Aaaaaaaaand...

DD has an offer. She phoned doing that teenage girl thing where she was so excited that her voice was almost off the register that humans can hear... Like a dog whistle!! Had to get her to repeat it three times!

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 10/01/2018 11:17

The letter has arrived and DD should be home to open it soon. Does the thickness of the contents of the envelope mean anything? I have always assumed one page letters were rejections and the plumper ones were offers. I hope I'm wrong as this is a thin letter Confused
Congratulations to all DC and families and commiserations for Saker's DS

Risotto301 · 10/01/2018 11:19

DS just got his offer from Oxford in UCAS! and it seems to be the college that he chose! So happy for him!
He said he now feels better in med centre!

jaguar67 · 10/01/2018 11:23

Congrats Kitten, FatBottom & Hubble!

Thinking of everyone still waiting xxx

OMG DD has an offer 😮 only she doesn't know yet, I've just checked Track. I have to admit I cried a bit... so very proud of her.

Now the big decisions start 😮😮

jaguar67 · 10/01/2018 11:33

Great news Lucycat !

Lucycat · 10/01/2018 11:34

Only we don't know which college as it doesn't say on UCAS.... if it's Wadham then a definite maybe, Pembroke - a possibly not...

Need a cup of tea...

kaiserschmarrn · 10/01/2018 11:38

Offer from Clare! Can't quite believe it.

Risotto301 · 10/01/2018 11:39

Lucycat, DS somehow could see from Track which college offered him! he said Campus L mean St Catz (the one the chose)!

HarrietSmith · 10/01/2018 11:41

kaiserschmarm my daughter is at Clare and is having an excellent time there.

Lucycat · 10/01/2018 11:44

Hmm nothing like that on her Track, it just says University of Oxford in the 'university or college name' bit.

Still waiting on the postie.
So many congratulations to all those DDs and DSs who have offers. Now the hard begins to secure those grades!

HingleMcCringleberry · 10/01/2018 11:46

Hubble, I've been thinking about your son, as he was potentially headed to my alma mater, and I know he had felt somewhat deflated after some of his experiences. I am so pleased for you guys! What an exciting time.

Lucycat · 10/01/2018 11:50

Found on the Uni college page - it's Wadham!! I wish I could share the joy with a RL person rather than the cats atm 😻

marmiteloversunite · 10/01/2018 11:53

My DD got a rejection for music. Feel sad for her and want to give her a hug. She says she was expecting it but still disappointing.

Well done to everyone with good news.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 10/01/2018 11:57

Ok, there is no correlation between size of envelope and contents therein 😁😁😁😁
DD has been offered a place at Regent's Park College to read Ancient and Modern History. She was pooled there and really liked it. It seems like a better fit for my state school daughter than some of the other colleges.

Risotto301 · 10/01/2018 11:59

sorry to hear that marmite. send my hug to your DD too.

So sorry marmite

itinerant · 10/01/2018 12:09

It’s a no for DS. He’s at home and doesn’t want to talk. Sadly I am at work 30 miles away - just wish I could give him a hug 😢

Hardwickwhite · 10/01/2018 12:10

Congrats to everyone who has what their DC want. DD has a no, and I am absolutely sure that is the best outcome for her at the moment, so am relieved, I think.

marmiteloversunite · 10/01/2018 12:12

I'm sorry Itinerate! Right there with you. Seems so hard to get a rejection without a support system around. Perhaps we need a rejection thread! Confused

jaguar67 · 10/01/2018 12:12

So sorry to hear that Marmite & Itinerant. Sending hugs to you & DCs xx
