Sorry to hear that Saker. At least it makes his decision easier. Xx

Hardwickwhite · 10/01/2018 09:26

Sorry to hear that Saker. At least he has a really positive choice to go to.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/01/2018 09:30

I'm sorry Saker. Manchester is a brilliant place, but it's still sad for him.

Oh no Risotto :(

DD received offer for Biochem from New, Oxford, just now. Crying with joy & relief (her, not me) - and of course v mindful of her friends who weren't invited to interview and those still waiting to hear. So a day of mixed emotions for sure.

Sending virtual hugs and support for all us & our DCs today. Thank goodness at least that the wait is coming to an end and they can all move on.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/01/2018 09:57

That's fab Jaguar Grin congratulations to your dd!

Hello all. I just found this part of the thread. I posted last year. My DD is waiting to hear from Oxford. She has mocks this week so is intending to hurry home at lunchtime to read the letter which should arrive this morning.
Where is our postwoman this morning???!!!???
Luckily she has a great offer to fall back on at UCL but it will still be tough telling people at school etc if she doesn't get in. I think that is one of the worst aspects for DD. She has to go back for an English exam after lunch. So glad it will be over soon.
Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting.

DD's friend just got Cambridge medicine. Nothing for DD yet

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/01/2018 10:25

dd has just had her email from Cambridge for maths.
Accepted at her original college :)

I'm still thinking of you all. It's horrid waiting.
I also feel really bad that our thread will perhaps be a little emptier as we go on through today if people feel they don't want to stay (of course you would be more than welcome to). Remember , you all have brilliant dc to have got to this point.

Kitten that’s fab, well done to dd

Can’t help thinking post was better last year, at least once postman had been you had the letter, waiting for an email that could come anytime feels more drawn out

itinerant · 10/01/2018 10:29

Congratulations Jaguar!! Commiserations Saker 😔
DS on study leave in between mocks and is still in bed I think. What a rollercoaster! Good luck all

Risotto301 · 10/01/2018 10:29

Congrats Kitten and DD!
DS of my very close friend also got his offer for History at Cambridge! So proud and happy for them!

Wish for more good news to come !

itinerant · 10/01/2018 10:30

I have taken to eating everything in the fridge /bread bin that contain sugar and carbs!
Well done to all of you so far and sorry to Saker!

fatbottomgirl67 · 10/01/2018 10:48

Dd got an offer from Oxford. So happy for her

Saker · 10/01/2018 10:49

Well done to those with offers so far. Your Dc's have done brilliantly. Ds1 has an exam this afternoon but I can't say there is much revision going on here, rather dissection of interviews which I suppose was inevitable. He's okay though and we are concentrating on the advantages of the Joint Course. One of his friends has also been rejected for music, the other two are still waiting to hear.

Lucycat · 10/01/2018 10:50

Well done to Kittens DD- still waiting here although DD still isn't sure whether the English course at Oxford is for her. The decision probably won't be hers to make though at just 23% acceptance rate.

Those two unconditionals are a nice warm safety blanket atm 😋

that's ace fatbottom - well done to your dd :)

hang in there marmite, Lucycat and everyone else. You are right Lucycat, that there are huge advantages to courses at other unis too, like not having to cram everything in to mad 8 week short terms.

Good news for our DS :). Congratulations to others receiving offers and so sorry to hear about those with disappointing news.

Tuo · 10/01/2018 10:58

I have taken to obsessively refreshing this thread, since I can't obsessively refresh UCAS!

Congrats to Jaguar, FatBottom and Kitten. Commiserations Saker.

Tuo · 10/01/2018 10:59

X-posted... congrats to you too Hubble.

itinerant · 10/01/2018 11:07

Yay Hubble!!!
