People of the world, join hands, join our TOTALly fabulous healthy eating thread.

We are a group of MNetters who wish we lost a pound for every post we have made on this thread since our benevolent leader started her SHINEY threads many, many months ago now.

I am Syc, and I was once deputy although life has slightly got in the way in the last month or so. But, inspired by our recent TOTAL yoghurt bonanza, I'm back and on the wagon.

Join us, we are a friendly bunch but like to waste as many calories as possible through moving our digits very swiftly over the keyboards and posting like women possessed

All denominations here, so whatever way you want to lose weight, maintain or just focus on healthier eating, you will fit right in.

Yes, Shiney it is

Fear not.

I think the whole "Is Shiney Cod?" could become a great conspiracy theory that will run and run

morning all - having a crap crap day but perked up enormously by being called 'fab!'

I agree you lot were very welcoming so think we should gracefully ignore anyone moaning to the contrary

Lizzylou · 09/11/2009 09:55

Forgot that you were also Gina Ford

He he he

SparklyAlice · 09/11/2009 10:11

Ooh, just got some freebie eczma cream in the post from filling out a thing on MN, my first freebie!!! (i know not very exciting, but it will be if it works!)

VinegarTits · 09/11/2009 10:14

Oh there is another one in chat - 'i think i know who cod is'

I think it is cod herself who has started it

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/11/2009 10:22

Morning everyone

Shredded Wheat for breakfast.

Alice that is exciting - I have never bothered with any competitions etc on here on the basis that I probably wouldn't win so well done!

TrillianAstra · 09/11/2009 10:32

She was asking who or what is Shiney (again) so I thought I'd say 'sssssh, Shiney is Cod but don't tell anyone'. Thought it would be funny. You know, bring up how you are being accused of doing exactly what she was accused of - gathering followers, being a gang/cult, y'know.

Busy at work - only me, 2 people missing from my team and a whole bunch missing from the rest of the office too.

hellsbelles · 09/11/2009 10:54

it's all bobbins in my opinion - I think that this thread is very very welcoming...but it does take a lot to keep up...it's very difficult to just dip in and out...so perhaps people feel left out if they don't have time to do that - it's certainly not down to anyone here being mean!

Vinny - are you doing that 'catching each others eye and then blushing a bit' thing. I used to love that in my single days....

Trills are you properly better?

Alice - brill - well done.

Alibaba - that's the thing with competitions...despite what everyone thinks sometimes very few people do enter them so your chances of winning are actually pretty good. I remember once there was a comp to win a mini (can't remember who with )and I heard through the grapevine that only 5 people entered - so if you have the time it's always worth giving it a go in case you chance upon one of those type of comps!!

mummylin2495 · 09/11/2009 10:58

pops in again with some lovely warm buttered [ low fat ] butter, make sure you share them around though.

VinegarTits · 09/11/2009 10:58

Hells we are not catching each others eyes as i have my back to him (although he is sitting next to me, our desks are at an angle)

He just asked me for a stappler, our hands brushed when i passed it, he has very cold hands

God how embarrassing would it be if he was reading this over my shoulder

VinegarTits · 09/11/2009 11:03

Mummylin, warm buttered butter sounds very unhealthy, have you got any warm buttered bread by any chance?

hellsbelles · 09/11/2009 11:05

Very jealous Vinny - sounds fun. Did you get that electricity thing!

Mummy - put that 'buttered butter??' away you temptress....I have never heard of anything quite so potentially fattening But I will have some buttered toast if that is what you have.

mummylin2495 · 09/11/2009 11:11

just to say to those of you on this thread ,the scuttle thread in its time has always been accused of being a clique, but its not ,its exactly the same as this where a group of people have got to know each other and we discuss anything, problems ,families etc,of course anyone is welcome but because they dont know any of the past histoy of any of us i would imagine they cant make head or tail of our conversation,so they feel left out.I think your thread is very welcoming even though i havent a clue what is going on !

was meant to say warm buttered crumpets !

bellavita · 09/11/2009 11:36

Ooh I love buttered crumpets. I am going to have a jacket potato for my lunch from the canteen. The staff get to go at 12.45 before the rabble kids go for theirs.

Started work at 8.55 this morning - invigilating for yr11 exams. I am just being paid for the exam bit this morning, so have been out to Morrisons to get a few bits and now am in the little hidey hole behind reception.

TrillianAstra · 09/11/2009 11:39

Buttered buttery goodness...

bellavita · 09/11/2009 11:47

Well, seen as no one is here to talk to me I might as well go and get a coffee and sit at my desk >

VinegarTits · 09/11/2009 11:49

I'm here Bella, i'll have a cup of tea of you are putting the kettle on

TrillianAstra · 09/11/2009 12:26

I'm having a cup of tea too, waiting nervously for America to get up and start issuing orders.

wastingaway · 09/11/2009 12:32

Afternoonm, crumpets sound good mummylin, thank you. Virtual snacks are fab.

Hope the dentists went as well as it could Lizzy.

Lovely way to start the week Vin.

How do you do your sausage casserole Ali?

I had yesterday 'off the record' without counting points. I heard they do this on Biggest Loser, and who am I to argue?
I didn't go mad though, and had water at the pub instead of the sugary evil that is J20.

Having proper snack meals mid-morning and mid-afternoon for the last few days has really helped me avoid a big energy drop and resulting binge.

DH will be starting another stint of working away a lot soon, so I'll have most evenings to myself, so I'll try and remember how to use the Wii Fit this week.
