People of the world, join hands, join our TOTALly fabulous healthy eating thread.

We are a group of MNetters who wish we lost a pound for every post we have made on this thread since our benevolent leader started her SHINEY threads many, many months ago now.

I am Syc, and I was once deputy although life has slightly got in the way in the last month or so. But, inspired by our recent TOTAL yoghurt bonanza, I'm back and on the wagon.

Join us, we are a friendly bunch but like to waste as many calories as possible through moving our digits very swiftly over the keyboards and posting like women possessed

All denominations here, so whatever way you want to lose weight, maintain or just focus on healthier eating, you will fit right in.

Oh Alice, I do understand what you mean, honestly. Do you think your DH will take it on board? Could you get someone in to sand the flors then you could have a relaxing weekend to yourself?
You have a good old wallow and a laze around, you deserve it.

Have spent most of the afternoon at work ordering with that £25 code Here's hoping it all shows up!

Hope you all have good nights, am watching the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas with DH (who is v tired but seems ok). DS2 hasn't eaten much but seems far better. He is gutted I won't be sleeping with him though.

bellavita · 07/11/2009 20:12

bellavita · 07/11/2009 20:18

He is a young Mr Tumble isnt he?

I keep talking like Stacey, cant help it

bellavita · 07/11/2009 20:26

I think it was the pants and high heels that did it , although he does agree she is dippy.

VinegarTits · 07/11/2009 21:19

Arghhh am panicking now about the discount code thingy

Do you think it will be ok?

BitOfFun · 07/11/2009 21:25

So far so good for me Vinny- we can always send it back if not- don't worry!

jetforkesandbonfires · 07/11/2009 21:32

this will make you smile - although it made me look something like this

Junior has been to a little kids party today with mini, and they were each given a party bag, as you do.

Fast forward an hour or so, and she rings me from her dads (first overnight contact for 8 months - things are somewhat fraught).

She announces to me (in full earshot of her dad)

("birthday kids mum) has put shagbands in my party bag"

Turns out they are those stupid wrist band things, that each colour means something different in the world of sex. SHe only knows about them through them being banned at school.

Now, Junior, as you may or not know, is dyspraxic and quite possibly has aspergers as well (waiting on assessment), and she takes things very literally. SHe now thinks that my friend thinks she is having sex, and is mortified

Not as mortified as i was hearing her keep mentioning the word "shag" in front of her dad.

Mind, she was then more mortified than me when i actually explained what the word meant - as she didnt have a clue

Made for an interesting conversation.....

Vinny, I am sure it will be fine.

I have ordered something before on one of those codes, it was ok.

VinegarTits · 07/11/2009 21:36

All my discounts have been applied according to the transaction history, so not worried about that, just worried they might take money back off me at a later date when they realise

bellavita · 07/11/2009 21:36

Oooops jet

OMG, has anyone seen Boy in the Striped Pyjamas?
Have been sobbing full body sobs.

Jet at shagbands.

I always use discount codes, have used the £25 one 4 times today, last fortnight I had an Additions one spend £60 pay £30, goods came and monies paid back in straight away.
Honest, nothing to worry about

Iggipepperedfillet · 07/11/2009 22:27

Hi, I've indulged in the £25 off too. I wouldn't have worried about the code except for what other thread said about them reclaiming the money in the past. If they did that, could we have a mumsnet anti-campaign to change their minds?!

BitOfFun · 07/11/2009 22:32

Oh I loved Boy In The Striped Pyjamas- the book was even better though. Have you ever seen Life Is Beautiful (La Vitta E Bella)? You really must, it is so funny and tragic and moving- look it up on IMDB

DreamsInPyrotechnics · 07/11/2009 22:38

Is anyone watching The Thick of It? The PR idiot is Archie from Balamory. Brilliant.

Lizzylou · 07/11/2009 22:38

BOF, I have never seen Life is beautiful.

I have never read the book of Striped Pyjamas, is it better? I have just wept whilst loading the dishwasher, I think I may stick to DH's Zombie/Action films.

Nae worries about the codes girls, I really do not buy anything over the internet without a code (weekly tesco shop/hotels/presents/clothes, the lot). If they try and get full price and I don't think it is worth that then I will send it back.

Lizzylou · 07/11/2009 22:39

Am watching it too, DIBs. Was most pleased to see the original Aveline from Bread, hadn't recognised Archie!

BitOfFun · 07/11/2009 22:48

The book is really good. Do look that film up- it is SUPERB. You really wouldn't think you could make a movie about the holocaust that is whimsical, but it darkens in mood, obviously, but it's about a dad who is trying to make his little boy believe it's all a game where you get more points if you don't cry etc, and you have to stay brave to win the prize etc. It is funny but so tragic too. You will laugh, cry, and think. It's amazing.

Iggipepperedfillet · 07/11/2009 22:57

I've seen it, 'tis good. Don't think I could watch it now, post child! Too upsetting. Having said that, I show films like Hotel Rwanda at work and have to watch them over and over again, so that has toughened me up.
