ID - all you have had is a ham salad sandwich

Shiney, have you got any "garage gentlemen" you can call upon to see if the problem can be rectified before it actually gets serious?

Right just had a mad dash round to make it look like ive been working hard all day, keeping myself busy etc. When in reality I have been doing bugger all except watching Glee, Vampire Diaries and New Moon on boxoffice. I totally skipped lunch because I had the bright idea of doing myself some microwave popcorn to eat whilst watching the film.

Hope everyone is well!

bummer about your car, my head starts to spin when i hear 'head gasket' mentioned, makes me think of xfil

you may just need a new water pump or radiator, dont let it over heat what ever you do as you risk blowing the head (sounds rude ) get it to a mechanic pronto

Brown oil, im not sure, but if you see white spots in your oil that is when you need to worry as that means there is water getting into your engine and the head gasket is gone

have you checked under the car to see if there are any leaks? a good way to check is to leave it running for a bit and put some cardboard underneath

I love that Shiney has a BOYFRIEND. She is like a teenager

Goober - thank you for that pic, perked me up a bit

Ferret - i keep thinking i would like to make my own popcorn.

Just enjoying a pint of full fat coke and ice - yes i know it is bad, but i need it. Apparently too much caffeine can stunt your unborn child's growth - i hate to think how huge i would be if i hadn't had any caffeine!

We have been invited out tonight, but i am having trouble finding a babysitter, so may be a night in with DD instead.

bellavita · 12/05/2010 16:15

Aww Alice, hope you find someone to babysit.

I have just made (well they are in the oven) double chocolate chip muffins.

Hope you get your car sorted Shiney

MitsubishiWarrioress · 12/05/2010 16:30

Oh Alice, it would be lovely if you got the chance to go out..

Yes shiney.. you won't be going out to see that young man again until your room is tidy..., and we'll have your phone please..

Cars..mmmmmmmmm.. sounds broke to me!

DidEinsteinsMum · 12/05/2010 16:30

brown oil is ok, because it looks slightly browny when not dirty (black) but not clean (browny clear)

Water wise sometimes it just needs topping up, if you have forgotten or it hasnt been done it needs doing and there is no fault behind it. As for the high reviving thing - when did it last have a service (milage not time), my car needs more regular servicing to keep it running sweet. And when it is due it runs at higher revs.

Had a bit of sleep, feel more crap. Overslept for school run, so had to ring. spoke to ds' teacher. who had spoken to ds about it. Got back senseory information type concerns. It has been agreed that she will do a timetable of events for whole class, and ds will go into school next week, but if he blows up at home he will go to his dad's. so a plan is in place.

Why am i so tired? why do i feel so crap? Its not like i do very much. mweh.

Been to gym, did Cross trainer, abs and some weights for toning. Trying to mix it up a bit.

DEM, is there anything you don't know? You are very wise.

Gigi and SAF impressed at your cleaning, we're slowly getting there.

Happy Birthday mini-Wasting

Mitts, my StepMom works as a careers advisor/guidance counsellor type person in High Schools, she worked in an office before.
She also runs Youth clubs and takes troubled teens away on residentials (she recently took a group of 13/14/15yr old girls to Centerparcs, it was an esteem building weekend, basically showing the girls they were worth more than just letting random boys grab and grope and sleep with them). My brother and his future wife work in Childrens homes, before he got the job my Brother worked in banking! He is so fulfilled and happy in his work, he deals with teens as well.
What I am clumsily trying to say that if you really want to take that path (and I know how much they all love their careers), then you can do it, they all switched careers.

Gigi, your work must be soo rewarding, I know I got such a buzz today placing that guy. I felt so sorry for the man who'd overcome cancer and had been out of work for 4 years because of his illness and then the recession. Meant so much more than normal.

Hey Shiney, know nowt about cars, sorry.

DidEinsteinsMum · 12/05/2010 16:53

it is the benefit of having a dad who would have quite liked a son but only got girls I got to do basic car mechanics, electrical wiring, plumbing, concrete making, gardening, and all sorts of stuff. It was fun, and i thoroughly enjoyed it.

As for anything i dont know - yep how to reconstruct me and my life at the mo. but it will get better with time and sleep i suppose. I have been feeling very drained. I guess it is the toll of emotional drainage - you feel physically tired. It will be ok. must sleep though, would love to go back to sleep but need to cook tea for ds. He has just put it on - chicken nuggets and potatoe waffles. not the healthiest but filling and easy.

Lizzylou · 12/05/2010 16:55

Sorry for my mammoth post, I just had an outpouring there!

DEM, get yourself to bed as soon as you physically can, you need sleep.

DidEinsteinsMum · 12/05/2010 17:03

no lizzy, I need a lovely hunk of a man, to wrap his arms around me and distract me...

ForStately · 12/05/2010 17:15

Tablets worn off now pah.

Bitter - just say NO. I mean it, don't make me come round there and beat you.

Goobs - thanks muchly for the pic

Lizzy - hes in So'ton, could you not just try? Pretty please?
