Hi a new thread with DC applying to Vet Med next year or for anyone with DC already studying who could pass on some words of wisdom!

My DD is looking to apply to Cambridge, Surrey, Nottingham and Bristol.
She has a fair amount of work experience arranged already and we will do the open day circuit next year.

Dd just got invitation for interview at Liverpool 😊
So how's everyone dc preparing for interviews, where do they start.
Dd has looked up mmi but all seems to be medicine related not vet med 😕

Mine too 😁. Was so pleased to hear from anyone ! Preparation will involve keeping her calm - rest of stuff I'll leave to her. Hotel booked as it's a long way from us. Congrats. So lovely to see her smile.

Just seen that Edinburgh and harper/keele have started sending invites out today too.
Dd has not applied to Harper/Keele but has to Edinburgh so hopefully she will hear from them soon x

Great news on the Liverpool interviews, my dd got one too. I don’t think you can prepare for mmi very easily but she is having a practice interview at school next week. I don’t think it hurts to take any chance to talk to strangers about why she wants to be a vet etc. It looks like lots of interview offers are coming out now, which is a relief as it s awful when you hear nothing at all!

DD just received an interview offer from Cambridge. No news from Notts or Bristol so far.

Great news 3cats, and good luck for the Surrey interview tomorrow, we’ve got a very long drive so it will be an early start.

That's fantastic news !!!!! Good luck for tomorrow. And sure she'll do great at Cambridge too. We are still waiting for 3 so v grateful for Liverpool interview. DD seems to have just out it out of her head

Thank you! We’ve been so focussed on the Surrey interview that the Liverpool one has crept up too! DD has just had a mock interview with her chemistry teacher’s neighbour who is a vet, which was a very kind offer!

Dd has Liverpool interview but still not heard back from the other 3.
A mock interview is a fab idea, shame we don't have anyone to ask who would know what vet mmi interviews would be like.

Thanks Bati. I’m waiting calmly (not!) at home while my husband drives her back - it’s a 3 hour drive so I will be waiting some time! The mock interview was not mock mmi, I don’t think you can replicate that. The vet didn’t even know what mmi stands for! He just asked her lots about different issues. He’d also grown up on a farm so I think he was very interested in hearing about our farm!

How did the Surrey interviews go yesterday x

Dd had a good day. She enjoyed the interview, and it sounds really interesting but not anything you can really prepare for. She also enjoyed meeting some fellow applicants as she doesn’t know anyone else applying. It sounds like it was very well organised. Just over a week until Liverpool 🙂

My DD just got her Surrey offer AAB updated on track no email - so relieved :):)
