theheadgirl · 14/08/2014 08:44

Well done to everyone who got the grades they wanted. Hope those still waiting on decisions and clearing get sorted quickly. xx

seagull70 · 14/08/2014 08:45

Twin DD's both got their first choices, very very relieved.

Borrowed Son got his second choice so he's thrilled although he now wants to change course and Uni!!!

Good luck everyone - will check back later for further updates from you all xxxx

happystory · 14/08/2014 08:45

Shootingatpigeons · 14/08/2014 08:46

theheadgirl · 14/08/2014 08:47

BOFster
If ever a day warranted exclamation marks this was it!!! Fantastic results, congratulation x

Isthiscorrect · 14/08/2014 08:53

Well done to all those DC who have made their firm and fingers crossed for the rest.

Woo hoo DS in at his first choice. Thrilled for him after being so ill at the beginning of this academic year.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 14/08/2014 09:01

3 A s. Genius. So proud.

secretsquirrels · 14/08/2014 09:09

AAA*A. DS missed his the STEP for first choice Cambridge as expected but has been confirmed by his insurance Warwick.

He is thrilled and I am relieved/proud/delighted.

He got the STEP results at midnight and his college website opened at 6am no sleep in between for the A level results. UCAS showed him confirmed by Warwick.

Well done to BeckandCall , Needmoresleep and all those who have got what they wanted.
Fingers crossed by the whole of Mumsnet for Littlam DD

Needmoresleep · 14/08/2014 09:10

Secret, that is brilliant news. You must be so pleased. Sounds like STEP results were not as bad as feared, in which case he has done really well.

Littleham · 14/08/2014 09:11

She has picked up her grades - only just missed it (blasted Chemistry), so we are calling to plead!

Good luck Littleham xxx

fridayfreedom · 14/08/2014 09:15

Yahoo, exceeded her grades and first Uni confirmed so all very happy but she really is poorly and feeling a bit sorry for herself.
Does she need to do anything on the ucas site . No email from the Uni yet.

BackforGood · 14/08/2014 09:27

ds's school don't open until 9.30, so don't know his results yet, but he's had his place confirmed at first choice, so that's all I need to know Grin

Good luck to everyone still waiting Smile

Littleham · 14/08/2014 09:41

She has phoned. The update will be on there by 3pm, but they did say she had a good chance.

Another agonising wait. Aaaaaaaargh

Littleham
Four years ago we were there - DS needed AAA for Durham and got AAB - with the A in his chosen subject. They faffed around for 5 days before saying they wouldn't accept him. But he did well at his insurance choice, and has just had the most fantastic year doing a Masters at Imperial, so although things didn't turn out as he would have wished on results day, it all worked out for the best.

Congratulations to all - because they all deserve it!

littlemissmaths · 14/08/2014 10:05

secretsquirrels what amazing "A" levels. Maths at Cambridge must be one of the toughest courses in the country to get into :-( So pleased about the Warwick place.

Good luck to Littleham.

My DD got her grades for Cambridge. I am strangely completely deflated and overwhelmed (whilst delighted). AIBU to feel that I am no longer needed as a mother, and to feel strangely useless :-( Somehow I feel that my girls have now set sail and will be living their own lives, just as I want them to do, so now have to address my own life and it is fairly wanting atm.

BlueStringPudding · 14/08/2014 10:07

DD has been redialling Bristol non-stop, but just can't get through - so frustrating..

lalsy · 14/08/2014 10:15

Yes, crossing everything for Littleham's dd. Secretsquirrels, I remember your thread - very pleased for you.

traceyinrosso70 · 14/08/2014 10:17

AAA and into her firm plus £1500 merit scholarship ! Over the moon for her especially German which she was really worried about and ended up being her highest mark !!! shootingatpigeons will wave to you as we head south and you head north. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread which started back in late september and has been a great source of info and support at times of high stress levels. Huge congrats to all those who are celebrating and my heartfelt best wishes to those starting through the clearing process.
