Can anyone help me quit smoking?

I'm so keen to stop. All advice and tips very gratefully received.

I am really excited

Which is weird I thought I would just be sad and scared like I normally am when I think about stopping .

I just hope I manage it and it doesn't hurt too much .

I stopped for about 20 months, whilst pg and bf. Then started up again, not many mind.. I have about 4/5 a week, once the kids are in bed and if I get a chocolate craving. My DP smokes so it's hard to not take that 5 mins with him out of the house!

I know I probably should be saying quit but tbh if I only smoked that many and didn't crave it at other times I would carry on

I have told loads of people that I am doing this dvd tonight , even my gp , so it just has to work .

I knew there had to be an upside to this no smoking lark
I will look forward to the dreaming .

I actually managed to drop the children off and go home without having a ciggie...very proud
But I really fancy one and need to go out in half an hour

Just think how proud you feel when you go to bed tonight and you haven't had a fag . You will only have to go through all these first days again at some point .

Please remind me of this shite I am spouting over the next couple of days

Yes I am watching it tonight , once the little people are in bed . I am getting a bit scared and nervy now but I am still really excited . I just don't want to be tied to the stinky fags any longer . And I know I am going to have to go through it at some point so I might as well get it done and behind me now .

So easy to say that today , please let this still be the case tomorrow .

Only a couple of hours to go now . My best friend has just rung me up to wish me luck . She is my smoking buddy and she has also tried many a time to stop . I am really hoping that she stops soon too . I know that when I see her next it will be tricky .

I don't blame you , I have been telling anyone and everyone that I am going to give up . Can you imagine what I will be like when I actually manage it ?

Very brave to tell the mums at the school , I think I have only ever seen one person smoking near the school . I am sure a lot of them do smoke but are big wusses like me and do it at home as their own grubby little secret .

That really made me laugh , and that is exactly the reason why I need to stop .
My two are 3 and 6 and I know it won't be long before the older one starts learning all about the evil weed at school and decides to tell me all about it and lecture me .
