Maybe because it is August tomorrow - but seems to have come round quickly. Had a nice break not thinking about anything since last exam and after full on year choosing, applying, getting rejected, getting offers etc....

Might as well switch off and try and get distracted for the next 18 days....as either way it will be v busy few days/weeks after results to get started on next phase of his life.

PFB -- any old hands out there want to give me a slap?

Dd got second choice, there is clearing for first choice. Going for a maccy breakfast and then get results then go from there. She was thinking of changing her choices anyway so is all good whatever happens. Am soo proud of her.
Well done everyone's offspring!

UKcanuck · 18/08/2016 08:17

DD did it! Very proud and relieved. Nail-biting time waiting for UCAS to load and then finding school had emailed results in a format not viewable on iPads (!!) so having to boot up computer, which chose today to reconfigure itself... So not a relaxing time, but the right result!

Good luck to all today finding out their news and making next decisions.

Cocolepew · 18/08/2016 08:18

Track hasn't updated for DD hairy.
The university phone lines don't open until 930.
Well done to everyone, some great results Star

clam · 18/08/2016 08:20

First choice for dd. SO relieved! Off to school for 9am.

NapoleonsNose · 18/08/2016 08:20

DD has just checked track again and has the adjustment button. I think this means that she has exceeded her offer (we don't know the grades yet, school opens at 9). Not sure if she should look elsewhere - she was pretty happy with Reading. She says she'll only look of she's got an A* in anything.

UhtredRagnorsson · 18/08/2016 08:21

Conservatoires track hasn't updated. Annoyingly.

hairymairyfromthedairy · 18/08/2016 08:25

Thanks Coco very frustrating when everyone seems to be getting theirs!
My friend who's daughter applied to the same uni (different course) has had hers

dottygamekeeper · 18/08/2016 08:26

DD has got her firm, so is off to York - we are both shaking with relief. She has now set off on the half hour drive to school to find out what her actual results are - her offer was AAA.

Well done to everyone, and fingers crossed for those people who are still waiting to hear.

Mycatsabastard · 18/08/2016 08:27

Just getting ready to go pick up results but she got her unconditional offer from uni this morning so all happy here!

Paramedic Science starting next year. So bloody proud of her.

Hassled · 18/08/2016 08:33

DS has his Firm!!! My god, the relief.

hobobulate · 18/08/2016 08:38

happy happy happy!! DS got A A A A and A for EPQ and is off to his first choice. So, so happy for him. He worked SO hard.Grin
Well done to those celebrating, hugs and good vibes to those disappointed - hoping all will work out for the best.
Have done lots of crying! Now may try and eat something!

Got to go through this again next week for GCSEs!(although maybe not quite so bad)

poppledopple · 18/08/2016 08:41

hairy - if track has not updated - this means that they have not met their offer but dept is still considering -- your DD needs to get on phone to dept with her grades and where they sit against this years grade boundaries, PS to hand, and why she wants to go there... Good luck - get dialing

Crikey Hobo thats amazing!! Well done to your ds. Results came thourgh a few weeks ago for ds who is off to his firm after a gap year. Congrats to all mn dc who have heard so far and good luck to all those still waiting.
Anyone with dc having to consider a plan B should remember although it may not seem like it now, it could very well be the making of them

Patterkiller · 18/08/2016 08:43

What do I do?

Dds told me she's got her insurance, she seemed a bit flat but it was still a good offer.

She left her ucas logged in and it's with significant changes. The course offered is a one year foundation in the same subject.

She hasn't mentioned any of this. I'm waiting for her to come out the shower. I don't know if she just hasn't read it properly.

She's off to school for results soon.

hairymairyfromthedairy · 18/08/2016 08:44

Thanks popple can't get results until 9
According to UCAS it should still say that against his uni choice with instructions what to do next?

dreamingofsun · 18/08/2016 08:45

relief....ABB which is what he needed. so sorry to see a few people in tears though at the school.

LauraAshleyDuvetCover · 18/08/2016 08:46

DB's got his insurance, but I think he'll try ringing his firm when he knows his marks because the offers were very close, so he hasn't missed by much (and he vomited partway through one exam and didn't finish it...). I really hope they'll take him - it's Durham so very different from his big city insurance.

He's done a mixture or A-levels and pre-U though, so his grades are a bit more complicated!

Arrowminta · 18/08/2016 08:51

I remember track not updating when we were waiting. Went to school to collect results and offer met but there was a GCSE confirmation missing from the file so just a technicality. The was a roller coaster.... so if track hasn't updated don't despair until you find out the grades.

Diglet · 18/08/2016 08:52

Patterkiller. Is it a foundation year that specific to her desired course or a more general one. Some foundation courses are excellent with great outcomes for students who well at them. Depends on the Uni and the course. Some have very high drop out rates. I think some are also really hard work with full timetables unlike 1st year degree timetables.

I'd try and big it up and say if she works hard in the foundation course she will be very well placed to do well in her Uni degree.

NickyEds · 18/08/2016 08:52

Patter school will be able to hep when you get the actual results.

NickyEds · 18/08/2016 08:57

Definitely worth a call Laura if he has only just missed it.

Patterkiller · 18/08/2016 08:58

Thanks. She hasn't come down yet. I'll have a chat.

IthinkIamsinking · 18/08/2016 09:00

AAA and A in EPQ
I could cry with relief
UCAS Track had updated before 8am

Diglet · 18/08/2016 09:01

Pater. Can you look up stats (Unistats?) on the course while she it still showering?

But don't be put off if it does have a high drop out rate though.

thepurplehen · 18/08/2016 09:01

Ds got his firm offer. So relieved! He's just in school now getting his results.
