SAF thought CF meant children's father. Double was horrified

Hi Iggi and Bitter

DD had her bath, and is still asleep. I tried to have a bath but not enough hot water so i lay around for a bit deciding if i could cope with washing my hair in basically tepid water, decided i couldn't and went to bed with a book instead Now have mad hair.

The cat is being a bit mad

Alicetheinvisible · 30/05/2010 15:54

Hello Mittz and Shiney

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 30/05/2010 15:56

Hi all.

Alice cats are a bit mad by nature, I think? at least ours is pretty much bonkers.

Alicetheinvisible · 30/05/2010 15:56

How old is he Bitter? Sounds like my friends 5yr old

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 30/05/2010 15:57

5 in a couple of weeks.

And to think I was worried when he wasn't talking at 2. I don't think I'll bother teaching DD to talk, will be much more peaceful all round.

TrillianAstra · 30/05/2010 16:02

Sounds v tiring Bitter.

Hi Shiney.

DP is defrosting the fridge, I am sitting on the sofa. Should I feel guilty?

No Trills. It is not a two man job and you are poorly and it is your birthday weekend. Feel better?

Bitter - our cat is a bit simple really. I always thought cats were intelligent and dogs were the slightly stupid ones, but our cat is like a very stupid dog

DD has started grinding her teeth and it is horrid. No idea what i can do to make her stop though.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 30/05/2010 16:10

Trills - it's practically your birthday, no guilt required.

Double - I know what you mean, he seemed to go from mute to sentences practically overnight. His first word, in fact was 'helicopter'

Too bright for his own good, don't know where he got that from.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 30/05/2010 16:12

No, in my experience Alice, cats are verr dumb.

Lizzylou · 30/05/2010 16:17

Afternoon all, am exhausted and about to eat pizza.

Went to spin class this morning

Then took boys on the stream train whilst DH and FIL finished off the hall floor (Ha! Nowhere near, I wouldn't mind but it is not a big bloody hallway).
There was a WW2 reemactment weekend on. DS2 is scared of the guns going off and DS1 is scared of dogs.
It was a tricky day. Full of Brummies (I can say that as i am one) dressed up as French Resistance fighters etc. We shared a carriage with one who kept getting photoed by all these nerdy blokes who were showing him "last years photo". It all made me a tad uncomfortable and wished I'd just stuck the Wii on.

Got wine for tonight.

Mittz, that is fab go you

Trills, yep Benjamin BUtton reminded me a bit of Forrest Gump but I made myself watch it so I could see Brad looking hot.He did.

at everyone in Kerry knowing each other, they do in Cavan, and they get the brandy out at 10am. It was great.

Hey Shiney.

Sorry, this is all very long.

TrillianAstra · 30/05/2010 16:22

Shiney are you gonna talk to us or was that it?

Alicetheinvisible · 30/05/2010 16:25

Lizzy - i am the same, desperately try and do something nice for DD and end up wishing i stuck her in the garden with a bucket of water

DH home shortly and hopefully see if he can sort the oven out (or more hopefully hope he can't and we can have a takeaway )

Mittz · 30/05/2010 16:58

Do you talk like a Brummie Lizzy?

DD is like that Bitter..she had speech therapy and they didn't tell her that she doesn't have to talk.

Lizzy, Sounds like a lovely (and busy!) day.

I didn't know you were a brummie - I lived there for 3 years and Loved it!

Mittz, I feel your pain. It's like my Mum always said, you spend the first couple of years waiting for first words and first steps, then the next 15 telling them to sit down and shut up!

Alice, enjoy your takeaway. [fingers crossed]

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 30/05/2010 17:18

15 quid for a chocolate cake?

Did you go all Heston and coat it in gold leaf and caviar?

TrillianAstra · 30/05/2010 17:28

If you buy the real posh chocolate it does cost a lot. I get tesco value dark chocolate, not the 70% cocoa stuff that Nigela demands.
