Welcome to the shiney thread.

Cock and cake, ladies, that's what it's about.

I'm Yank, I've lost 1st 4lbs since starting here. Re-introduce yourselves at your leisure!

now where is our fearless leader?

OP posts:
jetcat · 30/05/2010 19:55

Iggi, i thought that about the dresses Esp when yank and i both went for the same one!

but, when we tried it on, it didnt suit either of us!

at the smut alarm

what to we think with these shoes ? I saw them in a magazine while on the train, and thought they may go with my new dress?

But, do they look a bit like what 50 year olds would wear?

TrillianAstra · 30/05/2010 19:55

Glad you had a nice day Jet, and well done on getting there even though original plans didn't work out - can you link the dress again here? Naughty girl saying 'hun' - slap on wrist

I spent a good bit of yesterday in Debenhams, letting the Benefit lady paint my face while she and my mum chatted (mum can chat in an empty room). Came away with some goodies that do barely-perceptible things to my face.

jetcat · 30/05/2010 19:55

oh well, cancel that about the shoes, they are out of stock

Lizzylou · 30/05/2010 19:57

Iggi, have you spoken to your DH?
Do you think now would be the time to slip him some ginseng? Prepare some oysters mebbe?

Iggisfulloftayto · 30/05/2010 19:58

I don't know shoes at all. Spent all my formative shoe years in DMs. Lots of wedges around though, fashionable I think? A 50 year old would not wear them with nice new dress and painted toenails etc.
Come to think of it many v.stylish 50 year olds about! Ask Trills, she is our baby is she not? (apologies to any younger shiney-threaders I have forgotten.)

jetcat · 30/05/2010 19:58

sorry hun trills

dress is here

Iggisfulloftayto · 30/05/2010 19:59

Lizzy, speak to him? But why? I only need him for his sperm.

TrillianAstra · 30/05/2010 20:00

I think the shoes look comfy Jet, not wow-sexy-shoes but also not 50-yr-old.

If we're talking dresses what do you all think to this one?

TrillianAstra · 30/05/2010 20:03

Alice is younger than me! I am a whole 26 years old now!

Really like that green dress - maybe I'll wear it.

No - if any of you guys wear it I'll just look flat-chested.

Iggisfulloftayto · 30/05/2010 20:04

I could totally see you in it, would look great. For me, not so much
Do you have other maxi dresses?

Lizzylou · 30/05/2010 20:05

So pleased you got that Jet, the colours must realy look great with your colouring?

I like those shoes, but am not known for my style

Iggi, you are making me larf this eve

DreamsInBinary · 30/05/2010 20:05

That dress is fab, Jet, and a v good choice with your colouring.

Having seen pics of you in the Coast maxi, Trill, I think you should never wear anything else. Maxis for Sainsburys, maxis for work, maxis for cleaning...you get the picture.

Lizzylou · 30/05/2010 20:05

Yep Trills, could see you in that Maxi.

Beeatch

Iggisfulloftayto · 30/05/2010 20:07

Lovely dress. I want it.

Mittz · 30/05/2010 20:08

some nice wedges here Jet

I love both dresses

Iggisfulloftayto · 30/05/2010 20:09

Oh God Trills. When talking online I forget how old these days. People will think you are out with your granny mum.

Mittz · 30/05/2010 20:10

That is my favourite green and I would love shoes in that colour, but just wonder if something in black/white or tan would be more versatile for other outfits....?

jetcat · 30/05/2010 20:26

Trills, i think i saw that dress today, tis very lovely

Mittz, due to my extremely wide feet i am limited to what i can wear shoe wise. My fave ones in new look were too narrow, so am currently browsing evans and marisota!

yank made me laugh today, as i kept going for size 22/24 tops etc, and by the end of the day, she had me in a size 16 And, she even saw my legs

DreamsInBinary · 30/05/2010 20:32

Are the wide feet ones in Next/New Look etc still no good, Jet? Tricky!

jetcat · 30/05/2010 20:37

i think you're right mittz re the shoes, i just got carried away

mini aibur....

ex just dropped girls off. Says they are invited to a party next saturday, so i say yes they can go. They would be normally up for just sunday daytime next week. This was originally saturday daytime, but had to change when he started work.

keeping up??

so, i then say what time sunday are you having them, as it is race for life. he says no, as he is having them saturday. I say no, as i have plans for sunday as that is the only day i know for definite i have off. He then goes off on one, saying that it used to be saturday, i say yes, but we changed to accomodate him working overtime. I then say that if in the future this happens, so long as he gives me notice (ie. more than one week) i dont mind swapping the days. But, am desparately trying to fit some revision in, tis half term next week so wont get much done then. So, am i being mean saying that if he wants to take them to a party, that is great, but it is an extra - not instead of?

jetcat · 30/05/2010 20:41

they're not dib But, i did try these on in black, with skinny jeans and they look fab, even if i do say so myself

not sure they would go with the dress though! But, the dress was a lot cheaper than what i was expecting to pay, so i may be able to stretch to two pairs of shoes

this is the monsoon top i like, to go with the skinny jeans, as although it is not a colour i would normally wear, i tried a top that colour today, and it didnt look too bad!

Iggisfulloftayto · 30/05/2010 20:44

Re your ex Jet, you are obviously not unreasonable, saying you are willing to swop if given enough notice (and if it suits your schedule) is very reasonable of you. He just wants it all his way (don't we all, I suppose!). But he can't have it.

jetcat · 30/05/2010 20:47

i know iggi, its just hard, as straight away junior went into the kitchen out of the way, and is now upset Ex left pretty much straight after, but now she will worry all week about seeing him next weekend

Iggisfulloftayto · 30/05/2010 20:49

...while he skips off into the sunset whistling after upsetting everyone. Makes me so

Alicetheinvisible · 30/05/2010 20:59

Evening

Yay for Jet and Yank
(is it a bit sad that i am feeling a bit smug that Jet bought the dress i picked for her? Lizzy chose it too, we xposted )

Iggi - i am afraid i am the thread baby (by about 4 months) I know i come across as very worldly and mature

Chicken biryani from takeaway for dinner. I have eaten way too much and feel a bit sick, but it was soooo good. Had a small bottle of beer too

Did i hear that Shiney has been baking?
