I got news this morning that one of my friends died yesterday. She was in her very early 30's, two young children and everything to live for. Despite a mastectomy a couple of years ago, the cancer spread and she is gone. I can't tell you how dreadful I feel.

It is so important that we check our breasts regularly. It takes a few minutes and could save your life.
One of my best friends had a message just like this one, but it was face to face and by her boyfriends exgf who also had just had a mastectomy because of breast cancer. This message from such an unlikely messenger almost certainly saved my best friends life.

Pass the message on please ladies. Make sure your friends and family are nudged into remembering to check.

Pleased to hear it.

Question for you re fans on fb...can you set up a 'fan base' if you don't have a business? don't know if you happened to look at my profile pictures, but I have a hobby...

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/03/2010 22:17

yes, you can set up a fan page for anything - I have one for my mum's cat even as well as my kind dog one..it's good for getting your name about I think - have had quite a few commissions from the fan page...

solo · 01/03/2010 22:51

Thank you. I will have to do that then... try to get a few blanket orders in.

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/03/2010 07:17

yes,I'm sure - or practice nurse.

ninah · 07/03/2010 20:24

would you investigate a sore achy feeling, no lump, at the side of breast? have noticed for several days now and have not taken any unusual kind of exercise

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/03/2010 20:53

I think if there's anything usual for you then it's worth investigating, for your own peace of mind. A couple of years ago I had quite sharp pains in my breast which lasted a few weeks -got my doctor to check and it wasn't anything.

solo · 07/03/2010 23:39

Riven, definitely make an appointment at the Well Woman/family planning clinic. They will be more than happy to check yourbreasts for you and if they aren't Demand help.
