Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

Yank, that was me on the treadmill this evening!
I wasn't sure if I'd vom, or erm, well, you know....
Very uncomfortable

Right, off to bed, am knackered.

NormaSknockers · 23/03/2010 21:30

BOF I like Bella's plan of ringing the company & seeing if you can get a replacement?

YanknCock · 23/03/2010 21:32

Night Lizzy.

And continuing with my 'accountability' thing.....I have had 30 points today exactly, plus I have earned 3.5 activity points so that makes up for the 3 I was over yesterday, and leaves me .5 to have a nice milky cuppa before bed.

DS had another nursery induction today, this time DH went with me and we left him there for an hour (DH had to drag me out and keep me out). DS was fine of course, barely noticed we were gone. On Friday he is going for 3.5 hours and I will go get my legs waxed since I missed it on Saturday when he was ill.

Really am starting to worry about all this travelling we are doing for the next three weeks. Paper trackers, will try to get on internet to log points and come here for moral support as much as I can....what else can I do? I'm anticipating a lot of eating out and eating of weird, unfamiliar American things.

Fleecy · 23/03/2010 21:42

Hi everyone, I have been having a little break as I have not been very good with food but have got myself together and am going to try harder. So have come back.

Hope you're all well!

BoF am at your poo incident. Hope you can sort it out - you do seem to have taken it in your stride!

I have had trouble not farting in pilates before. I used to do 7am class and I spent the whole hour wishing I'd got up in time to go to the loo beforehand. Nice

bellavita · 23/03/2010 21:43

Aww shucks hells and Lizzy

wastingaway · 23/03/2010 22:18

Talking to you guys helps me change things, like the other week when the isolation was getting me down, I talked on here and then made some plans and did it.
I still need to maintain that momentum, and progress to the next (scary) stage of DS sleep plan, but I got going.

Although I can't really do anything about the financial uncertainty atm, I can make plans for the future and I think I need that structure in my life. I've been looking back and the times when I lost or maintained weight and was creative and happier were when I had a goal. eg. college work, wedding date, being preg rather than the rather open-ended tedium of call centre job and how I'm doing atm.
So I've been thinking of things that would motivate me to lose weight, eg. I want to ride a bicycle again, and go for long country walks, wear lovely clothes and do yoga.
Plus if I work on having things to look forward to, like a holiday, re-focus on the weddings I'm going to this year and think ahead a few years to where I'd like us to be, then I'll have that structure I need.

Talking to you guys helps as you have little tolerance for whinging.

I'm off to bed now. Sweet dreams everyone.

bellavita · 23/03/2010 22:22

Wasting - that's why we are all here - to help each other. That was a lovely post

Kitkatqueen · 23/03/2010 22:29

Hi all, BoF sorry to hear about your poo incident! I just read the description from the other thread to dp and he now looks like this I wish I could think of a solution to the pouffe problem.

Well I was going to come on here and post my calories, so here they are:

Yep thats about it.

too ill to eat.

Really hope i'm over it tomorrow. Trying to be positive in that at least I should lose weight this week!

fleecy I share your pain! I had a major farting incident during a high impact aerobics session several years ago Haven't been back since...

DreamsInBinary · 23/03/2010 22:34

KKQ - hope you get better soon.

Wasting - you are lovely

Fleecy - was wondering where you had gone. The food issue - too much or too little?

VT - how are the points going?

Yank - I dream of American breakfasts (in, err, binary ) and so would advise you to perhaps eat only two meals a day and stay active? No point in depriving yourself.

DreamsInBinary · 23/03/2010 22:37

Wasting - your post made me earlier - I think that the poster who advised curry leaves for exzema was the same one that had a spat with Shiney and called Syc (the wonderful Syc) vile. Ron someone?

