Maybe because it is August tomorrow - but seems to have come round quickly. Had a nice break not thinking about anything since last exam and after full on year choosing, applying, getting rejected, getting offers etc....

Might as well switch off and try and get distracted for the next 18 days....as either way it will be v busy few days/weeks after results to get started on next phase of his life.

PFB -- any old hands out there want to give me a slap?

The wait from 6:30 am (when the results went up on college site) to when Track went live at 8 was pretty awful, but DD got what she needed to get into her first choice.
Phew.

Cherryburn · 18/08/2016 09:14

DD's going to Oxford! So happy and relieved.

SecretSquirrels · 18/08/2016 09:19

Well done to all and fingers crossed for those still in limbo.
I've lurked on this thread and seen all the angst and preparation for plan B. I went through it all with DS1 and it's very stressful.
DS2 got his results at 6am A*AA and is going to his firm choice of York. He had the option of adjustment but is happy with what he has.
Dunlurking so relieved for you and your DS after thinking he was going to miss both of his offers.
Family meal out tonight to celebrate.

Waitingforsherlock · 18/08/2016 09:23

Lurking for ages on this thread. DS got A*AA. I'm so thrilled for him. No application, deferred or otherwise, so gap year it is.

Congrats to all those other dc's. So much stress for everyone concerned... He could log on at 6am but we only went to bed at 2.30 am so a bit groggy all round. I'm sure everyone else feeling equally discombobulated.

Ginmere · 18/08/2016 09:26

DS has just phoned from school with his results and I'm in shock! His required grades for his firm offer at Birmingham was AAB and he has actually got A*AA! So proud I could burst!

oenophilia · 18/08/2016 09:29

what special kind of torture is this? DS still in bed. Don't know if he's logged onto Track yet or not. Have taken tea - was just told to set it down and leave it...

Butteredparsn1ps · 18/08/2016 09:37

Well done everyone! I am a v proud Mum as DD got into her firm, but she is upset because her grade for Art was less than she expected. Now upset that she is upset, despite getting what she needed and feeling guilty Hmm

Diglet · 18/08/2016 09:42

Ginmere. That's brilliant. Is he going to look at adjustment?

TaIkinPeace · 18/08/2016 09:43

secretsquirrels
meet for a coffee when we deliver them to halls ? Grin Wink

PS
DD missed her offer grades but still got her place. (medical reasons, not entirely unexpected)
Do not panic all of those who are still waiting.

Northernlurker · 18/08/2016 09:45

Dd exceeded her offer grades and the email confirming her medicine place came through shortly before we left to get the results. Over the moon!!!!!

Neice has been accepted at her first choice! She's waiting until 10 to get her results so she can go with her brother who is getting his AS results though.

hairymairyfromthedairy · 18/08/2016 09:53

Results much worse than expected - feel in limbo now don't know how to help him

40andfucked · 18/08/2016 09:54

My daughter got two A's and a C in her AS results! So proud!!!

UhtredRagnorsson · 18/08/2016 09:56

DD1 got AAB and an A in her EPQ. The B is one mark off an A so we might go for a remark. Or we might not bother because she doesn't need it for her offer. But conservatoires track still hasn't updated....she's had an email from the RCM asking her to fill in all sorts of stuff for her fees and register for all sorts of stuff on the first day though so they obviously think she's coming... Should we be worried about track still showing conditional? Given that she has exceeded her conditions by a billion miles?

GreatPointIAgreeWithYouTotally · 18/08/2016 09:56

Hairymairy so sorry to hear that. It must be hard amidst all the celebrating. Can you ring the school and get them to advise?

superbaghag · 18/08/2016 09:58

Have been lurking on this thread for 2 weeks and was reading it this morning and swinging from panic - vomit - panic. He logged into UCAS track earlier after insisting he was waiting to get his results and was accepted by his firm. He's gone to pick up his results and we are thrilled. It looked in doubt after a very tricky exam season. Well done to all and good luck.

hairymairyfromthedairy · 18/08/2016 09:58

He's just gone back up with my dh now he's calmed down a bit - hopefully he can speak to someone
My dh looked at grade boundaries & it seems he's very close to a higher grade with all 3 which could get him a clearing place so hoping they will agree a remark is feasable

NickyEds · 18/08/2016 09:59

First stop school with charged up phone to try firm and insurance unis hairy. Then clearing Sad so sorry for your ds.

hobobulate · 18/08/2016 10:01

hairy sorry about your disappointment. Is he going through clearing? One of ds friends did a lot worse than expected, was totally panicking, but has since had 2 offers for good unis through clearing, so all is not lost.

Janjanmama · 18/08/2016 10:01

Dd will do remark on one subject because it's a near miss ( 2 UMS ) which put her off from her firm. Has just called her firm. They promise to wait until end of this month. Anxiety continues.

truemovies · 18/08/2016 10:02

Well done everyone on here, Northerlurker you must be so proud! As I'm sure everyone else is too.

Please share with us what your DC got in for and where they're going because im nosy because it's just exciting! Grin Still 2 yrs away from all this but gearing up to all the knuckle biting.

hairymairyfromthedairy · 18/08/2016 10:04

Thanks he's got no chance of firm choice even if he gets upgraded - slight chance of insurance but more likely clearing place I was hoping I'd feel less sick once the results were in but I feel worse

hairymairyfromthedairy · 18/08/2016 10:06

hobo as it stands I don't think he'd even get a clearing place Sad
Don't know what to advise him really

truemovies · 18/08/2016 10:06

Hairy So sorry to hear It wasn't what you expected. Don't give up on clearing though, he may well end up with something just as good Smile. Be strong.
