Just volunteered to supervise DS making lasagne. Having just been out food shopping for us, he said he felt too tired Hmm. I have visions of him living on total junk food for a couple of weeks when he first goes away!

@TapasForTwo it's probably good option for some!!

....do we know the food is mediocre? At York it's a food court so lots of choices from different food outlets. I guess it's not school dinner style food anyway.

Anyway as someone else mentioned, there isn't always a choice especially in collegiate unis.
So you know, we are making the best of it!

At York, the catered accommodation is as cheap as the self catering accommodation in some other colleges so it's also going to save a lot of money. The campus shop is very expensive and it's a bus ride to a decent supermarket. So as DD is living on campus, I'm quite glad she's getting weekday breakfast and evening meals at least.

I feel really wobbly today ... I have a colcoscopy at hospital this afternoon.. I'm moving house, work is manic and DS off to Nottingham on 21st ... he's my first to go as DD stayed living at home and studied locally Confused

Oh no @Alicatz66. Come and join us on the most recent thread for some support and TLC. Good luck with your hospital appointment. It sounds as if you've got a lot going on.
