Welcome to the latest in our series of healthy eating threads (26 and counting)!

The emphasis is on health (which is sometimes rude when we get chatting frivolously, as is our tendency), and weight loss where desired. I obviously don't desire it enough, as I am the same weight as when I started, but some of our regulars are mere shadows of their former selves ...

Do come and sign in here if you are with us, or want to join in- all welcome.

We try a variety of approaches, and there is always a lot of support and quite a few laughs along the way. Shiney is the head honcho round these parts, and we do get to be regaled with her embarrassing stories before the rest of MN, so that's always a big draw

Join us if you will!

Hello Syc

Heard many nice things about you. i"m new (but not lovely ). NIce to meet you.

SycamoretreeIsVile · 28/10/2009 22:14

Darling Bella - the Nanny is just breathtakingly brilliant. Really. Truly.

She bakes healthy muffins.

She cooks fish pies and makes enough for DH and I.

This week (half term) I have come home to the kind of glittery, sandy, straw-based felt scrunched model aquarium that would have Blue Peter's presenters weeping onto their double sided sticky tape.

The kids adore her, she's like one of the family already. AND our share is working out a treat.

See, all that stressing over nothing. And I was worried that she had a funny voice, remember?! Shame on me.

Now we just need DH to get a job and I can finally learn to stop worrying and love the bomb (that's a quote from somewhere...not really sure what it means).

SycamoretreeIsVile · 28/10/2009 22:16

Hello HB - I feel newbie all over again

bellavita · 28/10/2009 22:17

Oh, I am so pleased for you Syc, she sounds fab and adorable.

Is there anything out there for DH?

SycamoretreeIsVile · 28/10/2009 22:17

Where is our benevolent dictator? She that doth Shine on...and on...and on?

BecauseImWorthIt · 28/10/2009 22:20

Hello!

I have found the Shiney cult on FB and have applied to join.

I had totally forgotten I had Shiney on my FB friends. I had wondered who JC was . That's the trouble with using real names as opposed to MN names. That's my defense and I'm sticking to it.

SqueezyCheesyCock · 28/10/2009 22:20

See Syc, you're only back 5 minutes and we're all cleaning up our acts already!

SycamoretreeIsVile · 28/10/2009 22:20

One nibble, that if it turned into a bit would be a very amazing bite but as ever, they're not sure yet if they will have the funding for a new post yet. A wait and see...but he's had one meeting that went well so I'm staying hopeful. He's earning still freelance and can do more now our nanny is here so we'll survive a few months yet without him being in FT work. Would be nice to face xmas without it hanging over us though.

What about you my darling? Hows work and leg and ting?

(really hopes I've not cross pollinated your history with sazzles or something - forgive me if I have - it's the night nurse kicking in).

SycamoretreeIsVile · 28/10/2009 22:22

That one was for BOF - a returning gift

bellavita · 28/10/2009 22:25

Leg getting there - having physio and work is just well fab - a drama a minute, honestly you would not believe what goes on, but those are stories for another day... cannot comment on the "ting" as I ain't sure what that is supposed to be

Oh and DH bought me some fab diamond earings this week (have told everyone else, didn't want you to feel left out!)

bellavita · 28/10/2009 22:26

Fingers crossed for your DH though Syc - I am sure he will wow them.

bellavita · 28/10/2009 22:27

Hullo BIWI

vacaloca · 28/10/2009 22:28

Ooohh, look who's back! Nice to see you, to see you...

Just gone into FB to see who you all are but am getting confused.

And I got a new job! And I managed to wrangle school hours with an extra hour from home in the evenings. I'm and .

SycamoretreeIsVile · 28/10/2009 22:30

Any ting you want it to be ha ha!

You look lovely in that foreskin Shiney

vacaloca · 28/10/2009 22:33

Your DS was in labour?

Go on, tell me about your sis then (I won't be despite my 36-hour 'workouts')

SycamoretreeIsVile · 28/10/2009 22:35

I think I am.

Is it allowed?

I kinda need you all more than ever (like the old girl Bonnie said).

Bloody missed you, you old bloody, ex policewoman, bloody caterpillar eating bit of loveliness!

I just touched you.

Yeah, Dsis then, not DS I guess!

Waters broke at 4am, at home, home birth planned, midwives called, they were like yeah yeah, we'll be over. 5.30am, midwives still not arrived. Sis and BIL call my mum over.

6.30am, still no midwives, head crowns, mum delivers baby on phone to 999.

3 stitches. No pain relief. At all.

First baby was also home birth. 5 hour labour.

Hmmm.

I had 2 c-sections...first being an emergency after a week in hospital and then 14 hours on the drip.

Ain't life just the funniest?
