People of the world, join hands, join our TOTALly fabulous healthy eating thread.

We are a group of MNetters who wish we lost a pound for every post we have made on this thread since our benevolent leader started her SHINEY threads many, many months ago now.

I am Syc, and I was once deputy although life has slightly got in the way in the last month or so. But, inspired by our recent TOTAL yoghurt bonanza, I'm back and on the wagon.

Join us, we are a friendly bunch but like to waste as many calories as possible through moving our digits very swiftly over the keyboards and posting like women possessed

All denominations here, so whatever way you want to lose weight, maintain or just focus on healthier eating, you will fit right in.

I have managed to fold and put away some clean washing and turn on the washing machine and hang up the wet washing. I've also put a ham in the oven. That is enough work for today.

Oh, and I painted my nails.

bellavita · 08/11/2009 17:41

Mitts, I love rice pudding too

and I too have just put a ham in the oven Trills! I roast one on a Sunday and it does our sandwiches for the week.

SazZaVoom · 08/11/2009 17:56

5 loads of washing done, much hidying (we have no storage so have to be inventive when trying to tidy )

Most of dinner prepared (Hot smoked salmon with watercress creme fraiche followed by Lamb cutlets in a jus with dauphinoise potato, brocolli and red cabbage). Yummy

DD1 here is having a Hello Kitty party in 2 weeks time for her 3rd birthday as she loves it - Do i have this for another 8 years to look forward to

Shiney - have you seen the jersey Hello Kitty dresses in M&S? They are lovely but out of stock for 3YO

jaquelinehydeTheBonfireToffee · 08/11/2009 18:00

OK how do I explain toe socks to a 4 year old?

I have just had a long argument about it, to the point that I lost the will to live and conceded that yes mummy does in fact like to put gloves on her feet.

DD1 has now put all her socks back into her draw (that she took out to prove the natural shape of socks) and is walking round with a smug look on her face.

I am still sat on the sofa

bellavita · 08/11/2009 18:03

Your dinner sounds lovely SazZ

Kids eh jaq....

TrillianAstra · 08/11/2009 18:22

Oooh, posh dinner Saz.

DP has gone out for man beer (on my bike), I have ditched come dine with me and am watching back to the future instead.

Considering what I might eat...

LOL at 'the natural shape of a sock' Jac

bellavita · 08/11/2009 18:36

I have just had a cup of homemade soup. What I really would like is some chocolate spread on some bread that I can cut like a doorstep.

Iggipepperedfillet · 08/11/2009 19:13

D'ya think we could get sponsorship from Angel Delight, too?

jetforkesandbonfires · 08/11/2009 19:27

oooh i think we should go for Angel Delight sponsorship

Have a look here my lovely friends, i have just been offered a 2 and 3 seater sofa from freecycle Am so happy i could cry

jaquelinehydeTheBonfireToffee · 08/11/2009 19:36

I moved... had a bath... now back on the sofa

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/11/2009 19:50

Jet - wow that is amazing! Have you decided what to do about christmas or still debating?

Sazz that dinner sounds lovely.

Jaq - at your DD.

We have just had sausage and bean pasta bake for dinner, was yummy. Had half the amount we normally would, the rest is in the fridge for tomorrow.

jetforkesandbonfires · 08/11/2009 19:56

thanks Ali, and well done on moving off the couch Jaq

The way things stand at the moment - they are going to their dads at 5 on xmas day, then coming home at 5 on the 27th, as it their normal weekend for being there. I dont know how i feel about it to be honest - i know junior does want to see her grandad etc, but it kind of feels like its going to be a very short xmas

I guess i will have to make plans for what to do when they come back

Morning all

Ate and drank too much last night, managed 5.5hrs sleep between a late night and DC's up in the night and then up at 6.20

Everyone else (well apart from a VERY awake DD2) in the house, all six of them, happily snoozing

Jet - can they not go Boxing day maybe to the 28th? Until 5pm on Xmas day does sound so short . Lovely sofa BTW, some people are very generous

SparklyAlice · 09/11/2009 08:30

Morning ladies

So did anyone actually want the Hello Kitty stuff? It is a black canvas tote bag with pink handles and big HK on the front and mini purse attached and then a separate black HK purse. Also have got a Little miss naughty bubble bath (also from stepmum)if anyone wants that. All free, and i will happily pay the postage on it, will help with my guilt

Lizzylou · 09/11/2009 08:35

Morning all

Had PIL's round yesterday so was cleaning/entertaining.

Have had FB mesages from Shiney/Ali and Jet so will post stuff out this week (may be Wednesday before I can sort/post etc), hope thats OK.

Realised why I have been sobbing/weeping all weekend, bloody time of the month. We are all in synch then, as I am a few days early.
Be nice to me, I am a hormonal water retaining mess at the moment

DH is off today and tomorrow to help with childcare as the CM is on hols. So will not have as much time to post on MN and am having my tooth out later this morning

Have good days!

As an aside, how many people think that Shiney is Cod? Was on a thread last night about how MN has dumbed down and someone else asked if they were one and the same

Shiney, it was someone else, last night on an "Has MN lost the power for interesting debate?" type thread.

I agree, Hells is fab.

There have always been groups on MN, Ante/Post natal, Weight loss, Scuttlers, 10/10......
