For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

we have tv in lounge, elderly but functional.
ds1 has tv screen with tv disabled for ps2. ds 2 has tv (disabled) for kids watching dvds when we have lots of kids over (to give us adults in a small house some kid-free space when we are entertaining)
I have just realised we do have a very geriatric one in the bedroom which is covered with a pile of clothes I never quite reach the bottom of...

we have no tv on the boat though [proud] Is all very priitive wholesome on there.

Sad
SuperBunny · 30/06/2009 22:59

Toot, how wAs your day? Did you see Mits?

Sorry you are down, Franny.

My boxes arrived so I can pack but books are heavy. If I half fill a bix with books, it is almost at the weight limits so then I am squishing in assorted soft toys (that I don't really want to bring back) because they are a good cushiony packing material.

TooTicky · 30/06/2009 23:17

Fab day. Mits is utterly delightful.
I walked her miles and nearly made her miss her train. And she didn't get cake or apple pie. And still she smiled.

TooTicky · 30/06/2009 23:18

Can you not use clothes instead of soft toys?

SuperBunny · 01/07/2009 00:57

Oh, Mits must be lovely. I might've grumbled if there were no cake or pie

I didn't think of using clothes But they aren't quite as squishy as toys and weigh more. I really needed those air pocket things but Big Bear is sufficient.

Salad
Berries

TooTicky · 01/07/2009 06:20

Hurrah for Big Bear!!

Curiously, I got up at 25 past 5 instead of 6 this morning. I trink my watch was playing a trick on me.

TooTicky · 01/07/2009 06:21

My baby is 4 today

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/07/2009 07:22

Happy birthday baby Toot

Have you made one of your wonderful cakes Toot?

Glad you had a lovely time with Mits Tell me more about the Banksy exhib.

I too thought LR was eating carpet!

FrannyandZooey · 01/07/2009 08:11

i think carpet muncher means something else, doesn't it?

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/07/2009 08:23

Yes a rug muncher or carpet muncher is a name for lesbians

I hope the day improves for you Franny.

My sleep has been terrible, it doesn't help that dh kept edging towards me in the bed last night. At one point he dared to lay his hand on me. I slapped it and stroppily shoved it off Luckily he understands I get grumpy in the heat.

It was so hot in our room last night that the ceiling fan was just moving the warm air around. It was foul.

Oh how I wish for a coastal breeze again.

I shall now shut up about the heat

Boco · 01/07/2009 09:32

Rubbish sleep here too, dp has gone sleep disordery again so was running and kicking until I demanded persuaded him to sleep on the floor about 4am. Even then he kept kicking the bed. I had a dream I was on a lurchy train - probably because I'm drawing trains atm, and dp was adding to the lurchiness.

We have induction at school for dd2 today. Unfortunately this means eating a school dinner, which is usually something very boiled.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 01/07/2009 10:11

Franny, so sorry about your ....

I know you don't like (()) but have a sort of thought one...

Yesterday was fab and so very much needed on many levels.

A bit about my 'loveliness' but thanks for the compliments... Toot, is very 'Tooty'

Banksy was awesome, truly truly awesome, the exhibition absolutely blew me away and coming back I am having something of an epiphany....

The suspension bridge was also awesome. I love bridges and love both there physical and symbolic purposes, they are functional sculptures IMO. Brunel is one of my heroes, so it was a pretty fab day all round, friendship, inspiration and a moments peace of mind...
Managed to get to my Kick boxing class when I got back and the day ended on a really personal high..

Happy Birthday Tootlet (())

We have a telly but curiously since the break down of my marriage nobody watches it... I grew up without one and didn't have one when I lived on my own. Mostly I would rather be living life than watching other people live theirs, although it does open the world up a bit if you are selective.

Ok...time to work,

to all.xx

ahundredtimes · 01/07/2009 11:14

I like bridges too, not all bridges though, just some.

JJ is at the hairdressers. I cut dd's hair last night, it's rather short and much shorter one side than the other. I can normally get away with cutting her hair as it is so curly, this time, apparently not. We contemplated it for some time this morning. I told her it was cooler, she said 'this hair is SO NOT cool' and I said, 'no, no, indeed, I mean it'll be less hot.'

She may survive this trauma, she may not. The Playground Will Decide.

I can't believe all these dd's who are going to school in September.

ahundredtimes · 01/07/2009 11:18

I think someone missed a trick with motorway bridges. They are dreadful.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 01/07/2009 11:27

Yes 100, they are overall very poxy.

Blardy hell, a spider the size of Louise Bourgois' one in the tate has just crawlled up my arm..

We do hair angst as well. DS is complaining that people are looking at him now he has a mohican
