Hello guys. Yes, 2 weeks tomorrow, well today as it's already tomorrow as I'm up LATE as always.

I've had a nice week with dd. maybe it's easier for me as I've only got one kid and a girl so they're pretty amenable to joining in with most things. I've had moments though where my temper really hasn't been what I'd like it to be! I still feel like I have a very short fuse and then I feel guilty afterwards for being so mean to dd. But i balance it in my mind by thinking I'm being good to her in the long run by quitting.

And today, honestly, I don't think I even once thought of having a cigarette. Isn't that amazing???

Hiya

That is amazing violet , to not even have thought of them at all all day . I just can't imagine that day . You must be so pleased .

Sounds like you had a good night Depeche . Well done for not coming on here and wittering on like I did

All ok here , have to have my last b12 injection today (well last one for 3 months anyway) then off to do some food shopping and general house type stuff .

The b12 def helps me , I had a load of blood tests at the drs and one of the things they came back with was my b12 was very low and since the injections I have felt better , but I have also started taking all the vits as well so it is probably a mix of the two .

Hope the hangover gets better

And you Depeche !

violetbloom · 19/02/2010 10:34

If I think back to 2 weeks ago ... I was feeling like this:

" Today I haven't smoked once. And I don't have any. Lunchtime will be a bit test - lots of shops nearby ...

Gimme strength someone? I feel quite determined today although wonder if doing it right before the weekend is really such a great idea ... "

And even though I don't think I'm over the cravings / urge to smoke, it is quite amazing how I feel in just 2 weeks. Definitely the first week was the worst, the first 5 days, then it's got easier each day.

Now I mostly feel a pang of 'loss' when I'm about to do something that I enjoyed doing with a cigarette.

But ... no going back!!!

That pang of loss rings true with me as well violet . I keep thinking about my night out tomorrow and I know there will be moments when I think I am missing out on something by not standing outside and smoking with my friend .

But I also know that there will also be moments when I will be sitting in the warm and thinking thank god that isn't me anymore

How we all doing today ? I have eaten twice my body weight in rubbish today

I think it is the law because we know that come next week we are going to be all fit and healthy

I have got a healthy dinner planned but I doubt I will want it after all the shite I have eaten

Hope the hangover is better .

violetbloom · 19/02/2010 17:09

I haven't had the urge to eat more just yet. If anything I've kind of lost my appetite. I do have cupasoups in the evening, I don't know why, but in those first few days they seemed to satisfy the fag urges - hot and tangy at the back of the throat.

Again, today, barely thought about smoking and actually don't fancy one.

Wow ! I am very impressed on both counts . Actually my appetite hasn't really gone up , I do have the ability to be a bit of a hog every now and then anyway
Hence the diet starting on monday

That must feel so nice now to not even think about it at all . Weirdly I am getting more urges to smoke now rather than less
I know I won't smoke but I am remembering the pleasure now where as in the beginning I didn't really .

Very odd , but I won't give in to it .

violetbloom · 20/02/2010 22:25

But it's all psychological now travelling, isn't it? The memory of the 'reward' cigarette? I was talking about it to a friend who also quit smoking about 6 months ago and she still has that. That's what makes it hard to quit, nothing to replace it with. but that's a small price to pay to save your health and be able to look forward to a future with dcs.

Well I have just weighed myself and it seems I was being generous with myself thinking I only needed to lose 2 stone . It is more like two and half .

I am just about to have a toasted bagel and a banana . I need to get my backside into gear and do some excercise as well .

My body is going to go into shock at this rate

No cigarettes and no rubbish eating it won't know what to do with itself

Morning , I am not doing too good on the eating front tbh . I have got a stinky cold and have nearly lost my voice which my boys obviously think is very funny . But I am trying .

How about you ?

But I am still a NON smoker

It is indeed , I am really pleased .

Why was the smoking thing so hard yesterday do you think ? Just one of those days ?

The swimming sounds a good plan , I am officially a hopeless swimmer . I could manage to stop myself from drowning but I have no style and I always end up with a sore neck

violetbloom · 23/02/2010 16:56

Oddly enough, I ahd a wobbly day yesterday too. I kept feeling so tempted to get some fags. i had a boring day, lots fo tedious work to do and I've realised that boredom and tiredness are real triggers for me. Unlike most I'm not a comfort eater so I've got no other 'reward' type thing to do.

But today is better. I've barely thought about it.
