Welcome to the latest in our series of healthy eating threads (26 and counting)!

The emphasis is on health (which is sometimes rude when we get chatting frivolously, as is our tendency), and weight loss where desired. I obviously don't desire it enough, as I am the same weight as when I started, but some of our regulars are mere shadows of their former selves ...

Do come and sign in here if you are with us, or want to join in- all welcome.

We try a variety of approaches, and there is always a lot of support and quite a few laughs along the way. Shiney is the head honcho round these parts, and we do get to be regaled with her embarrassing stories before the rest of MN, so that's always a big draw

Join us if you will!

Do you need a spade Trill?

TrillianSlasher · 30/10/2009 09:10

Spade for digging? I will explain: On a style thread that I can't find Flamingo was saying 'am I too old to wear....' and got told 'no you are young don't be silly', and she said she didn't think of herself as young because of being a mother of 4. But having seen the pics (and the legs, which are awesome) I wanted to say yep, definitely young.

FlamingoBingo · 30/10/2009 09:10

You didn't say that, no, Trill. I give myself a shock sometimes when I realise I had 4 children by the time I was 28!

It means I've got plenty of time to have a whole new family in 7 or 8 years time if I want

bellavita · 30/10/2009 09:12

Ooooh I a gonna wear a hat

FlamingoBingo · 30/10/2009 09:12

Oh Trills!

This thread is now even more my favourite place on MN ever, ever, ever. My head is getting far too big for the rest of my body but I am feeling very good about myself so thank you all for all the lovely compliments

DH said I looked HOT when he got in last night

TrillianSlasher · 30/10/2009 09:13

4 children by 28?!

(just like to use all the hat emoticons!)

FlamingoBingo · 30/10/2009 09:16

Sorry I keep forgetting . Very sad I haven't been using them . Very happy you have reminded me though and also fairly annoyed that time is running out to use them . If only I wasn't so oblivious to these things . Wish I was as clever as you lot .

Did I manage to use them all?

TrillianSlasher · 30/10/2009 09:18

...

SpookyAlice · 30/10/2009 09:19

Nope

TrillianSlasher · 30/10/2009 09:19

Jet why did your parents used to be in the media?

bellavita · 30/10/2009 09:23

If I had 4 children by the age of 28, I would definitely be looking 60 and probably feeling it too

Flamingo - you look good on it girl!

TrillianSlasher · 30/10/2009 09:23

I know Jet's not actually here right now, just something I wanted to ask from last night.

bellavita · 30/10/2009 09:27

Syc, I hope you have a lovely day off

hellsbelles · 30/10/2009 09:38

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 30/10/2009 09:41

quick question...I made some spag bol last night but it has a bit of salt and balsamic vinegar in it. Do you think it would be safe to give some to DD today (9 months) - she's been 'salt' free with everything till now. Is a tiny tiny bit o.k?

Lizzylou · 30/10/2009 11:04

Oh, just spoken with FIL, he has had a call from the hospital where DH's Grandmother (FIL's Mom) is to say that he should come in.
She is 98yrs old and has been very ill for some time, she fell in the night this week and has been in hospital ever since.
I think it means she has already gone doesn't it? DH has a day off and has taken boys out, he is on his way home, think he will be going over to PIL's soon.
She is such a lovely strong but gentle lady, but she has been in so much pain and discomfort for years.

bellavita · 30/10/2009 11:09

Hells, I think in the grand scheme of things it will be ok.

Lizzy - am sorry about DH's Grandmother. I hate times like this...

TrillianSlasher · 30/10/2009 11:09

Hells - how much salt did you put in? Is there any salt in any of the other ingredients (stock cube etc)? Then divide that by what portion of the spag bol your DD will be having - 1/5th, 1/20th? It'll probably equate to a grain or two of salt.

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 30/10/2009 11:19

Morning ladies

Aw Lizzy

Catching up on you lot from last night

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/10/2009 11:20

Lizzy - sorry to hear about DH's grandmother

I'm a bit (nothing in the same league though!) because have had to take one of our cats to the vet today, and they have kept him in. Some kind of liver problem. He has been really listless and clearly not well this morning, so please send Sylvester some good vibes. He's on a drip which will hopefully sort it out.