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 23/03/2010 22:48

I have been for another drive in my car, left ds1 to watch ds1 and went out in it in my pj's

i am doing really well with my points DIB, luckily i have been too excited to eat

off to bed now, sooner i sleep the sooner i get to drive my car again [big kid emotion]

YanknCock · 23/03/2010 22:50

ah yep, I remember, she was called r o n e e f

bellavita · 23/03/2010 22:56

Ooh she was a right one wasn't she... I am sure she said she was the wife of a dr

Vinny - does it drive like a dream? I am excited for you. Although, I never went as far as going for a drive in my pj's though when I got mine

yes it drives like a dream, ds1 is outside showing it to his gf, i just heard him turn the engine on, he must be showing her the mood lights (im in bed)

RougeBinDippers · 23/03/2010 23:24

Hello, checking in a bit late. Read about BOFs "shit day" on another thread. Wish I could put up with that and still write about it with humour.

Morning all

Wasting, having something to aim for is a massive boost, it was only once we booked the holiday that I started to get serious, then i have given myself a mini-goal of getting more chub off before my birthday. It just helps you to re-focus and be determined.
I agree with Bella, that was a lovely post, I feel the same way

Yank, I think DIB's idea is a good one, try to only have 2 meals and do as much exercise as possible? But really, just enjoy yourself, you deserve a break and it will be nice to get back to your "homeland"

Ah yes, I remember the curry leaves

Vinny, I can imagine that the mood lighting could be v romantic?

No aches today, so that's good. Lots to sort out re: work, then doing a couple of hours at Estate agents, then pick DS up, then his parents evening then may have some wine
Hope everyone has good days.

Lizzylou · 24/03/2010 07:35

He bloody has done something wrong, Shiney, that is exceptionally rude and...intrusive.
I mean, you didn't ask for a photo of his cock "in all it's naked glory" to make sure that it was big enough for you?
I think he seems shallow and rude, sorry.

Shiney you are beautiful, intelligent and jaw achingly funny, if he wants to judge you on his own narrow and harsh standards (which about 85% of the female population would fall short of, lets face it) I think you are well rid.

The bloody cheek!

Lizzylou · 24/03/2010 07:36

You didn't ask for a photo of his cock, did you?

Lizzylou · 24/03/2010 07:42

AND even if I was a size 8 Cindy Crawford lookalike I would be put off with a request like that and tell him to stick it up his poo chute. How vacuous and shallow can you be?

Sorry, can you tell I am on your behalf?

YanknCock · 24/03/2010 07:59

oh shiney

What a stupid thing for him to say. MrCock and I are discussing....some possibility he just got verbal diarrhoea and put his foot in his mouth. Remember too that most men do not judge women's figures as harshly as we judge our own.

14/16 is completely average in the UK, and a lot of people think they have a 'type' but end up with someone completely different.

Whatever the case, we both think he was very stupid to say this to you, probably insensitivity more than anything, and quite daft to cause you anxiety before he's met you. MrCock said 'whatever his "preferences", you just DON'T say that to someone before you've met them'. He is lucky to be going on a date with you, and if he's the type of person who can't see past a few extra pounds, then he isn't worth it.

YanknCock · 24/03/2010 08:08

Do you think you will still go? I am not sure if I wouldI can completely understand you feeling anxious and worrying about being judged throughout the evening. You don't need it. If you cancel, I think you should tell him why, then block him from FB. I remember doing internet dating and trying to gauge which ones were obsessed with weight and which weren'tit is so hard.

And he has kind of yucky chest hair, btw.

Alicetheinvisible · 24/03/2010 08:30

Shiney what a Twat. Don't bother with him. Tell him you are actually only looking for Johnny Depp lookalikes with a big cock, and quite honestly he doesn't quite cut it, a shame but hey what a wanker!

Fucking knackered. DD up in the night scratching and crying, DH out on calls off and on all night. Could be a bad day

NormaSknockers · 24/03/2010 08:39

Morning all,

Shiney I'm sorry but sounds like you'd be better off not having a hot date with this twat as he, for example, is a twat! How dare he say something like that? Sorry but that is down right rude & uncalled for, you are lovely just as you are & he should find you attractive for you not who he wants you to be

Vinny at you going for a drive in your PJs

Weighed in this morning & have stayed the same I know that after 8/9 or however many weeks it is that I should expect that & we did have a weekend away as well as DHs birthday so I guess I should be grateful it's not a gain.
