New thread, I hope it's okay to start one.

Good luck today for those still waiting for interview news, which includes us.

Congratulations to those already with dates.

Durham Law offer just in for DS (AAA). Softens the blow for tomorrow I guess.

Puzzledmum · 08/01/2019 18:33

Aurea - congratulations to your DS for his offer! My DD also got her last offer today from Imperial. Just Oxford left tomorrow and she can concentrate on studying for her exams.
Good luck to all DC tomorrow!!!

Aurea · 08/01/2019 19:10

Puzzledmum - congrats back. Great news!

Hope tomorrow brings great news to all.

celtiethree · 08/01/2019 20:22

Aurea I’m in Scotland and looking ahead to requirements for younger DC after navigating one through last year. Is the Durham offer for 3A at AH ?

Aurea · 08/01/2019 20:36

Yes I'm afraid the standard offer for law at Durham is AAA at Advanced Higher which is a tall offer.

Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen gave unconditional offers for 5As and a B at Higher.

Still to hear from Oxford though.......tomorrow...eek.......

celtiethree · 08/01/2019 20:40

Poor Scottish students!! Good luck for tomorrow!

Jano69 · 08/01/2019 21:04

Best of luck for Oxford applicants tomorrow. There's about 18 boys at DS's school expecting emails tomorrow.

DS has to wait until Monday to hear back from Cambridge to study History.

Counting down the days and feeling increasingly nervous.

PantTwizzler · 08/01/2019 21:59

The waiting is awful! Dd has thankfully been nicely distracted with a trip abroad with friends over the holidays. I hope and pray the results are available before she leaves for school tomorrow...

(Way back in the last century I got a phone call and before Christmas from Oxford. So much kinder!)

goodbyestranger · 08/01/2019 22:28

DD1 got a phone call before Christmas too. DD2 , DD3 and DS1 also all heard before Christmas although by letter. This after Christmas thing is new fangled for Oxford.

Hope things go well tomorrow.

Runzilla · 08/01/2019 23:09

Good luck, everyone, and thanks for the company on this thread. Whatever happens tomorrow it's been a great comfort knowing others are going through the same! xx

Lumpy76 · 08/01/2019 23:31

Good luck everyone! Parents and offspring! I’m more nervous than I was for DD’s GCSE results - trying desperately NOT to think about it and feeling actually sick when I do! We’ve said it’s take away tomorrow of DDs choice whether it be celebratory or to commiserate. Whatever happens DD has grown through the experience and shown herself that she is capable of doing things she thought she couldn’t - that in itself has been probably the most important lesson of all! Thanks to everyone here for the support through the process xx

Hubbleisback · 08/01/2019 23:33

For us it was an email about 10, then checked UCAS which had been updated and then a single page letter half an hour later. (Oxford) Thinking of you all and remembering my sleepless night. Lots of cups of hot chocolate!! Flowers

PantTwizzler · 09/01/2019 00:17

Ten am?! Yikes, was banking on it being before school.

Hubbleisback · 09/01/2019 00:25

PantTwizzler keep your eye on UCAS if you don't get an early email.

Morning ! So ‘early’ means 10 for those lasers in Oxford ?
That’s when I hear my stomach rumbling for lunchtime again... never mind.Good luck everyone.

Couchpotato3 · 09/01/2019 06:36

Aaaaaaarrgh! Been awake since silly o'clock. DS isn't up yet.

Lumpy76 · 09/01/2019 07:09

10....Shock DH already has an upset stomach (he has ibs and nerves are THE worst thing that sets it off) - he’s gone to work and I’ve got the usual school run with the Primary kids. Argh Confused

LIZS · 09/01/2019 08:08

Good luck to the Oxford candidates.

ifonly4 · 09/01/2019 08:22

Another wishing them all good luck. DD knows a few at school waiting for results this morning.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 09/01/2019 08:29

I'm a lurker (DS isn't an Oxbridge applicant although many of his school friends are) wishing all the DC (and parents on here) good luck for Oxford outcomes today and Cambridge ones next week.

bengalcat · 09/01/2019 08:49

Best wishes to those awaiting offers today x

Gettingthroughtheweek · 09/01/2019 08:58

Good news here- offer from St Johns for Dc - really niche subject so don’t want to out them but phew! Shows don’t need completely stellar grades - just all consuming interest.

PantTwizzler · 09/01/2019 09:06

Wow getting - that’s fantastic! Congrats to DC & you! How did the news arrive? (Still fretting here...)

Gettingthroughtheweek · 09/01/2019 09:20

It was an email from the College. They had said 1pm but was actually there at 9.00.
