If you didn't buy an Antilop high chair, why the hell not?!

Obviously this only applies to those who need a high chair!

Other than a Tripp Trapp, I can't see how any other high chair can beat the Antilop in any way. It's dirt cheap, easy to clean, easily stored, and comfy. You can get that little blow up thing to give them support when they are still little, and they last for ages.

Whenever we've been to cafes / restaurants / other homes that have a different style of highchair, my DS's have never looked comfortable.

So, tell me, if you discounted the Antilop, why????????????????

Because we were given a nice East Coadt one. Would've bought the ikea one if not Grin

FryOneFatManic · 31/08/2012 21:48

They weren't around when I needed one.............

Rubirosa · 31/08/2012 21:49

I wanted something that would last a bit longer and look a bit nicer. Got a Red Kite wooden one that is similar in style to a trip trap.

Groovee · 31/08/2012 21:49

Because the prima papa suited our needs for ds

MushroomBurger · 31/08/2012 21:50

Because I have a Tripp Trapp.

WelshMaenad · 31/08/2012 21:50

With you, OP! ours us nearly 2 years old and still looks new. Love love love it!!!

booksandchoc · 31/08/2012 21:50

Because I needed something that folded up to fit behind a door. If my kitchen wasn't a tiny box I would have had an antilop.

NurseBernard · 31/08/2012 21:51

No idea...

Those HUGE, puffy-seated, primary-coloured, tacky, expensive all-singing, all-dancing (did I mention HUGE?) extravaganzas are horrible.

MrsRhettButler · 31/08/2012 21:51

I got a wooden fold up one from boots because it goes with my table and it looks a helluva lot nicer IMO

MrsRhettButler · 31/08/2012 21:52

The antilope is ugly

ExitStencilist · 31/08/2012 21:52

last a bit longer than an antilop? That thing would survive a nuclear winter.

Because they aren't doing it in white at the moment and the blue one would look terrible in my kitchen!

Really wanted one but can't get one so using a hand me down till ds is a bit less messy than splashing out on a tripptrap.

I am still bitter about this Grin

HaveToWearHeels · 31/08/2012 21:55

I bought a Bloom Fresco, expensive mistake, went and bought an Antilop a month later.
So may places have them, especially abroad, very suprised (and pleased) to find them in our local restuarant in Turkey.

StormGlass · 31/08/2012 21:55

I'd never heard of an antilop high chair before looking at this thread.

That's why we didn't consider buying one.

Iggly · 31/08/2012 21:55

I bought a wooden one which was a bastard nightmare to clean so got rid for dc2 and bought the ikea one. It's ok but I trip over the blardy legs and can't get the fecking tray off easily. Great value though.

loveroflife · 31/08/2012 21:55

because i couldn't be arsed to drive all the way to ikea for a highchair. besides, i quite like dunking the plastic tray that comes off ours in the washing up bowl and leaving it to dry on draining board, takes all of 5 seconds......

SunAtLast · 31/08/2012 21:55

Got Tripp trapp for dc1. Fab but pricy.
Got antilop for dc2. Fab too, easier to clean, but regularly trip up over the sticky outy legs.

Rubirosa · 31/08/2012 21:55

Last a bit longer as in, ds wouldn't have outgrown it by 18 months. Antilop is quite small whereas a trip trap style chair can be used as a dining chair til they're big enough to sit on an adult chair.

Iggly · 31/08/2012 21:56

Natasha we have a generic highchair cushion insert for ours from kiddicare.

wigglesrock · 31/08/2012 21:56

We have the red one, its been brilliant - now being used by my niece Grin They are so neat and fit right in at the table.

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 31/08/2012 21:56

I have one. The harness won't control my ds though he likes to stand up in it and screech and spit food.

Lambzig · 31/08/2012 21:57

Because my sister insisted on buying it as a present. She wanted to buy a Bloom Loft which was way too big, so we eventually compromised on the High-Pod (most irritating product name ever surely?). Not sure I will be using it for DC2. Wish she had bought a Tripp Trapp, but there was a lot of scare mongering about them at the time.

JollyHockeyStick · 31/08/2012 21:57

Because we got a Tripp Trapp. Which DS will be using forever. (unconceived) DC2 will also get a Tripp Trapp.

Hopefully · 31/08/2012 21:58

Because we bought Tripp trapps, which I love. So pleasing Grin

Cannot imagine a sub £100 chair that is better than the antilop, am always stunned by friends' massive high chairs with integral trays/cushions/28-point harnesses/rocket boosters etc.
