Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

It was too big and has been taken in. Asking for trouble! Tis corsety type so has lace up back so I have a bit of room for manoeuvre up or down.
Thing is if I decide it's too late, I am likely to yo-yo to excess, and feel like failed blob on the day.

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 21:22

yank, you will be familiar with my types of mistakes then. dyslexic here too. my space bar has a smooth shiney bit.... sleeeeeeeeeeeeep. night!

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/03/2010 21:24

iggy its on fb, vailed here, more info there.

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 21:26

Yes, my second-ever weigh-in tomorrow! Am quite excited, but the kitchen scales reckon I've only lost 1.25 lbs. I will be most put out, since I reckon I've been halving my usual intake ** cross, not envy

iggi999 · 21/03/2010 21:29

I think (and it's the last I will say on topic, promise!) that I need to work on the "feeling fabulous"/confidence part. Felt very self-conscious in it last time it was on (dressmaker different from the sales people, who work very hard to make you feel you look great!)
Think need to dig out my Paul McKenna cds for a boost.

Poor Yankbaby. I don't know if it is suitable at his age, but I love the tixylix battery machine (there are other brands too) that has a wee fan and whirrs out menthol stuff for 8 hours.

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 21:30

Sorry to hear about MiniYank - v impressed you have not drowned yourself in ice-cream to feel better.

How was last night's champers?

YanknCock · 21/03/2010 21:32

Have you got your weigh in ritual down yet? Mine means feed DS from both boobs, don't have breakfast until after weigh in, use the toilet a few times, and weigh in absolutely starkers.

to quote tesco....every little helps

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 21:33

No need to censor yourself, Iggi. I love wedding-talk

YanknCock · 21/03/2010 21:34

The champagne was actually quite good! Kensington Registry office obviously not skimping on the quality.

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 21:35

Ha ha ha

I may try the same thing, but I get weighed in the village hall at the WW class. They tend to frown on such things

TotalChaos · 21/03/2010 21:38

Dem - coo so I might not be a newbie then . I remember your threads about your DS and school, but couldn't honestly remember whether I posted on them or merely lurked sympathetically . Sorry to hear that there are problems again. Dumping problems is fine for a newbie - sometimes people do find here by googling a problemissue - got a feeling that's how I came across here in fact - it's just an issue when the problems take on troll like hooves.....

TotalChaos · 21/03/2010 21:40

Iggi - dress is lovely, very classy/classic and stylish.

Yank. sorry mini yank is still under the weather. I also have a weigh in ritual - earlyish morning, go for a pee and take clothes off

bellavita · 21/03/2010 21:41

Helloooooooooooo

Sorry about mini Yank , ear infections are just awful. DS1 has suffered since he was a baby with them. He had some ab's a few weeks ago, didn't quite clear it, but dr said it should clear up by itself and to make an appointment for 5 weeks time for us to go back and dr could make sure. 5 week is next Monday, but DS started complaining on Friday about the ear again.... so have managed to get him an appointment tomorrow night.

Had a lovely roast beef dinner, although I had mainly veg on my plate. A lovely M&S count on us choc mousse for afters. The boys had warm chocolate fudge cake with whipped cream and icecream .

Have just seen Sazz's pics on fb - she looks amaaaaaaaaaazing.

iggi999 · 21/03/2010 21:54

I am sewing.

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 21:56

Are you excited, Iggi? Or does it not feel quite real? Is the day itself two weeks tomorrow?

bellavita · 21/03/2010 21:57

Oooh get you Iggi

YanknCock · 21/03/2010 22:00

DIB, you can still have a ritual for public weigh-in

Wear same outfit (or alternatively wear something heavier and blame weight on clothes)

Take off jewelry, glasses, belts, shoes

Have a wee as close as possible to weigh-in time

YanknCock · 21/03/2010 22:07

bella, your poor DS. I hate ear infections. I had 5 within the first year I moved to the UK (which is 'chronic' for an adult), got referred to ENT, had tube shoved up nose and down throat. They didn't see anything and said to come back when I was actually having an ear infection....and ta da, I've not had one since, and that was over 6 years ago! I think my ears got scared.

Sazz, you do indeed look fab!

iggi, no need to censor! Remember, you just relax and enjoy the day, all brides look beautiful because they are so happy. I was huge at my wedding and still think I don't look too bad, because I was just so in lurrrrve.

iggi999 · 21/03/2010 22:08

It's Easter Tuesday. I'm not excited. I feel responsible for absolutely everything, and think this will continue on the day itself. Wish I had a wedding planner. Have also become paranoid that my DS is going to get out of hotel and drown in the river that's 30 yards away. And I will jump in in stupid dress and won't be able to swim.
Need to get a grip of myself! I did want the whole thing after all!

I used to wear the same shoes one day a week as I was going to weigh myself in Boots.

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 22:12

Do you have bridesmaids or a matron of honour, Iggi? If so, write down all the things you are worried about and simply hand it across. It is their job to look after you

iggi999 · 21/03/2010 22:13

at Yank. Maybe that's my problem, not feeling too much lurve at the moment!
DP is a pig when he's sick.

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 22:15

Quite right, Yank. I plan on wearing exactly the same as last week, only without drinking two pints of water beforehand Am actually getting a bit nervous, I've averaged about 17 points per day, and haven't seen any difference.

iggi999 · 21/03/2010 22:19

Thank you for advice DIB. I hadn't really thought of her doing anything (other than helping me go to loo ). She hasnt been involved so far, time to crack whip!

DreamsInBinary · 21/03/2010 22:22

Absolutely. This is your day. I do not hold with bridesmaids floating around and snogging all the decent men - they have a job to do

iggi999 · 21/03/2010 23:05

Have just eaten an orange instead of a dairy milk. On this virtuous note, good night.
