People of the world, join hands, join our TOTALly fabulous healthy eating thread.

We are a group of MNetters who wish we lost a pound for every post we have made on this thread since our benevolent leader started her SHINEY threads many, many months ago now.

I am Syc, and I was once deputy although life has slightly got in the way in the last month or so. But, inspired by our recent TOTAL yoghurt bonanza, I'm back and on the wagon.

Join us, we are a friendly bunch but like to waste as many calories as possible through moving our digits very swiftly over the keyboards and posting like women possessed

All denominations here, so whatever way you want to lose weight, maintain or just focus on healthier eating, you will fit right in.

Anybody there? Trying to tell myself that watching Dawn of the Dead is probably not a great idea when I am on own in flat (DS/DP at GPs). And drinking. Have stayed out of fridge though.

EinsteinBentLight · 08/11/2009 00:21

tiptoes in, puts out fresh bowl of fruit, turns light off and tiptoes out.

SparklyAlice · 08/11/2009 08:03

Good morning all

sorry for my patheticness yesterday I think i may have a UTI again, so that would explain why i have been feeling a bit low. Not drinking enough water!!!

Quite a lot of exercise planned for today, got to give the stables a really good clean out (anyone care to join me? ) and will ride one, possibly 2 horses this afternoon.

Going to try some more soup recipes later too, will let you know how i get on

Have a good day all, and remember to drink lots of water

bellavita · 08/11/2009 09:17

Morning

Alice - hope you feel better today? I have only ever once had a UTI and it was the worst thing ever and I would not wish it on anyone.

Just had some porridge with fresh mango on top.

Got lots to do today and DH is still in bed although when I spoke to my mum last night (who was also at my brothers yesterday), she said to me oh and J worked so hard today poor lad he never stopped once. So I suppose he is entitled to a lie in.

I have got a feeling though we will be visiting Mr KFC today as we are going straight from town to the huge retail park on the M62 so Ican go look at sofas.

Catch up with you all later x

wastingaway · 08/11/2009 09:56

Morning, thanks for the fruit Einst.

Glad DH worked hard when he got there at least Bella. We were up at Ikea last weekend, had a McDonalds. I think it's obligatory.

Glad you're feeling better Alice.

What are 'shagbands'? They sound horrid!

Can't wait to get my Macbook fixed! Sharing the laptop means I don't get on much evenings and weekends. Means a trip to Meadowhell to the Apple shop though. In the pre-Christmas shopping period.

Lizzylou · 08/11/2009 10:08

Bella, you and your DH are both good, giving people. I am glad that all is OK now, enjoy your shopping and the KFC.

Am just ordering Life is Beautiful, £2.99 delivered from Play.com, Bof and Iggi. It is harder to watch films like these once you've had DC, I agree, Iggi. Bruno the little German (nazi) boy in the film last night really reminded me of DS1.

Got PIL's coming for Sunday Lunch/Dinner, so will be cleaning up in preparation.

Got to have my tooth extracted tomorrow, deep joy!

Lizzylou · 08/11/2009 10:08

Oh, Glad you are feeling better, Alice.
Enjoy your day

bellavita · 08/11/2009 10:09

Wasting - so you live in Yorkshire then?

bellavita · 08/11/2009 10:11

Aww Lizzy you always say the nicest things to me the flippin tears are threatening to come out... right am off before I make a fool of myself. x

Iggipepperedfillet · 08/11/2009 10:18

Morning, cheerier today than last week as have lost a kg at weigh-in (think that's about 2lbs?) so have a bit of strength to carry on! Sorry you are poorly Alice, though you would perhaps feel less ill if you got a bit more help round the house
Does anyone have sunshine where you are?

FlamingoBingo · 08/11/2009 10:38

Hello everyone.

DH has taken the DDs to his parents so I am on my own for the day again

My brother is hopefully taking me out for lunch again

I really need this break though - have been starting to get snappy again.

Any more suggestions for exercise?

wastingaway · 08/11/2009 10:46

Bella, yes, I'm in Doncaster.

Iggi, well done! Chucking it down here.

