Let it SHIIIIIII-IIINE, Let it Shine....waltzing about in rude good health like we are all in an M&S ad

Welcome to the latest in our series of healthy eating threads (26 and counting)!

The emphasis is on health (which is sometimes rude when we get chatting frivolously, as is our tendency), and weight loss where desired. I obviously don't desire it enough, as I am the same weight as when I started, but some of our regulars are mere shadows of their former selves ...

Do come and sign in here if you are with us, or want to join in- all welcome.

We try a variety of approaches, and there is always a lot of support and quite a few laughs along the way. Shiney is the head honcho round these parts, and we do get to be regaled with her embarrassing stories before the rest of MN, so that's always a big draw

Join us if you will!

Lizzy - so sorry to hear about DHs Grandmother

Lizzylou · 30/10/2009 15:59

DH's Grandma died a few hours ago. They were called into the hospital as the Medical staff wanted to inform them that they would manage her pain and distress but not actively do anything to keep her alive. PIL came home and were going back to the hospital at 4pm. Whilst FIL was on the phone to me telling me what was going on, MIL got a call on her mobile to say tha she'd passed. FIL just broke down . DH is with them now, so sad.

She was such a lovely lady, but had become very frail these past few years.

Norma, I am sorry about your driving test, love.

NormaSknockers · 30/10/2009 16:06

vastingavay · 30/10/2009 16:34

TrillianSlasher · 30/10/2009 16:55

If you can't find it I figure there isn't one - we're usually fairly obviously named so other people can ignore us

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 30/10/2009 17:07

Norma..shame about the driving test...can you get help with your nerves?

And Lizzy love, I am so sorry for you all, a very sad time.

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 30/10/2009 17:12

Aw sorry Lizzy

And Norma, don't worry about your test, I too have failed twice and hope to get another one in before Christmas. Get stuck in and get another one booked straight away.

(friend who came with me thinks ex was high or something)

NormaSknockers · 30/10/2009 17:40

Booked it again as soon as I got home Squeezy Did you get your cards ok?

At the moment it's a toss up between bran flakes & a take away

VineGruesomeTits · 30/10/2009 17:44

So sorry to hear about your DH's nan Lizzy, was she his dads mum? must be so awful for his parents

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 30/10/2009 17:44

Good for you Jet, that is a weight off your mind.

Yes Norma Cards are gorgeous, absolutely love them to bits! MIL and DH are going to be so chuffed with them.

We were going to have stuffed tortellini with red pesto but DH has just mentioned the T word. Takeaway.

Flamingo, macaroni cheese is one of my most favourite things in the world.

NormaSknockers · 30/10/2009 17:47

yay - so pleased you're pleased

Sorry to hear about your driving tests too - really knocks your confidence doesn't it?

Who's TIT for this thread? I'm we haven't got a new one yet

BiteOfFun · 30/10/2009 17:58

Poor Norma- you'll do it next time, really.

Lizzylou- I'm so sorry, that's really sad- sounds like you'll all miss her

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 30/10/2009 17:59

Thanks all. Yes,VT it was FIL's Mom. He did so much for her, she really needed 24hr care but wouldn't move out of her bungalow so PILs and DH's Aunt and Uncle split her care between them. DH is still out, think he must be at the hospital/PILs.

Have taken the DS's to a Halloween party, I told them Great Grandma was a star in the sky and they picked one out each, then argued over which one it was!
DSs also customised his Spider costume by adding a purple Wizards cloak and a Knights chainmail hat thingy . They are now buzzing on sugar and treats.

Not sure what to do for dinner, will call DH in a wee while and see what he wants me to do. Don't want to intrude or come across like I am nagging him at the moment. He needs to be there for his Dad.
