I got news this morning that one of my friends died yesterday. She was in her very early 30's, two young children and everything to live for. Despite a mastectomy a couple of years ago, the cancer spread and she is gone. I can't tell you how dreadful I feel.

It is so important that we check our breasts regularly. It takes a few minutes and could save your life.
One of my best friends had a message just like this one, but it was face to face and by her boyfriends exgf who also had just had a mastectomy because of breast cancer. This message from such an unlikely messenger almost certainly saved my best friends life.

Pass the message on please ladies. Make sure your friends and family are nudged into remembering to check.

Increase your chances of detecting breast cancer in its earliest stages with a Digital Infrared Thermal imaging "DITI" screening.
Non-invasive, No Radiation, Painless, No Contact with the body, FDA approved. Only downside it's not available on the NHS, look up meditherm.com/breasthealth for more info.

And not to forget that certain chemicals in Anti-perspirants have been linked to Breast Cancer, many of us apply these to our shaved armspits regularly without thinking twice, google "Dr.Phillipa Darbre" who has researched this and discovered exactly what harm we may be doing.

Hi, well I went and it was a bit of a fiasco but the good news is that the dr thinks it's a fibrous growth.

It turns out that they do not have a specialist in Gibraltar, so a doctor is flown out from the UK every so often. He gave me an ultrasound and would have liked me to have a mammogram and a biopsy.
Unfortunately, the mammographer was at the hairdressers as my appointment was classed as out of hours. Why fly someone form the uk and then not have the back up team????

So I have the mammogram on Monday, after the specialist has gone???? and not sure when biopsy is.

It is good news by the look of it but might just take a while to have it confirmed.

Anyway slowly , slowly catchy monkey rant over!

So they were going to try and fit me in over the weekend

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/03/2010 08:51

what a palaver Amapoleon - but it sounds good news - I think if it was worrying they'd push for quicker biopsy. I think ultrasounds give a better picture anyway for younger women, which is what I guess you are (compared to me !)
Anyway, lots of luck and keep in touch.

Excellent news so far Amapoleon, hope all other tests go well too.
