Welcome to the latest in our series of healthy eating threads (26 and counting)!

The emphasis is on health (which is sometimes rude when we get chatting frivolously, as is our tendency), and weight loss where desired. I obviously don't desire it enough, as I am the same weight as when I started, but some of our regulars are mere shadows of their former selves ...

Do come and sign in here if you are with us, or want to join in- all welcome.

We try a variety of approaches, and there is always a lot of support and quite a few laughs along the way. Shiney is the head honcho round these parts, and we do get to be regaled with her embarrassing stories before the rest of MN, so that's always a big draw

Join us if you will!

And he's gone! Eek!

Lizzylou · 29/10/2009 08:08

Yay Syc is back , but I missed her .

Had to interact with DH, he's out tonight though.....

Have changed my name on Elfster.

Jac, will have a look at what we have, does your DS like books? We have loads and loads, and some duplicates. Birthday and Christmas? Berlimey its an expensive time of year for you. Good to see you sounding so positive and that your family are helping, your DP sounds lovely.

FB me your address and I can post some books out to you.

DEM, my parents divorced when I was 10 and I quickly learnt how to get what I wanted, the guilt presents, being allowed to do what I wanted, all by playing them off against each other. It is what kids do, you are a great Mom. But you are there all the time, he knows that, he knows you are his constant and how much you love him. I think of some of the things I used to say to my Mom and Dad and it makes me feel ashamed and sad.

Today I will mostly be eating nuts and berries, am determined to get some lbs off before Christmas.

Lizzylou · 29/10/2009 08:09

Flam, hope your DH's first day goes well, bet you can't wait to see the shiny new car

bellavita · 29/10/2009 08:22

Flamingo - hope your DH has a good day and I hope you don't worry about him too much wondering how he is getting on - nerve racking though isn't it.

Am going to spend most of the day cleaning I think, have already got the sheets in the washing machine. I put my fruit to soak in brandy last night so I can make my christmas cake tomorrow. Myself and two of my mum friends are going to the Designer Outlet tonight to have a nosy around - it was supposed to be a trip out to get me some new work clothes but tbh, I do have everything I need now but I did not have the heart to say that when they were making plans (we said when I knew I had the job that we would go shopping but what with kids, holidays, one friend is a nurse and sometimes she is on call the weeks have just gone on) that I didn't need anything. Well perhaps a pair of boots but that is just about it.

I would love to go to the MN christmas do, but it is too far. The cost of the train fare and hotel would be a lot, there are also no late trains home from London - as dH has just found out - he has got a meeting on the 14th November and they are all going out afterwards - the last train on a Sat night back to York is 8.30pm.

VineGruesomeTits · 29/10/2009 08:30

Good morning, feeling better today but called in sick again, no point spreading the lurgy

Christmas do is to far and too expensive for me too, are there a lot of Northerners here then? they did have a do in Manchester last year, i didn't go because it clashed with another event i had to go to. But i know BOF went.

TrillianSlasher · 29/10/2009 08:41

mMorning all, good luck for first day at work Mr Flamingo.

bellavita · 29/10/2009 08:52

Vinny - I had considered the Manchester one last year, but we had got tickets to take the boys to see McFly in Manchester and that was the week before, so by the time we had spent the money on train tickets and restaurant etc for them, then it made it too expensive to go back to Manchester the week after.

BiteOfFun · 29/10/2009 09:21

I can't decide whether to go to it or not- I'd like to, to see Reality and Mamazon, and we could get put up, but I'm not sure whether I want to make DP drive all that way, or drag my fatness round London and puncture my rep as looking on the right side of a bus' back end ...plus, what if there are people there who don't like me much? They will forever be able to say "See that BoF one? She's right up herself, but she's a bit of a lardarse" etc etc....plus I'd like to see Shiney before Xmas, and she's nearer and as fat as me I can't really do both...Oh, decisions decisions

TrillianSlasher · 29/10/2009 09:36

LOL at choosing friends based on whether they are as fat as you.

I'll go sit in the corner since you don't want me. Flamingo can come too, in her size-10 jeans.

BiteOfFun · 29/10/2009 09:52

I am choosing friends on whether I get on with them or not, harrumph! I just don't want the skinny ones I don't to be mean about me, wah wah wah

You and Flamingo can be smug in the corner though...

OP posts:
FlamingoBingo · 29/10/2009 09:58

But very that I would have to put weight back on to be friends with BOF!

See my new pic on my profile - quickly shortened skirt, but can I wear it with that top? And does the top look ok over the LS white one?

FlamingoBingo · 29/10/2009 09:58

BOF what are you talking about. That sentence doesn't make any sense!

May I be your friend or not?

TrillianSlasher · 29/10/2009 09:59

Not smug corner, shunned-for-not-being-fat-enough corner.

Good legs Flam!

BiteOfFun · 29/10/2009 10:00

Yes, you can- you will just have to grow a moustache or something to make me look slightly less hideous perhaps?

OP posts:
BiteOfFun · 29/10/2009 10:03

Skirt great- not sure about the pink top with red shoes though. But too matchy matchy is bad too. But what do I know? I am fat and unattractive

See- I can do guilt-inducing sad faces too, you feckers

OP posts:
FlamingoBingo · 29/10/2009 10:04

Oh I already have a moustache!

Joy!

Thanks for the legs compliment, Trills

DH likes them too Just need to get running again to make sure they stay thin!

Lizzylou · 29/10/2009 10:05

Great legs Flam! I would wear a black top underneath, you look fab though, well done you.

Stand next to me BOF, you will look even more gorgeous then.
Saw myself naked after the shower and it was not good.
I won't be naked though if we do meet up, promise. Unless you think that would be a good thing to deflect attention?

BiteOfFun · 29/10/2009 10:06

Hahaaaa, I can't see a naked meet-up. That would sort the men from the boys...or something like that

OP posts:
VineGruesomeTits · 29/10/2009 10:07

FB i am going to be brutally honest, top doesnt go with shoes, shoes dont go with black tights, top doesnt go with skirt, all nice but just not together dear

VineGruesomeTits · 29/10/2009 10:07

Fabulous figure btw

FlamingoBingo · 29/10/2009 10:07

Bite - I know about the top. Really doesn't work however much I hope it might . Off to try more tops on with it. I need baggy, though, to hide my muffin-top!

BiteOfFun · 29/10/2009 10:09

I see Vinny is channelling Gok Wan there- go girlfriend!

OP posts:
FlamingoBingo · 29/10/2009 10:10

A fuck, re. the shoes! No choice but to wear the shoes - they're the only ones I've got.

What shoes then? Or what tights?

BiteOfFun · 29/10/2009 10:17

I think the shoes are fine with black tights and the skirt. I would go for a loose-fitting top in a darkish blue. But does blue go with black tights? Hmmm...

OP posts:
TrillianSlasher · 29/10/2009 10:17

I would wear red shoes with black tights.
