Evening all

I get rather misty-eyed about fennel tea. Someone told me just after DS was born that it increased your milk supply. Despite having so much of the stuff that I expressed pints and still looked like Dolly Parton, I thought it a good idea to drink it. To be on the safe side

DreamsInBinary · 12/05/2010 19:51

Spag bol def improves with cooking, Fluff. I leave mine on a gentle heat for 1-2 hours, and it's even better if heated up the next day.

Meh, to be honest, I just don't bother to ask any more saf.

hellsbelles · 12/05/2010 19:54

phew - I'm glad it's not just my DM (but Bitter...flippen heck young lady - that is not fair - agree with Fluff...pin her down).

Ok...I'm off to join Bitter in my nightly dose of 24. See you later.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 12/05/2010 19:55

It is a bit galling though, because she works in a school so has loads of holiday.

glad car ok shiney. perhaps you are tired and a little heavy on the accelerator pedal.

Must do bedtime. we are already arguing. we have different plans it would seem. so tomorrow we need to have one plan for the day mine. I will be up first. It will be my way, damm it, it will be

jetcat · 12/05/2010 20:00

right, essay done and emailed off - so what i have i missed

I took mini through to her aunt's today - total of 4 train trips and 3 bus trips for me Her house is a approx a 20 min uphill walk from the train station, so did that 4 times as well, in a rather fast manner (which actually included some running) as there is only 1 train per hour - eg. get off train at 8.15, drop mini off, then get back to station for train at 9. Am shattered now though, shins are killing me so havent gone on the treadmill today.

Re the spag bol debate (only briefly read previous posts) i made one a couple of days ago, which i left to simmer for 3 hours i think while i was pottering about. Twas delicious, and the only one that both girls have ate without complaing. I have a slow cooker as well, but it is tiny- not big enough to cook for us all - so will get round to getting a bigger one one day

I'm doing it in the slow cooker, because I need to justify having the thing.

I am using 'attendants' to describe what they became beacuse of the bridezillaness, I don't think that was their official title

DidEinsteinsMum · 12/05/2010 20:03

well done Jet! on essay and exercise.

thanks DEM Hope you are having a nice day

bellavita · 12/05/2010 20:09

DEM - DH has mentioned chuff all about the email... he is now doing is usual tapping away at the lappy

Fluffy, I need to correct the time of the cooking of spag bol I'm afraid .... on the hob it should take at least three hours of slow cooking without a lid and the occasional stir. It needs to cook down and go really rich in colour and thick in texture ie. rich sauce.

Goobs - the chilli umm sort of went to a veg curry I had convinced myself I had chilli powder in the cupboard but alas, I must have used it all so I chucked in some curry powder instead. Tis very nice though.

Shiney, it is always the way when you really need something to go wrong for someone.

Hells, is this tomorrow you are going out? Have a lovely time. Bit of a bummer about your nanny.

bellavita · 12/05/2010 20:11

Oooh well done jet.

Shiney, you cannot be serious about changing jobs ? If you can work in the police force solving murders you can be a school secretary

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/05/2010 20:13

Evening

Lovely afternoon drinking copious amounts of tea, interspersed with separating fighting infants. Feeling much better now, so thanks for your kind words . Tracey - it is odd how losing a job which i didn't LOVE can make me feel this way. All a bit

Yank, glad DS made it to nursery and i hope things can just settle on an even keel for a good few years weeks

Wasting, i hope DS2 had a good birthday and you are feeling better?

DIB, i think you should be DIBDolly for a while

Defluff - well done on your productive day, but please step away from the tablets and mixing them

DEM, hope things are calm tonight with DS. You deserve a break

Shiney, i HATE it when cars make you look like a paranoid numpty to the mechanics. I usually end up pleading, going 'but, but, but, there is something wrong, pleeeeeasse find it...'

Re babysitting - my mother is usually too busy looking after DNiece & Nephew. When they do come and visit (100 miles) I normally ask them to mind DC's (once in bed) for an evening so we can go out for a meal. Don't feel bad as they usually stay 3 nights or so, so we still get to eat and socialise with them

Hope your mum is ok Hells and she has a change of heart tomorrow to let you stay out a bit later