TrillianAstra · 08/11/2009 11:05

Morning. Still feeling a bit crap, didn't sleep so well last night either. Have just made some angel delight (also from my run to the shop for crap food yesterday). Trying no to think about having to go to work tomorrow.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/11/2009 11:36

Morning everyone

Trill - hope you feel better soon

FB - enjoy your day!

Alice - glad you're feeling better

Bella - so glad you and DH have sorted things. Rows are horrid

Went to Ikea yesterday, resisted meatballs and hot dogs and had some pasta with a salad. DH cooked steak and chips for dinner, but we only had one bottle of vino - so so so much better than I would have managed on a similar day a month or so ago.

Am making sausage casserole for dinner.

Hope everyone has a good day

Iggipepperedfillet · 08/11/2009 11:49

Thank you Wasting!
Trills Angel delight is sooo lovely! Maybe it contains lots of vitamins and minerals which your body is currently requiring?

SparklyAlice · 08/11/2009 11:50

I really am falling apart atm, just sat sobbing in the kitchen because dd grabbed my face really hard and it was just the last straw really. I haven't cried since DD was a newborn, so hopefully have got it all out of my system. Looks like TTc hasn't worked either, may give it another 6months before trying again, feel i need to get everything back together properly.

Looking forward to riding this afternoon though.

Is a little bit sunny here today

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/11/2009 11:57

Alice

Iggipepperedfillet · 08/11/2009 11:58

oh I'm sorry Alice, it's so awful when they do something like that, even though you know in an hour from now they might be all over you (having completely forgotten it all, unlike you). Sorry, don't know how old DD is, but I'm assuming young if you haven't cried since birth, being a daily crier myself when DS was a baby! What would help you right now? Do you need to get out on your own for a bit? Or have a RL hug from someone?

jetforkesandbonfires · 08/11/2009 12:04
VinegarTits · 08/11/2009 12:10

Morning (or is it afternoon? i only just got up )

Have you got anti-b's for that UTI Alice? i had one late on in my pg with ds2 and the anti-b's didnt clear it so it went undetected until after i gave birth then when i was in the hospital i got very ill because it spread to my blood and i had a temp of 105 for a week

they were rushing round trying find out what was wrong with me, pumping me full of Anit-b's through a drip but they were the wrong kind so temp wasnt going down and they were in a panic until blood tests came back and they knew it was a uti and gave me the right kind of meds to clear it, it was horrible i wouldnt ever want to be that ill again, so make sure you take your meds Alice love, and finish the course (i didnt, and regretted it) hope you feel better soon

VinegarTits · 08/11/2009 12:22

I started watching life is beautiful last night but fell asleep, will watch again later

I wont watch the boy in the stripped pajamas, because i cant be doing with how bad sad stories make me feel, i will cry buckets and it will play on my mind for weeks and i will be depressed

Got to be careful with sad films they have a v negative effect on me

VinegarTits · 08/11/2009 12:23

I wont even watch Marley and Me, becuase i heard the dog dies

SparklyAlice · 08/11/2009 12:24

Thanks all

Iggi - DD will be 2 next week

Feeling calmer now, and a bit more stoical about everything (the usual me)

VT - I never had UTI's til i was pg, then was in hosp having cx at 26weeks because of one. Since then, if i eat too much processed food and don't drink enough, it seems i get a low level one that pints of water and peeing every 5mins seems to shift. Will see how i am tomorrow and if still crap, will go to GP. Really hate AB's with a passion though.

Must go and feed my DD and drink some water, thank you all for being nice to me, don't deserve it, just being a bit pathetic

Iggipepperedfillet · 08/11/2009 12:30

Eh, not sure why you don't deserve it! I'd better watch with my regular whinging then! Coming up for 2 was a big hitting time with mine. He like to stick his long nails into my chin, I remember that well. Has tailed off for some reason at 2.3. Hope the day picks up for you.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/11/2009 12:32

Lizzy - I have sent you a message on facebook, or at least I hope it's you! Otherwise someone else has got a random message about dressing gowns with my address in it!
