Looks like we need a new thread.

Thanks Goodbye for your good wishes and well done to your DC for their amazing results. Nerves are so kicking in right now. Confused

Thesearepearls · 15/08/2018 22:16

I might complain that it is very inconvenient that DS is currently in China

This means emails are slow and censored. There is a log-on facility at school which DS has deliberately and with malice aforethought refused to activate

So I guess I will find out whether DS's chemistry exam went as badly as he thought sometime next week.

meanwhile I am here to celebrate and commiserate as required

Knowing you lot I know that I will be celebrating more than commiserating

goodbyestranger · 15/08/2018 22:18

Give me Track any time - by 7.30am I know for sure. The DCs' school only ever opens at 9am.

goodbyestranger · 15/08/2018 22:21

Hubble thank you. I'm struggling to think of a DC of mine who didn't have at least a couple of bad exams at A Level, honestly. I'm far more confident than you, clearly! Looking forward to hearing good things in the morning :)

STEPmum18 · 15/08/2018 22:25

I've been very good and not said much to DS about results but I'm suddenly very nervous for him. His school is open from 8am but he says he's going in "around 9ish". How can he wait?! He's also said he's not looking at STEP results or the UCAS site until he's got his actual A level results. I'm smiling and saying that it's up to him 😀but really I want him to find out as early as possible.☹ Whatever he decides, it's not long now. Hope everyone manages some sleep and best wishes to all (students and patents!) tomorrow.

STEPmum18 · 15/08/2018 22:27

That should obviously have said students and parents. I can no longer function properly.😂

toomanytolist · 15/08/2018 22:44

Good luck to everyone. We're nearly there!

HeyBells · 15/08/2018 23:14

Not posted for a long time. I think DS will be a near miss for the A* he needs in further maths due to a tricky paper, but lots of people seem to have found FM hard. His college said a while ago to send UMS in if near miss, so they may not have decided yet on those.

I got no answer when asking DS his plans for tomorrow. Am on standby, school opens at 9.

Good Luck everyone!

YippeeTeenager · 15/08/2018 23:25

Good luck everyone. We’re getting up at 6.15 so as to be at school for 7.15 when it opens. I think DD has decided she’d rather pick up her results first before checking emails and trying track. Hope she sleeps now. Best of luck to you all Flowers

HesMyLobster · 15/08/2018 23:26

Thinking of the STEPers. Are any of you staying up til after midnight to check results?
I'm here for handholding if you are as DD wants to stay up until her friend has checked.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/08/2018 23:33

yup.
But I'm not sure if I'll post here straight away after, it depends on how I feel. dd will be very happy wherever she goes, but I feel that there's a huge weight of expectation on her and that's going to be difficult to deal with. Been fending off well meaning people this week and trying to keep things on an even keel.

Am up at 6:15 too so that can meet dd at college.

It's a hard thing to face for all of us but it's so much harder for our DC

Good luck to all of our DC and just remember, Oxbridge is not the end of the story. You'll be fine whereever you go

Love and luck to everyone

All the best

Sx

Hubbleisback · 15/08/2018 23:55

Still up here but not in Step loop. Hope all goes well for those who are. Will be a long night in Hubble household I fear. Although DS has just returned from party a bit the worse for wear!

HesMyLobster · 16/08/2018 00:06

It's today. Shock

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/08/2018 00:20

Hubbleisback · 16/08/2018 00:23

How do DH sleep? Most annoying!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/08/2018 00:27

It's a really good reason to be not be able to sleep! (might sneak downstairs and grab a little whiskey to celebrate!)

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 16/08/2018 00:30

Smilethat's good! Now, go to bed, so you are all in good shape for whatever celebration or support is required of you tomorrow.

HesMyLobster · 16/08/2018 00:30
