Hello

Thank crunchie it is Friday!

Mouse, I hope you get some answers quickly.

Bitter, does DH normally swear at the DC's - I hope you get it sorted.

Vinny, did I read you were going back to bed? Do you feel any better after a snooze?

I cannot remember for the life of me anything else anyone said. Sorry.

I have just txted DH to see if we should have a takeaway for two tonight. I went outside to the garage and I could smell curry and it smelt delish.

DeFluffy · 02/07/2010 17:28

ooooo takeaway

TrillianAstra · 02/07/2010 17:29

Belllla, I bet you are glad I only sing your name on here, I am a really bag singer.
I'm off to the pub. Boss has left already. It is sunny.

My singing is no good either Trills.

That's it, blame me I don't care Double

There was a lovely assembly at school today in memory of a Yr9 boy who died this time last year - he was diagnosed with cancer and within 10 weeks he was dead . Two brothers - one plays the drums and the other an electric guitar together with a girl singer did some fantastic songs - Florence and the Machine - Feel the Love and Hallelujha and some others. All week the kids have been raising money in aid of his memory to be given to a cancer charity. His parents and family had been invited, but they didn't come perhaps they would have been too upset. But listening to the songs, it brought a lump to my throat. His sister was in the assembly though - she is a pupil at the school.

Yay for child free zone.

MrBella came in from work and said he'd had a big lunch and was too full to have a take away. He said he would go and get me one though, but tbh it isn't the same having it for one. I had scrambled eggs on toast instead. He is now making me a cup of tea and will do us some G&T's a bit later.

VinnyTheTit · 02/07/2010 19:39

evening just got back from visiting my friend and her son (he has cancer) in hossie, he is on the teenage ward at it is lovely and cheerful

Bella that is so sad i dont know how my friend copes so well, she is so strong, i would be a complete mess if it were one of mine

bellavita · 02/07/2010 19:43

I would be a complete mess too Vinny.

Is your friends son undergoing treatment now? How long will he be in for?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 02/07/2010 19:48

Bella, that's so sad, sounds like a lovely assembly though.

Thankyou for the kind posts ladies, H has gone to work now. Unfortunately this is getting to be too common an occurence recently - we have had many rows about how he talks to the DC.

The name calling is a fairly new one though and yes it was in front of the DC this time, which is what riled me.

I agree though DF, I need to cut him some slack, MIL only passed away a couple of months ago, and she was only 56, it was very sudden.

Sorry, I'll suck it up and stop whinging now, as Bella's post has made me realise there are people with real problems.

jetcat · 02/07/2010 19:51

oh Bella - thats so sad, i would have been blubbing away

bitter - it is a 'real' problem and you should not 'suck it up' you nutter (affectionate term there). Calling you names or swearing at dc is never ok imo.

My mum is always 'oh you've broken your leg, never mind some people have broken both legs' Argh! It doesn't matter what other people have to contend with your problem is still a very real problem.

I cut dp some slack at the start of our relationship (1st year really) but if he tried that shit now he'd die. He had a brief foray back into the alcohol not so long back (I think I posted about it in relationships, I was heartbroken) but he'd just found out that his sister was also saying her uncle abused her too (don't ask, wasn't the uncle on the grandfather's side either so couldn't even say it was part of the warped culture of 'that side' iyswim). He was told he got proper help or he fucked off. I also took the car off him (its mine) and he still doesnt have his own money (gives it all to me each month so that I know he's not buying alcohol on the side). He's gradually earning the trust back. I am quite harsh but I think if you act like a child you might get treated like one. We're slowly coming out the other side but counselling has helped him immensely.

Im waffling but what Im trying to say is that having a lot on your plate means you should have some slack cut for you BUT not for some things and swearing at dc/calling you names is where one of my lines would be.

Think I'd be having a chat with him over him getting counselling (Cruise perhaps) and him understanding that the next time he swore at/in front of the dcs, he would have his bags packed.

Sorry, am on your behalf. You deserve better and your dc deserve better. Your DP needs to pull himself the fuck together.

Rant over

FiveGoMadInDorset · 02/07/2010 20:16

Fanny & Crispy

Bitter, you should not have to suck it up! It is not nice what DH does - regardless of whether MIL died or not.

Enjoy your G&T Double - I am sipping one that MrB made me.

Evening all, went to the gym
Now slobbing with DH watching the football.

Though I do think I'd prefer at Fanny's sipping Pimms with her and Crispy
Have masses of fun, you pair

Roight, off to snuggle up to DH.

Bitter, listen to Fluffy love, you have needs too and swearing/namecalling in front of your DC is so wrong. How would he feel if one of the kids repeated things he'd said?
Hugs for you.

Double, have a fab weekend, you wild and wonderful Goddess.

Massive hugs and squidges to Mittz and Yank as well. Love you loads, hope today was better for you both.

DeFluffy · 02/07/2010 20:25

bitter - ignore me if you want to, im in a lecturey mood tonight sorry Just hate the thought of someone being mean to you or your dcs.

Fanny and Crispy - I officially hate both of you

waves at saf, double, jet, vinny, bella et al

really going in bath now.

Mittz · 02/07/2010 20:32

Oh, Bella, how heart breaking..

Gosh that hug was good Doc Trills... , thanks for that xx

I know you weren't being flip ID xx Lots of things a bit raw at the moment so when I open my mind everything dribbles out lol!

DEM has just been with her adorable DS and has made me laugh, and listened, and we giggled on the seesaw, bless her xx

I am tired but need to blitz the house because I am going to Mum and Dad's tomorrow. Anniversary angst avoidance.

I think I have lost weight but haven't weighed myself. The detox week has made a brill difference. I can't explain how exactly but I don't feel puffy and bloated.

traceybath · 02/07/2010 20:32

Hello Ladies!

Sorry I've been absent - have caught up a bit.

Yank - You are massively under-estimating how wonderful you are. What shines through in your posts is what an incredibly fun and caring person you are.

Lizzy - yeay on getting into your 7FAM's! You are doing so well.

I'm feeling as fat as a hog but weight very odd as trying to stop bf although still doing at least 3 feeds a day.

Life's busy at the moment and you know I'm still plugging away on the S&B threads, you know along the lines of yes you can wear skinnies/maxis/leggings whatever your age or size. Do think there are some on mn who think once we pass the age of 25 we should only ever shop in m&s.

Shiney - bought a lovely chanel lipgloss the other day - bikini something or other.

But anyway - hello again and I need to stay on this thread and keep motivate re. my weight.

VinnyTheTit · 02/07/2010 20:35

Bella friends son is on his third lot of chemo he has to stay in for 5 days then goes home for two weeks then back in for more chemo, that's the way it will be for six months providing he doesn't get any infections, his hair has nearly all fallen out now but he is coping really well, he was impressed with my iPhone

jetcat · 02/07/2010 20:38

Vinny - no idea what to say really, but thinking of you all, bless him for being so strong

bellavita · 02/07/2010 20:39

Aww that sounds positive Vinny. Oooh mine love my I-Phone. DS2 is like... shall I check what the weather is going to be like tomorrow mum or shall I tell you what time it is in LA?

Traceybath, so good to see you.

Mittz, what is this detoxing you are talking about? What have you cut out? Yay for DEM & Mittz meet up.
