Thought we might need a new thread for the results...

I know, I know - why did we ever think Chemistry was a good idea? Has turned out to be the worst subject to take.

Just watched the UCAS head being interviewed on BBC breakfast. Don't wish to count chickens too early but she said that what they were seeing was that students who may have missed by "a grade or two" to quote her are still getting accepted by their firms. I know a very generalised comment, but perhaps a reason for cautious optimism?

Really feel for you all. Have had 3 DS go through A levels. Track is v late this year. It was up by 6 for the last 2 DS. Good luck everyone.

RosieRain · 14/08/2014 07:20

Thanks letsface. And exactly littleham. Chemistry A level why ??

CakeUpWall · 14/08/2014 07:21

Fantastic news theheadgirl! Well done indeed to your DD. Thanks

Feeling quite sick now here - not sure if it's nerves or lack of sleep. Crossing everything and trying to remain calm.

Littleham · 14/08/2014 07:22

DD now up. No e mail. Clicking Ucas track refresh. This is torture.

Meanwhile, the lovely Irish system has given us no stress whatsoever.

DD STILL ASLEEP!

As soon as one of one tells me track is up, I'm jumping on her........

(Congrats head girl! First good news of the day!)

RosieRain · 14/08/2014 07:26

My DS doesn't want to go to school until he knows if he is in. Insurance offer same as firm! However if track doesn't update I will encourage him to go and get his results as then at least he will know one way or the other !

fridayfreedom · 14/08/2014 07:28

Still waiting for college website at 7.30.
Dd has been throwing up every hour since 4am. Looks poorly do either a bug or a dodgy pizza at friends house. Not alcohol related as only shared a bottle of cider.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 14/08/2014 07:28

Pity DS s school CBA to open till half 8.

RosieRain · 14/08/2014 07:29

Hope your DD feeling better soon Friday and gets some good new very soon.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 14/08/2014 07:30

seagull70 · 14/08/2014 07:30

ValenciaOrange · 14/08/2014 07:33

Track is now open.

TeaAndALemonTart · 14/08/2014 07:34

Go and wake them up! Good luck to all. DS gets his GCSE results next week but I'm hoping it's good news for all your DCs first.

Littleham · 14/08/2014 07:34

Rejected by Durham (not unexpected).

Bristol showing this - Conditional offer (firmly accepted)

What does this mean?

OP posts:
RosieRain · 14/08/2014 07:36

That's fab letsface and seagull my DS is IN !! So happy. Off to corner shop to buy something fizzy to open. Congratulations/good luck to all

Needmoresleep · 14/08/2014 07:37

Littleham, I really hope that means in...

Away from home and meant to be preparing for several meetings this morning. DH is trying to wake DS. I wish they would hurry.

RosieRain · 14/08/2014 07:39

Sorry about Durham littleham. Sounds positive for Bristol though. Good luck

TeaAndALemonTart · 14/08/2014 07:40

Littleham I'm sure that means Bristol have accepted him, congratulations!

onadifferentplanet · 14/08/2014 07:40

Ds is still showing Conditional for his firm and Unconditional for his Insurance so has headed into school for his actual grades, presumably he now has to ring his first choice and plead his case?

Littleham · 14/08/2014 07:43

Shouldn't it say unconditional though? I think it might mean that it has become her new firm & they are considering her....

traceyinrosso70 · 14/08/2014 07:46

Woo hoo ! DD in at her firm (Southampton) on the Masters ! She needed AAA so off to school now to see whether she got that or they let her in with slightly lower grades but doesn't matter now - she's in where she wants to be !
