as many of your children as possible are successful in their application even if DS and I are not amongst that group Thanks

whiteroseredrose · 07/08/2021 23:43

DD has asked if her friendship group can sleep over on Tuesday night. They are all either Oxbridge or Medicine candidates so I really hope that they are all successful otherwise it will be a nightmare.

DeRigueurMortis · 09/08/2021 17:01

Rose. Oh that's tricky.....

You might want to prepare her for the fact that some of her friends might not be up to it if results don't go their way.

I sincerely hope that's not the case though and they have a wonderful sleepover celebration x

JulesJules · 09/08/2021 18:15

Good luck everyone, got my fingers firmly crossed for you all Gin

KaptainKaveman · 09/08/2021 18:15

Good luck for tomorrow everyone. It's been really difficult and your dc have endured a lot. This time last year dd1 was awaiting her results, and dd2 has her GCSE results this Thursday.
Good luck all Smile

RunnersTipple · 09/08/2021 18:35

Good luck to all the offspring. Have just given DS the last minute 'whatever happens tomorrow we are proud of all the work you have put in' talk. He rolled his eyes.

Hoghgyni · 09/08/2021 20:29

Good luck everyone.

mutterphore · 09/08/2021 21:10

Good luck to everyone for tomorrow's results. Hope everyone has a great outcome. Have been through similar twice with two DCs and I know just how nail-biting it can be.

whiteroseredrose · 09/08/2021 22:38

Fingers crossed for all. In less than 10 hours we should know...

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/08/2021 07:30

Just popping on to wish you all luck.

SandyBayley · 10/08/2021 07:40

Remember this day well

Jalfrezi · 10/08/2021 08:16

Good luck to everyone. No movement from DD here yet. We've been told email from school between 8.30 and 9am. Wonder who will be the first to update?

Unescorted · 10/08/2021 08:23

Good luck everyone!

Sunndowne · 10/08/2021 08:38

DS confirmed for Oxford - phew! He’s off to school now with a spring in his step to get his results.

Sunndowne · 10/08/2021 08:42

Open now. My niece is in to LSE. Not fished from pool at C. So great news.

Sunndowne · 10/08/2021 08:42
