For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

except for me, I billowed with vegetables last night, though it was rather embarassing because we finally chose off the menu rather than the bento box and we decided we could eat a couple more pieces of something, and when we asked for the menu again, the waitor looked aghast and said, are you sure, you really have eaten quite a lot!

Oh the shame.

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2009 13:26

what kind of attitude is that?

I really didn't feel that full either, in fact when we went to a bar afterwards I had a packet of crisps.

Beetroot and dill soup with creme fraiche for lunch. It's quite spicy actually, there's loads of ginger in it. Speaking of spicy I accidently ate the whole ball of wasabi last night as it had got caught under some ginger. I had to hide behind a napkin for some minutes, my whole face was streaming and I felt like someone had let off an acid rocket up my nose. Fiery stuff.

I could do with a bike ride. Looks pretty thunderous ourside though.

The boy and I went to a Farmers Market today and an American lady pointed at ds and said to her husband 'look, it's one of those English babies'

Either I've missed a little personal joke, or she was just odd. I think she was just odd because there was no expression on her face to say she was being funny (ha ha). The other odd thing was she was just an unremarkable looking middle aged white woman.

Baby Lemur and I were enjoying watching some Glasto highlights on the tv this avo. He actually sat there quietly and watched it!

pointydog · 27/06/2009 18:32

glastonbury. I couldn't be bothered.

I'll watch it on the telly though

FrayedKnot · 27/06/2009 18:34

My goodness the rain!

I have just been on fruit stocking expedition, but now just eaten too much first course so am having to leave my rasps & strawbs till later.

I have visions of SB altering her flight details to avoid the vegger welcome party

SuperBunny · 27/06/2009 18:41

One of those English babies?

I'm knackered... have been to the farmer's market, dismantled and rebuilt my bed in another room (I think that counts as exercise), sold my table and chairs, telly, dvd player and given away assorted junk. So why does my apartment look worse now than it did before I got rid of most of our belongings?

Hi Mayor. Welcome to the mad house village hall.

We've just had a wonderful day out with lots of friends at an adventure park

I feel very content

FrayedKnot · 27/06/2009 19:54

Bonsoir Mayor.

Bienvenue a notre thread.

Sat Guardian veggie recipe is fried tomatoes in breadcrumbs - not something I'd ever thought of but looks good. It says serve with cheese, eg. goats. Yum, I reckon.

pinkspottywellies · 27/06/2009 20:19

I have not dropped an e

I just felt all smiley and happy and content (probably in part, due to the fact that DS has gone to sleep before 9pm for the first time!)

No f&v though. But I've bought some.

catinthehat2 · 27/06/2009 21:15

I am not joining this thread.

I am here to complain about the title which has been banging away LOUDLY on my internal jukebox for days now, every time I see it on active conversations.

I hope you all feel guilty.

grr

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 27/06/2009 21:16

Oh, not judgey Molly, he has just already done the 'you are scarring me for life mother' thing. My room, my rules though, and there is no-one around during the day, except the odd customer dropping by lol!

Franny, you are funny!

In practice I have had a bit of a crap day with things going wrong, but there must be something in the water cos I got the giggles as well. (checks typing to see if I have dropped any letters).

Hi MayorNaze....

I sobbed at your news SB ....I appear to be very emotional at the moment. Not just in a bad way, just a bit odd.

I have had bananas,apple,juice,peaches,tomato,pepper,onion,
sweetcorn,lettuce.gallons of water.

I walked a long way carrying things, and then got a lift with one of those odd people you think maybe you would have been better off refusing.

Now I am sort of painting.

I want to go out and let my 'hair' down. And dance.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 27/06/2009 21:20

I'm with you pink, in the just content for no reason camp.((((((((((((( ))))))))))

You was just preggie with DS when I joined this thread and your loveliness shone out...

SuperBunny · 27/06/2009 22:01

AW, Pink, sorry. I'm glad you are happy

Catinthehat... I take no responsibility. This title was not my doing.

Enjoy your painting, Mits.

Strawberries but they are shite and cost $5
