Thought we might need a new thread for the results...

Thanks needmore. It will be helpful for ds for next year.
As for sending them off, I think a family dinner of ds choice will be good. I've bought him a couple of books I know he will enjoy that aren't course related. In the depths of his junk stuff for uni I have buried a 6 pack of monster munch, a 2.5 kg box of rhubarb and custards, box of celebrations, and a bottle of red leg rum (which was highly recommended by the chap in the bar where I was relaxing). And of course a special card telling him how we will always be proud of him. *sobs loudly.

Squirrel - Can't believe the difference in marks for your son! Makes you wonder whether they should all be checked.

Looking at all your comments has panicked me, as I hadn't quite got my head around the fact that they start so soon.

Littleham - I almost talked him out of asking for a re-mark as he had the grades he needed. I'm glad I didn't because he was so delighted I hadn't realised that it was quite that important to him.

He's off on a lads holiday tomorrow no sleep for me then and then only 3 weeks left when he gets back.
Yes it's the final countdown. Are we carrying on on this thread or do we need a Going away /Empty nest thread?

goinggetstough · 30/08/2014 10:14

Secret the current Empty Nest thread part 3 is actually a thread that was started in 2006 by Rusty Bear. So it is for everyone and not just those of us who had a DC start at university last year.

Sorry, still around. Just wanted to add a caveat about re-marking that upset my sense of fairness. If you're going for a remark, make sure the univ confirms they know this is your intention. I know, this is now of use to next year's group but it just came up. One of DD's contacts missed her offer by 2 ums, got the required grade via re-mark but was told the course was full.

She's been offered a place for 2015 instead. She's ok with it. Not sure I would be if that was my DD or student.

We're off on 28 th, DD now dividing time between seeing family, catching up on dvd boxset tv, ploughing through the reading list.....
