Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

Hmm, I quite fancy a G&T...

Kitkatqueen · 21/03/2010 20:38

Hiya, thanks I'll start posting my cals tomorrow ( feel free to ignore the boring repetition of what I eat when I'm dieting!)

dideins Here's my problem! And why I need to use pages, If anyone knows the answer I'd love to fix it! Its playing havoc with my mning and ebay! which is a disaster!

When I look at my "i'm ons" and click on my name ( or anyones name ) in a thread I get taken to the top of the thread, so I can't find my place. If i'm on pages then I can remember that I posted on page 6 as so come back to that page.

On Ebay if I search for something and then get a list of items I come down the page a bit select a listing to look at at when I go back it takes me back to the top of the list, not to the last thing I looked at.

Its driving me nuts!

Thanks for my very own thread roundup tho that was great !!

iggi999 · 21/03/2010 20:48

Hullo. When are we getting a ride in your car Vinny? It is loverly.
Have had good day of pilates class (weird stuff) and shopping. Then home to a wrecked house and a puking bloke. Hope he keeps his germs away from me.
Have dress fitting tomorrow and am eating chocolate biscuits. WTF is wrong with me?

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 20:51

Yep i know that feeling and when i had time to read the thread I find pages useful. at the mo i only get a flick so use scroll and get to where i think i last looked and flick from that point.
The i'm on thing is a problem for everyone. it is a glitch that HQ are aware of but haven't yet fixed. I think that it is something that appear with big tech's big improvements that took 2 weeks to mend the diaster from.

Btw kitkat- call me DEM everyone else does and its my prefered.

Chaos- you is not new. I have spoken to you on shiney threads under two different names so you are officially not a proper newbie (full lose of newbie status to be confirmed by the shiney one [wink). Actually you have been on mn much longer then me and i believe you might have been one of the first people to speak to me on here when i first join over issues with ds. I came with problems and did that not done thing of a newbie and dumped the whole lot. You and a few others gave some good advice - which i took and situation inmproved. although I am currently writing to ds' school as we have issues again

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 20:51

Dress fitting, yay! Do you have a picture of your dress, or could you link to one like it?

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 20:53

i wish i had previewed that post. it is shocking.

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 20:53

Am exceedingly

DH makes a fab, rich bouillabaise (sp?) and we had some tonight. I was a bit when I entered the recipe into WW to get the points, 'cos I thought they'd be sky high. But I was wrong Four points per serving

I may have a second helping!

So, today I have had:

Pineapple & natural yoghurt
Bagel with cream chees, smoked salmon & cucumber
Chicken drumstick
Bouillabaise

Yum.

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 20:58

Kitkatqueen · 21/03/2010 21:00

Hi DEM No Worries

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 21:01

Mid-conversation DEM??

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 21:01

you get used to it. pendants hate my spelling, grammer/ar and post construction. tis just part of me though!

Kitkatqueen · 21/03/2010 21:03

Thanks 4 letting me know its a bigtech problem on the mn side of things tho, because my laptop died the week that he updated mn and when I asked recently if it was mn or me I didn't get a response.

I'm going to toddle over to ebay and check my settings.................

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 21:04

yes mid conversation. finished the important stuff first , it was something about a cd/music thingy erm. i appologised this morning to be told that no worries i obviously needed it. the lie in was lush though. 9am just delightful.

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 21:06

erm you read fb then dibs? how ya doing. not really seen you about for ages!

hellsbelles · 21/03/2010 21:06

wow sazz - you look fab!

DIB - you can have it every night then

We just got back - kanckered!

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 21:11

i am going to crash and get up early. night.

iggi999 · 21/03/2010 21:12

DIB I've just finished a book where they had bouillabaise sauce at a posh dinner party - hadn't a scooby what it was. So impressed I know the sort of people who eat it!

iggi999 · 21/03/2010 21:15

Trills, here it is (in blue for some reason, mine is ivory!) on a skinny girl
I have an organza shrug thing too.
Is there any point in continuing to try to lose weight/tone anything up with only 15 days to go?

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 21:16

What is bouillabaise? Is there fish in it? Get DH to put it on the recipe thread!

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 21:17

V stylish, is this the one with the corsetyness in it? I remember someone (probably you..?) saying about trying on non-weddingy dresses and then just loving the shape the corset makes

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 21:17

IMO more important to make sure that it fits rather than trying to lose weight.

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 21:18

DEM!

YanknCock · 21/03/2010 21:18

We took DS to out of hours doc on Saturday after calling NHS direct about the rashhe has an ear infection and a snotty nose. Struggling to feed because he can't breathe through his nose. We have an interesting new nasal aspirator thingee but DS hates it and screams when we use itit works though!

He's in bed now, but fully expect him to wake before midnight. This has been going on since Thursday (but think it was developing Wednesday). Going to take him to GP tomorrow and get his ear checked again. He still keeps having a fever and is miserable unless drugged on Calpol or Nurofen.

Mycat, good luck next week with your kick start. good summary!

advicereq at your ex!

DEM, just in case you are wondering, I don't go pedantic all the time. XH was very dyslexic and didn't 'believe' in punctuation. His blog is very hard to understand because of that, but I was expected to read it. So, lots of practice at deciphering!

Weigh in day for me tomorrow....who else? DIB? I have had 27.5 points today, and over the week have averaged 34 points per day. I was aiming for closer to 30, but definitely had to stay under 35, so goal achieved! We shall see if the scale agrees in the morning.

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 21:20

erm yes to fb then a girl is allowed to make the odd mistake will do but must sleep. hope all well!

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 21:20

Oooh, a proper wedding dress, Iggi.

It is fabulous, and I bet you feel, and look, fabulous in it. The pics you had on before certainly make it look like it.

Agree with Trills - fitting is way more important than 6lbs or so. And posture. REMEMBER YOUR POSTURE
